San Mateo 12
1 En esos días, Jesús caminaba por los campos de grano en el día Sábado. Sus discípulos tenían hambre, así que comenzaron a recoger espigas y a comérselas.
At that time Jesus, on the sabbath, walked in the tillage grounds: and his disciples were hungry, and began to pluck the ears and to eat.
2 Cuando los fariseos vieron esto, le dijeron a Jesús: “¡Mira a tus discípulos! ¡Están haciendo lo que no se debe hacer en Sábado!”
And when the Pharisees saw them, they said to him: See; thy disciples are doing that which it is not lawful to do on the sabbath.
3 Pero Jesús les dijo: “¿No han leído lo que hizo David cuando él y sus hombres tuvieron hambre?
But he said to them, Have ye not read what David did when he was hungry, and they that were with him?
4 Él entró a la casa de Dios, y allí él y sus hombres comieron del pan sagrado que no debían comer pues este pan estaba reservado solo para los sacerdotes.
How he went to the house of God, and ate the bread of the Lord's table; which it was not lawful for him to eat, nor for them that were with him, but solely for the priests?
5 ¿No han leído en la ley que los sacerdotes que están en el Templo quebrantan el sábado pero no son considerados como culpables?
Or have ye not read in the law, how that in the temple the priests profane the sabbath, and are without fault?
6 Sin embargo yo les digo a ustedes: ¡Aquí hay alguien que es aún más grande que el Templo!
But I say to you, that a greater than the temple is here.
7 Si ustedes conocieran el significado de lo que dice la Escritura: ‘misericordia quiero y no sacrificio’, no habrían condenado a un hombre inocente.
And if ye had known what that is, I desire mercy, and not sacrifice; ye would not have criminated them who are without fault.
8 Porque el Hijo del hombre es Señor del Sábado”.
For the Son of man, is lord of the sabbath.
9 Entonces Jesús se fue de allí y entró a la sinagoga de ellos.
And Jesus went from there, and came to their synagogue.
10 Allí había un hombre que tenía la mano tullida. “¿Acaso permite la ley sanar en Sábado?” le preguntaron ellos, buscando así un motivo para acusarlo.
And a man was there, whose hand was withered. And they questioned him and said, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath? that they might defame him.
11 “Supongan que tienen una oveja y ésta se cae en un hueco, en Sábado. ¿Acaso no la agarran y tratan de sacarla?” les preguntó Jesús.
And he said to them, What man among you is there, who, if he have a sheep, and it fall into a pit on the day of the sabbath, doth not lay hold of it and lift it out?
12 “¿No creen ustedes que un ser humano vale mucho más que una oveja? De modo que sí, es permitido hacer el bien en Sábado”.
Now, how much better is a human being than a sheep! Wherefore it is lawful to do what is good, on the sabbath.
13 Entonces le dijo al hombre: “Extiende tu mano”. El hombre entonces extendió su mano y fue sanada, quedando como la otra mano que estaba sana.
Then said he to the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he stretched out his hand; and it was restored, and like the other.
14 Pero los fariseos salieron y conspiraban sobre cómo matar a Jesús.
And the Pharisees went out and held a consultation against him, that they might destroy him.
15 Sabiendo esto, Jesús salió de allí, con una multitud que le seguía. Y Jesús los sanaba a todos,
But Jesus knew it; and he retired from there. And great multitudes followed him: and he cured them all.
16 pero les decía que no dijeran quién era él.
And he charged them not to make him known:
17 Esto cumplió lo que dijo el profeta Isaías:
that what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled, saying:
18 “Este es mi siervo a quien Yo he escogido, Mi siervo a quien amo, el cual me complace. Yo pondré mi Espíritu sobre él, Y él le dirá a los extranjeros lo que es correcto.
Behold my servant, in whom I have complacency; my beloved, in whom my soul delighteth. I will put my spirit upon him; and he shall proclaim judgment to the Gentiles.
19 Él no peleará, no gritará, Y ninguno oirá su voz por las calles.
He shall not contend, nor be clamorous, nor shall any one hear his voice in the market-place.
20 Él no quebrará ni una caña dañada, Y no apagará una mecha que titila, Hasta que haya demostrado que su juicio es justo,
The crushed reed he will not break; and the flickering lamp he will not extinguish; until he bring judgment to be victorious.
21 Y los gentiles pondrán su confianza en él”.
And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
22 Entonces trajeron delante de Jesús a un hombre que estaba endemoniado, ciego y mudo. Jesús lo sanó, y el hombre mudo pudo hablar y ver.
Then they brought to him a demoniac that was dumb and blind; and he healed him, so that the dumb and blind man both talked and saw.
23 Todas las multitudes estaban asombradas, y preguntaban, “¿Será que este es el hijo de David?”
And all the multitude were amazed, and said: Is not this the son of David?
24 Pero cuando los fariseos escucharon esto, respondieron: “¡Este hombre solo puede echar fuera demonios mediante el poder de Belcebú, el jefe de los demonios!”
But when the Pharisees heard it, they said: This man doth not cast out demons, except by Beelzebub the prince of demons.
25 Pero sabiendo lo que ellos estaban pensando, Jesús les dijo: “Cualquier reino que está dividido contra sí mismo, será destruido. Ninguna ciudad que está dividida contra sí misma puede permanecer.
And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: Every kingdom that is divided against itself, will become desolate; and every house or city which is divided against itself, will not stand.
26 Si Satanás echa fuera a Satanás, entonces está dividido contra sí mismo, ¿cómo podría entonces permanecer su reino?
Now if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then doth his kingdom stand?
27 Si yo estoy echando fuera los demonios en el nombre de Belcebú, entonces, ¿en nombre de quién echan fuera demonios los exorcistas de ustedes? ¡Ellos mismos son prueba de que ustedes están equivocados!
And if I by Beelzebub cast out demons, by whom do your children cast them out? Wherefore they will be your judges.
28 ¡Pero si yo echo fuera demonios mediante el poder del Espíritu de Dios, entonces el reino de Dios ha venido a ustedes!
But if I by the Spirit of God cast out demons, the kingdom of God hath come near to you.
29 “¿Puede alguien entrar a la casa de un hombre fuerte y robar sus pertenencias sin atarlo primero? Si haces esto, entonces puedes robar todo lo que hay en su casa.
Or how can one enter the house of a strong man, and plunder his goods, unless he first bind the strong man? and then he may plunder his house.
30 Los que no están conmigo, están contra mí, y los que no se reúnen conmigo hacen lo contrario: están dispersos.
He that is not with me, is against me; and he that gathereth not with me actually scattereth.
31 Esa es la razón por la que les digo que cada pecado y blasfemia que ustedes cometan será perdonada, excepto la blasfemia contra el Espíritu Santo, la cual no será perdonada.
Therefore I say to you, that all sins and contumelies shall be forgiven to men; but the contumely which is against the Spirit, shall not be forgiven to men.
32 Aquellos que digan algo en contra del Hijo del hombre serán perdonados, pero aquellos que digan algo contra el Espíritu Santo no serán perdonados, ni en esta vida ni en la siguiente. (aiōn g165)
And whoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it will be forgiven him: but whoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him; not in this world, and not in the world to come. (aiōn g165)
33 Un árbol bueno se conoce porque su fruto es bueno, y un árbol malo se conoce porque su fruto es malo, pues un árbol se conoce por su fruto.
Either make the tree good, and its fruits good; or make the tree bad, and its fruits bad: for a tree is known by its fruits.
34 ¡Cría de víboras! ¿Cómo pueden ustedes decir algo bueno siendo malos? Pues la boca de ustedes solo dice lo que pasa por sus mentes.
Offspring of vipers, how can ye who are evil, speak good things? For out of the fullnesses of the heart the mouth speaketh.
35 Una buena persona saca cosas buenas de las cosas buenas que tiene guardadas, y una persona mala saca cosas malas de las cosas malas que tiene guardadas.
A good man out of good treasures bringeth forth good things, and a bad man out of bad treasures bringeth forth bad things.
36 Yo les digo, ustedes tendrán que dar cuenta en el Día del Juicio de cada cosa que hayan dicho de manera descuidada.
For I say to you, That for every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account of it in the day of judgment.
37 Porque lo que ustedes digan los vindicará o los condenará”.
For by thy words thou shalt be justified; and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
38 Entonces algunos de los maestros religiosos y fariseos que estaban allí le dijeron: “Maestro, queremos que nos muestres una señal milagrosa”.
Then answered some of the Scribes and of the Pharisees, and said to him: Teacher, we wish to see from thee a sign.
39 “Las personas malvadas que no creen en Dios son las que buscan una señal milagrosa. A esas personas no se les dará ninguna señal sino la señal del profeta Jonás”, les dijo Jesús.
But he replied and said to them: A wicked and adulterous generation demandeth a sign: but a sign will not be given to it, unless it be the sign of Jonah the prophet.
40 “De la misma manera que Jonás estuvo en el vientre de un gran pez durante tres días y tres noches, el Hijo del hombre estará en el corazón de la tierra por tres días y tres noches.
For as Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights; so will the Son of man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.
41 El pueblo de Nínive se levantará en el juicio junto con esta generación y la condenarán, porque ellos se arrepintieron como respuesta al mensaje de Jonás— ¡Y como pueden ver, aquí hay alguien más grande que Jonás!
The people of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment against this generation, and will condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and lo, a greater than Jonah is here.
42 La reina del Sur se levantará en el juicio junto con esta generación y la condenará, porque ella vino desde los fines de la tierra para escuchar la sabiduría de Salomón— ¡Y como pueden ver, aquí hay alguien más grande que Salomón!
The queen of the south will stand up in the judgment against this generation, and will condemn it: for she came from the extremities of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and lo, a superior to Solomon is here.
43 Cuando un espíritu maligno sale de una persona, anda por lugares desiertos buscando descanso, y no encuentra dónde quedarse.
And when an unclean spirit goeth out of a man, it wandereth in places where is no water, and seeketh comfort and findeth it not.
44 Entonces dice: ‘regresaré al lugar de donde salí,’ y cuando regresa, encuentra el lugar vacío, limpio y organizado.
Then it saith: I will return to my house, from which I came out. And it cometh, and findeth it vacated, and swept clean, and set in order.
45 Entonces va y trae consigo otros siete espíritus mucho peores que él, y entra y vive allí. De modo que entonces la persona termina siendo peor de lo que era al comienzo. Así sucederá con esta generación malvada”.
So it goeth and taketh with it seven other spirits, worse than itself, and they enter and dwell in it; and the end of that man is worse than his beginning. So will it be to this evil generation.
46 Mientras Jesús hablaba a las multitudes, su madre y sus hermanos llegaron y lo esperaban fuera, y querían hablar con él.
And while he was discoursing to the multitudes, his mother and his brothers came and stood with out, and sought to speak with him.
47 Entonces alguien vino y le dijo: “mira, tu madre y tus hermanos están afuera y quieren hablar contigo”.
And a person said to him: Lo, thy mother and thy brothers stand without, and seek to speak with thee.
48 “¿Quién es mi madre? ¿Quiénes son mis hermanos?” preguntó Jesús.
But he replied, and said to him that informed him: Who is my mother? and who are my brothers?
49 Entonces Jesús señaló a sus discípulos y dijo: “¡Miren, ellos son mi madre y mis hermanos!
And he stretched forth his hand towards his disciples, and said: Behold my mother, and behold my brothers!
50 Porque los que hacen la voluntad de mi Padre celestial, ¡ellos son mi hermano, mi hermana y mi madre!”
For every one that doeth the good pleasure of my Father who is in heaven, that person is my brother, and my sister, and my mother.
