Marcos 1
1 Este es el principio de la buen noticia sobre Jesucristo, el Hijo de Dios.
The beginning of the Good News of Jesus Christ the Son of God.
2 Tal como escribió el profeta Isaías: “Yo enviaré a mi mensajero delante de ti para que prepare tu camino.
As it is written in Isaiah the Prophet, "See, I am sending My messenger before Thee, Who will prepare Thy way";
3 Una voz clama en el desierto: ‘¡Preparen el camino del Señor! Enderecen sus sendas’”.
"The voice of one crying aloud: 'In the Desert prepare a road for the Lord: Make His highways straight.'"
4 Juan vino y bautizaba en el desierto, anunciando un bautismo de arrepentimiento para perdón de pecados.
So John the Baptizer came, and was in the Desert proclaiming a baptism of the penitent for forgiveness of sins.
5 Los habitantes de de Judea y de Jerusalén iban a él, confesaban públicamente sus pecados y eran bautizados en el río Jordán.
There went out to him people of all classes from Judaea, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem of all ranks, and were baptized by him in the river Jordan, making open confession of their sins.
6 Juan usaba vestiduras hechas de pelo de camello, con un cinturón de cuero. Comía langostas y miel silvestre.
As for John, his garment was of camel's hair, and he wore a loincloth of leather; and his food was locusts and wild honey.
7 Y esto era lo que predicaba: “Después de mi viene uno que es más grande que yo. Yo no soy digno de agacharme y desatar sus sandalias.
His announcement was, "There is One coming after me mightier than I--One whose sandal-strap I am unworthy to stoop down and unfasten.
8 Yo a ustedes los bauticé con agua, pero él los bautizará con el Espíritu Santo”.
I have baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."
9 Entonces Jesús vino de Nazaret, en Galilea, y fue bautizado por Juan en el río Jordán.
At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan;
10 Cuando Jesús salió del agua, vio que los cielos se abrieron y vio al Espíritu que descendía sobre Jesús como una paloma.
and immediately on His coming up out of the water He saw an opening in the sky, and the Spirit like a dove coming down to Him;
11 Entonces una voz del cielo dijo: “Tú eres mi hijo, al que amo. Estoy muy agradado de ti”.
and a voice came from the sky, saying, "Thou art My Son dearly loved: in Thee is My delight."
12 Justo después de esto, el Espíritu lo envió al desierto,
At once the Spirit impelled Him to go out into the Desert,
13 donde fue tentado por Satanás durante cuarenta días. Allí estaba con los animales salvajes y los ángeles cuidaban de él.
where He remained for forty days, tempted by Satan; and He was among the wild beasts, but the angels waited upon Him.
14 Más adelante, después que Juan fue arrestado, Jesús fue a Galilea, anunciando la buena noticia acerca de Dios.
Then, after John had been thrown into prison, Jesus came into Galilee proclaiming God's Good News.
15 “El tiempo que estaba predicho ha llegado”, decía. “El reino de Dios está cerca. Arrepiéntanse y crean en la Buena Noticia”.
"The time has fully come," He said, "and the Kingdom of God is close at hand: repent, and believe this Good News.
16 Mientras caminaba junto al Mar de Galilea, Jesús vio a Simón y a su hermano Andrés lanzando una red al agua, pues ellos se ganaban la vida como pescadores.
One day, passing along the shore of the Lake of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew, Simon's brother, throwing their nets in the Lake; for they were fisherman.
17 “Vengan y síganme”, les dijo, “y yo haré que sean pescadores de personas”.
"Come and follow me," said Jesus, "and I will make you fishers for men."
18 Entonces ellos dejaron inmediatamente a un lado sus redes y lo siguieron.
At once they left their nets and followed Him.
19 Entonces Jesús caminó un poco más y vio a Santiago y a su hermano Juan, los hijos de Zebedeo. Ellos estaban en una embarcación, arreglando sus redes.
Going on a little further He saw James the son of Zabdi and his brother John: they also were in the boat mending the nets, and He immediately called them.
20 De inmediato los llamó para que lo siguieran, y ellos dejaron a su padre Zebedeo en la embarcación con los trabajadores, y siguieron a Jesús.
They therefore left their father Zabdi in the boat with the hired men, and went and followed Him.
21 Partieron de allí hacia Capernaúm, y el sábado Jesús entró a la sinagoga y allí enseñaba.
So they came to Capernaum, and on the next Sabbath He went to the synagogue and began to teach.
22 La gente estaba maravillada de su enseñanza, porque él hablaba con autoridad, no como los maestros religiosos.
The people listened with amazement to His teaching--for there was authority about it: it was very different from that of the Scribes--
23 De repente, allí en la sinagoga, un hombre con un espíritu malo comenzó a gritar.
when all at once, there in their synagogue, a man under the power of a foul spirit screamed out:
24 “Jesús de Nazaret, ¿por qué nos molestas?” gritaba. “¿Has venido a destruirnos? ¡Yo sé quién eres! ¡Tú eres el Santo de Dios!”
"What have you to do with us, Jesus the Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are--God's Holy One."
25 Jesús interrumpió al espíritu malo diciéndole: “¡Cállate! Sal de él”.
But Jesus reprimanded him, saying, "Silence! come out of him."
26 El espíritu malo gritaba, luego hizo convulsionar al hombre y finalmente salió de él.
So the foul spirit, after throwing the man into convulsions, came out of him with a loud cry.
27 Todos estaban asombrados ante lo que había ocurrido. “¿Qué es esto?” se preguntaban unos a otros. “¿Qué enseñanza nueva es esta, que tiene tanta autoridad? ¡Hasta los espíritus le obedecen!”
And all were amazed and awe-struck, so they began to ask one another, "What does this mean? Here is a new sort of teaching--and a tone of authority! And even to foul spirits he issues orders and they obey him!"
28 Y las noticias acerca de Jesús se esparcieron rápidamente por toda la región de Galilea.
And His fame spread at once everywhere in all that part of Galilee.
29 Entonces ellos salieron de la sinagoga y se fueron a la casa de Simón y Andrés, junto con Santiago y Juan.
Then on leaving the synagogue they came at once, with James and John, to the house of Simon and Andrew.
30 Pero la suegra de Simón estaba enferma, acostada en la cama, y con fiebre. Entonces se lo dijeron a Jesús.
Now Simon's mother-in-law was ill in bed with a fever, and without delay they informed Him about her.
31 Jesús fue donde ella estaba, la tomó de la mano y la ayudó a levantarse. De inmediato la fiebre se le quitó, y entonces ella les preparó una comida.
So He went to her, and taking her hand He raised her to her feet: the fever left her, and she began to wait upon them.
32 Esa tarde, después de la puesta del sol, trajeron delante de Jesús a muchos enfermos y endemoniados.
When it was evening, after sunset people came bringing Him all who were sick and the demoniacs;
33 Toda la ciudad se reunió afuera.
and the whole town was assembled at the door.
34 Él sanaba a muchas personas que padecían diferentes enfermedades y expulsaba muchos demonios. Jesús no permitía que los demonios hablaran, porque ellos sabían quién era él.
Then He cured numbers of people who were ill with various diseases, and He drove out many demons; not allowing the demons to speak, because they knew who He was.
35 Muy temprano en la mañana, mientras aún estaba oscuro, Jesús se levantó y se fue a solas a un lugar tranquilo para orar.
In the morning He rose early, while it was still quite dark, and leaving the house He went away to a solitary place and there prayed.
36 Simón y los otros discípulos fueron a buscarlo.
And Simon and the others searched everywhere for Him.
37 Cuando lo encontraron, le dijeron: “Todos te están buscando”.
When they found Him they said, "Every one is looking for you."
38 Pero Jesús respondió: “Tenemos que ir a otras ciudades cercanas para contarles la Buena Noticia a ellos también, pues por eso vine”, les dijo.
"Let us go elsewhere, to the neighbouring country towns," He replied, "that I may proclaim my Message there also; because for that purpose I came from God."
39 Así que Jesús se fue por toda Galilea, hablando en las sinagogas y expulsando demonios.
And He went through all Galilee, preaching in the synagogues and expelling the demons.
40 Entonces un leproso vino a él pidiéndole ayuda. El hombre se arrodilló delante de Jesús y le dijo: “¡Por favor, si quieres, puedes sanarme!”
One day there came a leper to Jesus entreating Him, and pleading on his knees. "If you are willing," he said, "you are able to cleanse me."
41 Jesús se extendió hacia él con compasión y lo tocó, y le dijo: “Quiero. ¡Queda sano!”
Moved with pity Jesus reached out His hand and touched him. "I am willing," He said; "be cleansed."
42 Entonces la lepra se fue por completo de su cuerpo, y quedó sano.
The leprosy at once left him, and he was cleansed.
43 Jesús lo envió de regreso con una advertencia muy importante:
Jesus at once sent him away, strictly charging him,
44 “Asegúrate de no decirle a nadie acerca de esto”, le dijo. “Ve donde el sacerdote y preséntate delante de él. Da la ofrenda que exige la ley de Moisés por tal limpieza, para que el pueblo tenga una prueba de ello”.
and saying, "Be careful not to tell any one, but go and show yourself to the Priest, and for your purification present the offerings that Moses appointed as evidence for them."
45 Pero el hombre que había sido sanado se fue y le contó a todos lo que había ocurrido. Como resultado de ello, Jesús ya no podía ir más a las ciudades abiertamente, sino que tenía que quedarse en el campo, donde las personas venían a buscarlo desde todas partes.
But the man, when he went out, began to tell every one and to publish the matter abroad, so that it was no longer possible for Jesus to go openly into any town; but He had to remain outside in unfrequented places, where people came to Him from all parts.
