Proverbios 13
1 Un hijo sabio acepta la disciplina de su padre, pero el burlador no escuchará la corrección.
A wise son is a lover of teaching, but the ears of the haters of authority are shut to sharp words.
2 Recibirás recompensa por usar las palabras correctas; pero las personas deshonestas procuran la violencia.
A man will get good from the fruit of his lips, but the desire of the false is for violent acts.
3 Cuida lo que dices y salvaras tu vida; decir mucho conlleva al desastre.
He who keeps a watch on his mouth keeps his life; but he whose lips are open wide will have destruction.
4 Los perezosos desean muchas cosas pero no reciben nada; pero si trabajas duro serás recompensado.
The hater of work does not get his desires, but the soul of the hard workers will be made fat.
5 Las personas de bien odian las mentiras; pero los malvados hieden y solo aportan desgracia.
The upright man is a hater of false words: the evil-doer gets a bad name and is put to shame.
6 La bondad protege a los que viven en rectitud; pero el pecado destruirá a los malvados.
Righteousness keeps safe him whose way is without error, but evil-doers are overturned by sin.
7 Algunos aparentan ser ricos, pero n tienen nada; mientras que otros aparentan ser pobres pero son muy ricos.
A man may be acting as if he had wealth, but have nothing; another may seem poor, but have great wealth.
8 Los ricos pueden pagar recompensa para salvar sus vidas, pero los pobres ni siquiera experimentan tal tribulación.
A man will give his wealth in exchange for his life; but the poor will not give ear to sharp words.
9 La vida de las personas buenas alumbra con esplendor, pero la lampara de los malvados será apagada.
There is a glad dawn for the upright man, but the light of the sinner will be put out.
10 El orgullo solo causa conflicto; pero los sabios aceptan el consejo.
The only effect of pride is fighting; but wisdom is with the quiet in spirit.
11 La riqueza que se logra con fraude desaparece rápidamente; pero los que la logran poco a poco prosperarán.
Wealth quickly got will become less; but he who gets a store by the work of his hands will have it increased.
12 La esperanza que se tarda puede causar malestar, pero un deseo cumplido puede darte vida nuevamente.
Hope put off is a weariness to the heart; but when what is desired comes, it is a tree of life.
13 Si rechazas las palabras de consejo, pagaras por ello; pero si respetas el consejo que te dan, serás recompensado.
He who makes sport of the word will come to destruction, but the respecter of the law will be rewarded.
14 La enseñanza del sabio es como una fuente de vida, gracias a la cual puedes evadir las trampas de la muerte.
The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life, turning men away from the nets of death.
15 La inteligencia produce gran estima, pero el camino de los infieles es duro.
Wise behaviour gets approval, but the way of the false is their destruction.
16 Todas las personas sabias actúan con inteligencia; pero los tontos demuestran su estupidez.
A sharp man does everything with knowledge, but a foolish man makes clear his foolish thoughts.
17 Un mal mensajero crea problemas; pero un embajador fiel trae sanidad.
A man taking false news is a cause of trouble, but he who gives news rightly makes things well.
18 La pobreza y la desgracia can sobre aquellos que carecen de instrucción; pero los que aceptan la corrección serán honrados.
Need and shame will be the fate of him who is uncontrolled by training; but he who takes note of teaching will be honoured.
19 Es bueno ver un deseo cumplido; pero los necios odian tener que alejarse del mal para lograr su deseo.
To get one's desire is sweet to the soul, but to give up evil is disgusting to the foolish.
20 Ser amigo de sabios te hará sabio; pero ser amigo de tontos te traerá problemas.
Go with wise men and be wise: but he who keeps company with the foolish will be broken.
21 La tragedia persigue al pecador; pero la prosperidad recompensa al justo.
Evil will overtake sinners, but the upright will be rewarded with good.
22 Los justos dejan herencia para sus nietos, pero la riqueza del pecador está reservada para los que viven en justicia.
The heritage of the good man is handed down to his children's children; and the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the upright man.
23 La tierra sin arar de los pobres puede producir mucho alimento, pero es robado por causa de la injusticia.
There is much food in the ploughed land of the poor; but it is taken away by wrongdoing.
24 Los que no disciplinan a sus hijos, los odian. Los que aman a sus hijos los disciplinan con cuidado.
He who keeps back his rod is unkind to his son: the loving father gives punishment with care.
25 Los justos comen hasta saciarse; pero el estómago de los malvados esta vacío.
The upright man has food to the full measure of his desire, but there will be no food for the stomach of evil-doers.
