Nehemías 7
1 Una vez reconstruida la muralla y levantadas las puertas, nombré a los porteros, a los cantores y a los levitas.
Now when the building of the wall was complete and I had put up the doors, and the door-keepers and the music-makers and the Levites had been given their places,
2 Puse a mi hermano Hanani a cargo de Jerusalén, junto con Hananías, el comandante de la fortaleza, porque era un hombre honesto que respetaba a Dios más que muchos otros.
I made my brother Hanani, and Hananiah, the ruler of the tower, responsible for the government of Jerusalem: for he was a man of good faith, fearing God more than most.
3 Les dije: “No permitan que se abran las puertas de Jerusalén hasta que el sol esté caliente, y asegúrate de que los guardias cierren y echen el cerrojo a las puertas mientras estén de servicio. Nombra a algunos de los habitantes de Jerusalén como guardias, para que estén en sus puestos, frente a sus propias casas”.
And I said to them, Do not let the doors of Jerusalem be open till the sun is high; and while the watchmen are in their places, let the doors be shut and locked: and let the people of Jerusalem be put on watch, every one in his watch, opposite his house.
4 En aquellos tiempos la ciudad era grande y con mucho espacio, pero no había mucha gente en ella, y las casas no habían sido reconstruidas.
Now the town was wide and great: but the people in it were only a small number, and the houses had not been put up.
5 Mi Dios me animó a que todos -los nobles, los funcionarios y el pueblo- vinieran a registrarse según su genealogía familiar. Encontré el registro genealógico de los que habían regresado primero. Esto es lo que descubrí escrito allí.
And my God put it into my heart to get together the rulers and the chiefs and the people so that they might be listed by families. And I came across a record of the names of those who came up at the first, and in it I saw these words:
6 Esta es una lista de la gente de la provincia que regresó del cautiverio. Estos eran los exiliados que habían sido llevados a Babilonia por el rey Nabucodonosor. Regresaron a Jerusalén y a Judá, a sus ciudades de origen.
These are the people of the divisions of the kingdom, among those who had been made prisoners by Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, and taken away by him, who went back to Jerusalem and Judah, every one to his town;
7 Estaban dirigidos por Zorobabel, Jesúa, Nehemías, Azarías, Raamías, Nahamani, Mardoqueo, Bilsán, Misperet, Bigvai, Nehum y Baana. Este es el número de hombres del pueblo de Israel:

60 El total de los siervos del Templo y de los descendientes de los siervos de Salomón era de 392.
All the Nethinim and the children of Solomon's servants were three hundred and ninety-two.
61 Los que procedían de las ciudades de Tel-mela, Tel-Harsa, Querub, Addán e Imer no podían demostrar su genealogía familiar, ni siquiera que eran descendientes de Israel.
All these were the people who went up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer; but because they had no knowledge of their fathers' families or offspring, it was not certain if they were Israelites:
62 Entre ellos estaban las familias de Delaía, Tobías y Necoda, 642 en total.
The children of Delaiah, the children of Tobiah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred and forty-two.
63 Además había tres familias sacerdotales, hijos de Habaía, Cos y Barzilai. (Barzilai se había casado con una mujer descendiente de Barzilai de Galaad, y se llamaba por ese nombre).
And of the priests: the children of Hobaiah, the children of Hakkoz, the children of Barzillai, who was married to one of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and took their name.
64 Se buscó un registro de ellos en las genealogías, pero no se encontraron sus nombres, por lo que se les prohibió servir como sacerdotes.
They made search for their record among the lists of families, but their names were nowhere to be seen, so they were looked on as unclean and no longer priests.
65 El gobernador les ordenó que no comieran nada de los sacrificios del santuario hasta que un sacerdote pudiera preguntar al Señor sobre el asunto utilizando el Urim y el Tumim.
And the Tirshatha said that they were not to have the most holy things for their food, till a priest came to give decision by the Urim and Thummim.

The number of all the people together was forty-two thousand, three hundred and sixty;
67 Además había 7.337 sirvientes y 245 cantores y cantoras.
As well as their men-servants and their women-servants, of whom there were seven thousand, three hundred and thirty-seven; and they had two hundred and forty-five men and women to make music.
68 Tenían 736 caballos, 245 mulas,
They had seven hundred and thirty-six horses, two hundred and forty-five transport beasts;
69 435 camellos y 6.720 burros.
Four hundred and thirty-five camels, six thousand, seven hundred and twenty asses.
70 Algunos de los jefes de familia hicieron contribuciones voluntarias para el trabajo. El gobernador entregó a la tesorería 1.000 dáricos de oro, 50 cuencos y 530 conjuntos de ropa para los sacerdotes.
And some of the heads of families gave money for the work. The Tirshatha gave into the store a thousand darics of gold, fifty basins, five hundred and thirty priests' robes.
71 Algunos de los jefes de familia donaron al tesoro para la obra 20.000 dáricos de oro y 2.200 minas de plata.
And some of the heads of families gave into the store for the work twenty thousand darics of gold, and two thousand, two hundred pounds of silver.
72 El resto del pueblo donó 20.000 dáricos de oro, 2.000 minas de plata y 67 conjuntos de ropa para los sacerdotes.
And that which the rest of the people gave was twenty thousand darics of gold, and two thousand pounds of silver, and sixty-seven priests' robes.
73 Los sacerdotes, los levitas, los porteros, los cantores y los servidores del Templo, así como parte del pueblo y el resto de los israelitas, volvieron a vivir en sus pueblos específicos. En el séptimo mes los israelitas vivían en sus pueblos,
So the priests and the Levites and the door-keepers and the music-makers and some of the people and the Nethinim, and all Israel, were living in their towns.
