Proverbios 2
1 Hijo mío, si aceptas mi palabra y valoras mis instrucciones;
[My] son, if you will receive the utterance of my commandment, and hide it with you;
2 si prestas atención a la sabiduría y procuras entender;
your ear shall listen to wisdom; you shall also apply your heart to understanding, and shall apply it to the instruction of your son.
3 si clamas pidiendo inteligencia y gritas pidiendo ayuda para comprender;
For it you shall call to wisdom, and utter your voice for understanding;
4 si la buscas como si fuera plata, y la persigues como si fuera un tesoro oculto,
and if you shall seek it as silver, and search diligently for it as for treasures;
5 entonces entenderás cómo debes relacionarte con el Señor y conocerás verdaderamente a Dios.
then shall you understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.
6 El Señor es la fuente de la sabiduría. Su palabra proporciona el conocimiento y la razón.
For the Lord gives wisdom; and from his presence [come] knowledge and understanding,
7 Él da sano juicio a los que viven en rectitud, y defiende a los que tienen buen discernimiento.
and he treasures up salvation for them that walk uprightly: he will protect their way;
8 Él sostiene a los que actúan con justicia y protege a los que confían en él.
that he may guard the righteous ways: and he will preserve the way of them that fear him.
9 Entonces podrás reconocer lo que es recto y justo, y todo lo bueno, así como la forma en que debes vivir.
Then shall you understand righteousness, and judgement; and shall direct all your course aright.
10 Porque la sabiduría inundará tu mente, y el conocimiento te hará feliz.
For if wisdom shall come into your understanding, and discernment shall seem pleasing to your soul,
11 Las buenas decisiones te mantendrán por el buen camino, y estarás a salvo si piensas usando la razón.
good counsel shall guard you, and holy understanding shall keep you;
12 Esto te guardará de los caminos del mal, de los hombres mentirosos
to deliver you from the evil way, and from the man that speaks nothing faithfully.
13 que se alejan del camino recto para andar en caminos de oscuridad.
Alas [for those] who forsake right paths, to walk in ways of darkness;
14 Ellos son felices haciendo el mal, y les gusta la perversión.
who rejoice in evils, and delight in wicked perverseness;
15 Viven vidas extraviadas, cometiendo actos engañosos.
whose paths are crooked, and their courses winding;
16 También te guardará de la mujer que actúa con inmoralidad, de mujeres que tal como una prostituta tratan de seducirte con elogios.
to remove you far from the straight way, and to estrange you from a righteous purpose. [My] son, let not evil counsel overtake you,
17 Una mujer que ha abandonado al hombre con el que se casó en su juventud, y ha olvidado las promesas que hizo ante Dios.
[of her] who has forsaken the instruction of her youth, and forgotten the covenant of God.
18 Lo que sucede en su casa conduce a la muerte, y seguir sus caminos te llevará a la tumba.
For she has fixed her house near death, and [guided] her wheels near Hades with the giants.
19 Ninguno que va donde ella regresa, pues nunca más logran encontrar el camino de regreso a la vida.
None that go by her shall return, neither shall they take hold of right paths, for they are not apprehended of the years of life.
20 Así que tú sigue el camino del bien, y asegúrate de ir por los senderos de quienes hacen lo recto.
For had they gone in good paths, they would have found the paths of righteousness easy.
21 Porque solo los rectos habitarán la tierra. Solo los honestos permanecerán en ella.
For the upright shall dwell in the earth, and the holy shall be left behind in it.
22 Pero los malvados serán expulsados de ella, y los infieles serán arrancados de raíz.
The paths of the ungodly shall perish out of the earth, and transgressors shall be driven away from it.
