1 El Señor le habló a Moisés en el Tabernáculo de Reunión mientras estaban en el desierto del Sinaí. Esto fue el primer día del segundo mes, dos años después de que los israelitas salieran de Egipto. Le dijo:
Adonai spoke to Moses [Drawn out] in the wilderness of Sinai [Thorn], in the Tent of Meeting, on the first day of the second month (Iyar ·Light / I Am God your healer, 2·), in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery], saying,
2 “Censen a todos los israelitas según su tribu y su familia. Cuenten a cada hombre y mantengan un registro del nombre de cada uno.
“Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel [God prevails], by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, every male, one by one;
3 Tú y Aarón deberán registrar a todos los mayores de veinte años que sean aptos para prestar el servicio militar según sus divisiones en el ejército israelita.
from twenty years old and upward, all who are able to go out to war in Israel [God prevails]. You and Aaron [Light-bringer] shall count them by their divisions.
4 Para ayudarlos habrá estar con ustedes un representante de cada tribu, que es el jefe de cada familia:
With you there shall be a man of every tribe; everyone head of his fathers’ house.
5 “Estos son los nombres de los hombres que trabajarán con ustedes: De la tribu de Rubén, Elisur, hijo de Sedeur;
These are the names of the men who shall stand with you: Of Reuben [See, a son!]: Elizur the son of Shedeur.
6 de la tribu de Simeón, Selumiel, hijo de Zurisadai;
Of Simeon [Hearing]: Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai [My rock almighty].
7 de la tribu de Judá, Naasón, hijo de Aminadab;
Of Judah [Praised]: Nahshon the son of Amminadab.
8 de la tribu de Isacar, Nataanel, hijo de Zuar;
Of Issachar [Hire, Reward]: Nethanel the son of Zuar.
9 de la tribu de Zabulón, Eliab, hijo de Helón;
Of Zebulun [Living together]: Eliab the son of Helon.
10 de los hijos de José: de la tribu de Efraín, Elisama, hijo de Amihud; y de la tribu de Manasés, Gamaliel, hijo de Pedasur;
Of the children of Joseph [May he add]: Of Ephraim [Fruit]: Elishama the son of Ammihud. Of Manasseh [Causing to forget]: Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.
11 de la tribu de Benjamín, Abidán, hijo de Gedeoni;
Of Benjamin [Son of right hand, Son of south]: Abidan the son of Gideoni.
12 de la tribu de Dan, Ajiezer, hijo de Amisadai;
Of Dan [He judged]: Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.
13 de la tribu de Aser, Pagiel, hijo de Ocrán;
Of Asher [Happy]: Pagiel the son of Ochran.
14 de la tribu de Gad, Eliasaf, hijo de Deuel;

15 y de la tribu de Neftalí, Ahira, hijo de Enán”.

16 Estos fueron los hombres elegidos de la comunidad israelita. Eran los jefes de las tribus de sus padres; los jefes de las familias de Israel.
These are those who were called of the congregation, the princes of the tribes of their fathers; they were the heads of the thousands of Israel [God prevails].
17 Moisés y Aarón convocaron a estos hombres que habían sido seleccionados por nombre.
Moses [Drawn out] and Aaron [Light-bringer] took these men who are mentioned by name.
18 Hicieron que todos los israelitas se reunieran el primer día del segundo mes, y registraron la genealogía del pueblo según su tribu y familia, y contaron los nombres de todos los que tenían veinte años o más,
They assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month (Iyar ·Light / I Am God your healer, 2·); and they declared their ancestry by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, one by one.
19 como el Señor le había dicho a Moisés que hiciera. Moisés llevó a cabo este censo en el desierto del Sinaí.
As Adonai enjoined Moses [Drawn out], so he counted them in the wilderness of Sinai [Thorn].
20 Los descendientes de Rubén, (que era el hijo primogénito de Israel), hombres de veinte años o más, fueron registrados por nombre según los registros genealógicos de su tribu y familias. Y todos los hombres registrados que estaban aptos para servir en el ejército
The children of Reuben [See, a son!], Israel [God prevails]’s firstborn, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, one by one, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;
21 n la tribu de Rubén sumaron 46.500.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Reuben [See, a son!], were forty-six thousand five hundred.
22 Los descendientes de Simeón, hombres de veinte años o más, fueron registrados por nombre según los registros genealógicos de su tribu y sus familias. Todos hombres registrados que estaban aptos para servir en el ejército,
Of the children of Simeon [Hearing], their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, those who were counted of it, according to the number of the names, one by one, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;
23 de la tribu de Simeón, sumaron 59.300.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Simeon [Hearing], were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.
24 Los descendientes de Gad, hombres de veinte años o más, fueron registrados por nombre según los registros genealógicos de su tribu y sus familias. Todos los hombres registrados que estaban aptos para servir en el ejército,
Of the children of Gad [Good fortune], their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;
25 de la tribu de Gad, sumaron 45.650.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Gad [Good fortune], were forty-five thousand six hundred fifty.
26 Los descendientes de Judá, hombres de veinte años o más, fueron registrados por nombre según los registros genealógicos de su tribu y sus familias. Todos los hombres inscritos, que estaban aptos para servir en el ejército,
Of the children of Judah [Praised], their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;
27 de la tribu de Judá, sumaron 74.600.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Judah [Praised], were seventy-four thousand six hundred.
28 Los descendientes de Isacar, hombres de veinte años o más, fueron registrados por nombre según los registros genealógicos de su tribu y sus familias. Todos los hombres inscritos que eran aptos para servir en el ejército,
Of the children of Issachar [Hire, Reward], their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;
29 de la tribu de Isacar, sumaron 54.400.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Issachar [Hire, Reward], were fifty-four thousand four hundred.
30 Los descendientes de Zabulón, hombres de veinte años o más, fueron registrados por nombre según los registros genealógicos de su tribu y sus familias. Todos los hombres inscritos que estaban aptos para servir en el ejército,
Of the children of Zebulun [Living together], their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;
31 de la tribu de Zabulón, sumaron 57.400.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Zebulun [Living together], were fifty-seven thousand four hundred.
32 Los descendientes de José: los descendientes de Efraín, hombres de veinte años o más, fueron registrados por nombre según los registros genealógicos de su tribu y sus familias. Todos los hombres registrados que estaban aptos para servir en el ejército
Of the children of Joseph [May he add], of the children of Ephraim [Fruit], their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;
33 de la tribu de Efraín, sumaron 40.500.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Ephraim [Fruit], were forty thousand five hundred.
34 Y los descendientes de Manasés, hombres de veinte años o más, fueron registrados por nombre según los registros genealógicos de su tribu y sus familias. Todos los hombres registrados que estaban aptos para servir en el ejército
Of the children of Manasseh [Causing to forget], their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;
35 de la tribu de Manasés, sumaron 32.200.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Manasseh [Causing to forget], were thirty-two thousand two hundred.
36 Los descendientes de Benjamín, hombres de veinte años o más, fueron registrados por nombre según los registros genealógicos de su tribu y sus familias. Todos los hombres registrados que estaban aptos para servir en el ejército,
Of the children of Benjamin [Son of right hand, Son of south], their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;
37 de la tribu de Benjamín, totalizaban 35.400.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Benjamin [Son of right hand, Son of south], were thirty-five thousand four hundred.
38 Los descendientes de Dan, hombres de veinte años o más, fueron registrados por nombre según los registros genealógicos de su tribu y sus familias. Todos los hombres registrados que estaban aptos para servir en el ejército,
Of the children of Dan [He judged], their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;
39 de la tribu de Dan, sumaron 62.700.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Dan [He judged], were sixty-two thousand seven hundred.
40 Los descendientes de Aser, hombres de veinte años o más, fueron registrados por nombre según los registros genealógicos de su tribu y sus familias. Todos los hombres inscritos que estaban aptos para servir en el ejército,
Of the children of Asher [Happy], their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;
41 de la tribu de Aser, sumaron 41.500.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Asher [Happy], were forty-one thousand five hundred.
42 Los descendientes de Neftalí, hombres de veinte años o más, fueron registrados por nombre según los registros genealógicos de su tribu y sus familias. Todos los hombres inscritos que estaban aptos para servir en el ejército,
Of the children of Naphtali [My wrestling], their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;
43 de la tribu de Neftalí, sumaron 53.400.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Naphtali [My wrestling], were fifty-three thousand four hundred.
44 Estos fueron los totales de los hombres contados y registrados por Moisés y Aarón, con la ayuda de los doce líderes de Israel, que representaban cada uno a su familia.
These are those who were counted, whom Moses [Drawn out] and Aaron [Light-bringer] counted, and the princes of Israel [God prevails], being twelve men: they were each one for his fathers’ house.
45 De esta manera, todos los hombres israelitas de veinte años o más que pudieron servir en el ejército de Israel fueron registrados según sus familias.
So all those who were counted of the children of Israel [God prevails] by their fathers’ houses, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war in Israel [God prevails];
46 La suma total de los registrados fue de 603.550.
even all those who were counted were six hundred three thousand five hundred fifty.
47 Sin embargo, los levitas no estaban registrados con los demás según su tribu y sus familias.
But the Levites [Descendants of United with] after the tribe of their fathers was not counted among them.
48 Esto se debió a que el Señor le había dicho a Moisés:
For Adonai spoke to Moses [Drawn out], saying,
49 “No registres la tribu de Leví, ni los cuentes en el censo con los otros israelitas.
“Only the tribe of Levi [United with] you shall not count, neither shall you take a census of them among the children of Israel [God prevails];
50 Pon a los levitas a cargo del Tabernáculo y del Testimonio, así como de todo su mobiliario y de todo lo que hay en él. Ellos serán los responsables de llevar el Tabernáculo y todos sus artículos. Deben cuidarlo, y hacer su campamento alrededor de él.
but appoint the Levites [Descendants of United with] over the Tabernacle of the Testimony, and over all its furnishings, and over all that belongs to it. They shall carry the tabernacle, and all its furnishings; and they shall take care of it, and shall encamp around it.
51 Cuando llegue el momento de trasladar el Tabernáculo, los levitas lo bajarán, y cuando llegue el momento de acampar, los levitas lo levantarán. Cualquier forastero que se acerque al Tabernáculo debe ser condenado a muerte.
When the tabernacle is to move, the Levites [Descendants of United with] shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites [Descendants of United with] shall set it up. The stranger who comes near shall be put to death.
52 Los israelitas acamparán por tribus, cada uno estará en su propio campamento, bajo su propia bandera.
The children of Israel [God prevails] shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, according to their divisions.
53 Pero los levitas deben levantar su campamento alrededor del Tabernáculo del Testimonio para evitar que alguien me haga enojar con los israelitas. Los levitas son responsables de cuidar el Tabernáculo del Testimonio”.
But the Levites [Descendants of United with] shall encamp around the Tabernacle of the Testimony, that there may be no wrath on the congregation of the children of Israel [God prevails]: and the Levites [Descendants of United with] shall be responsible for the Tabernacle of the Testimony.”
54 Los israelitas hicieron todo lo que el Señor les ordenó a través de Moisés.
Thus the children of Israel [God prevails] did. According to all that Adonai enjoined Moses [Drawn out], so they did.
