Proverbios 29
1 Cualquiera que siga rechazando obstinadamente muchas advertencias, sufrirá destrucción repentina, sin ningún remedio.
A reprover is better than a stiff-necked man: for when the latter is suddenly set on fire, there shall be no remedy.
2 Cuando los justos están a cargo, todos celebran; pero cuando los malvados gobiernan, todos gimen.
When the righteous are praised, the people will rejoice: but when the ungodly rule, men mourn.
3 El hombre que ama la sabiduría, hace feliz a su padre; pero el que visita a las prostitutas, está desperdiciando su dinero.
When a man loves wisdom, his father rejoices: but he that keeps harlots will waste wealth.
4 El rey que gobierna con justicia hace que el país esté seguro; pero el que pide sobornos, lo destruirá.
A righteous king establishes a country: but a transgressor destroys [it].
5 Los que adulan a sus amigos ponen una trampa para hacerlos caer.
He that prepares a net in the way of his own friend, entangles his own feet in it.
6 Los malvados están atrapados por sus propios pecados; pero los que hacen el bien, cantan y celebran.
A great snare [is spread] for a sinner: but the righteous shall be in joy and gladness.
7 Los justos se preocupan por trartar a los pobres con justiciar; pero los malvados no piensan en ello.
A righteous man knows how to judge for the poor: but the ungodly understands not knowledge; and the poor man has not an understanding mind.
8 Los cínicos pueden inflamar toda una ciudad, pero los sabios hacen calmar el furor.
Lawless men burn down a city: but wise men turn away wrath.
9 Cuando un sabio lleva a un tonto a la corte, habrá rabia y ridículo pero sin soluciones.
A wise man shall judge nations: but a worthless man being angry laughs and fears not.
10 Los asesinos odian a las personas con integridad, pero los que viven rectamente tratarán de ayudarlos.
Bloody men hate a holy [person], but the upright will seek his soul.
11 Los tontos dejan salir toda su rabia, pero los sabios la contienen.
A fool utters all is mind: but the wise reserves his in part.
12 El gobernante que escucha la mentira no tendrá nada, sino solo oficiales malvados.
When a king hearkens to unjust language, all his subjects are transgressors.
13 Los pobres y sus opresores tienen algo en común: el Señor les da la vida.
When the creditor and debtor meet together, the Lord oversees them both.
14 Si un rey juzga con justicia a los pobres, tendrá un largo reinado.
When a king judges the poor in truth, his throne shall be established for a testimony.
15 La disciplina y la corrección proporcionan sabiduría; pero el hijo que no recibe disciplina es una vergüenza para su madre.
Stripes and reproofs give wisdom: but an erring child disgraces his parents.
16 Cuando los malvados están al poder, el pecado aumenta; pero los justos verán su caída.
When the ungodly abound, sins abound: but when they fall, the righteous are warned.
17 Disciplina a tus hijos, y no te causarán preocupaciones. Te harán muy feliz.
Chasten your son, and he shall give you rest; and he shall give honor to your soul.
18 Sin la revelación de Dios el pueblo se descontrola; pero los que guardan la ley son felices.
There shall be no interpreter to a sinful nation: but he that observes the law is blessed.
19 Un siervo no puede ser disciplinado solo con palabras; aunque entienden, no siguen la instrucción.
A stubborn servant will not be reproved by words: for even if he understands, still he will not obey.
20 ¿Has visto a un hombre que habla sin pensar? ¡Hay más esperanza para un tonto que para él!
If you see a man hasty in [his] words, know that the fool has hope rather than he.
21 El siervo consentido desde la infancia será incontrolable.
He that lives wantonly from a child, shall be a servant, and in the end shall grieve over himself.
22 La gente enojada crea problemas, los irascibles cometerán muchos pecados.
A furious man stirs up strife, and a passionate man digs up sin.
23 Si eres orgulloso serás humillado; pero si eres humilde, serás honrado.
Pride brings a man low, but the Lord upholds the humble-minded with honor.
24 El compañero de un ladrón aborrece su vida; incluso bajo amenaza y maldiciones, no podrá decir la verdad.
He that shares with a thief, hates his own soul: and if any having heard an oath uttered tell not of it,
25 El temor a la gente es una trampa. Pero si confías en el Señor estarás a salvo.
[they] fearing and reverencing men [unreasonably] have been overthrown, but he that trusts in the Lord shall rejoice. Ungodliness causes a man to stumble: but he that trusts in his master shall be safe.
26 Muchos procuran el favor de un gobernante; pero la justicia viene del Señor.
Many wait on the favor of rulers; but justice comes to a man from the Lord.
27 Los justos aborrecen a los injustos; los malvados aborrecen a los que hacen el bien.
A righteous man is an abomination to an unrighteous man, and the direct way is an abomination to the sinner.
