Marcos 13
1 Cuando Jesús salía del Templo, uno de sus discípulos le dijo: “¡Maestro, mira toda esa cantidad de piedras y esas magníficas edificaciones!”
And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!
2 “¿Ves todos eso?” le respondió Jesús. “No quedará piedra sobre piedra. Todo será derribado”.
And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
3 Al sentarse en el Monte de los Olivos, mirando el Templo, Pedro, Santiago, Juan y Andrés le preguntaron en privado:
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,
4 “Dinos cuándo ocurrirá esto. ¿Cuál es la señal de que todo esto está a punto de cumplirse?”
Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?
5 Jesús comenzó a decirles: “No dejen que nadie los engañe.
And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:
6 Muchos vendrán en mi nombre, diciendo: ‘Yo soy el Cristo’. Así engañarán a muchas personas.
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
7 No se asusten cuando escuchen de guerras aquí y allá. Estas cosas deben suceder pero este no es el fin.
And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.
8 Las naciones pelearán unas contra otras, y los reinos unos contra otros. Habrá terremotos en diferentes lugres y también hambrunas. Estos son los comienzos de los dolores de parto que sufrirá el mundo.
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
9 “¡Cuídense! Ellos los entregarán a ustedes a las cortes para ser juzgados. Ustedes serán golpeados en las sinagogas. Y por mi causa ustedes tendrán que estar en pie frente a gobernantes y reyes, y ustedes les testificarán.
But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.
10 “Y es necesario que primero se anuncie la Buena Noticia en toda nación.
And the gospel must first be published among all nations.
11 Cuando ellos vengan a arrestarlos y juzgarlos, no se preocupen por lo que vayan a decir. Digan lo que se les diga en ese momento, porque no serán ustedes los que hablen, sino el Espíritu Santo.
But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
12 “El hermano entregará a su hermano a la muerte, y el padre entregará a su hijo. Los hijos se volverán en contra de sus padres y harán que los condenen a muerte.
Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.
13 Ustedes serán odiados por todos, por mi causa, pero todo el que persevere hasta el fin será salvo.
And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14 “Pero cuando vean la ‘abominación desoladora’ en el lugar donde no debe estar (el que lee, que entienda), entonces los que estén en Judea deben correr a las montañas.
But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, ( let him that readeth understand, ) then let them that be in Judæa flee to the mountains:
15 Los que estén en el techo, no entren de regreso a la casa a buscar nada.
And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:
16 Los que están afuera, en los campos, no vayan a la casa a buscar un abrigo.
And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.
17 ¡Cuán difícil será para las que estén embarazadas o lactando en esos días!
But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
18 Oren para que esto no ocurra durante el invierno.
And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.
19 Porque estos serán días de tribulación como nunca ha habido desde el principio de la creación de Dios hasta ahora, y nunca más habrá.
For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.
20 Si Dios no acortase esos días, nadie sobreviviría. Sin embargo, por causa de los que Dios ha escogido, él ha acortado esos días.
And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect’s sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
21 “De modo que si alguno les dice: ‘miren, aquí está el Mesías,’ o ‘miren, está allá,’ no lo crean.
And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
22 Porque aparecerán falsos Mesías y falsos profetas, y harán milagros y maravillas para engañar, si fuese posible, a los escogidos de Dios.
For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
23 ¡Tengan cuidado! Yo les he dicho todo antes de que suceda”.
But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
24 “Esto es lo que ocurrirá después de esas tribulaciones: ‘el sol se oscurecerá, la luna no brillará,
But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
25 las estrellas caerán del cielo, y los poderes en los cielos serán conmovidos’.
And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
26 “Entonces verán al Hijo del hombre venir en las nubes, con gran poder y gloria.
And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
27 Él enviará a los ángeles, y reunirá a todos sus escogidos desde donde estén, desde las partes más lejanas de la tierra hasta el punto más lejano del cielo.
And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
28 “Aprendan la lección de la higuera: cuando sus ramas crecen suaves y se caen sus hojas, ya saben que el verano está cerca.
Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:
29 De la misma manera, cuando vean suceder estas cosas, ya sabrán que está cerca, ¡justo a las puertas!
So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.
30 Les digo la verdad, esta generación no llegará a su fin hasta que estas cosas hayan ocurrido.
Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.
31 El cielo y la tierra llegarán a su fin, pero mis enseñanzas no.
Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
32 “Nadie sabe el día ni la hora en que esto ocurrirá, ni siquiera los ángeles que están en el cielo, ni siquiera el Hijo; solo el Padre lo sabe.
But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
33 ¡Estén atentos! ¡Estén despiertos! Porque ustedes no saben cuándo sucederá esto.
Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
34 Es como un hombre que se fue de viaje. Se fue de la casa y le dio autoridad a cada uno de sus sirvientes para hacer lo que él les había dicho. Pero al portero le dijo que se mantuviera despierto.
For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
35 “Así que estén vigilantes, porque no saben en qué momento regresará el dueño de la casa. Puede ser al anochecer, a la media noche, antes del amanecer, o en la mañana.
Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
36 Más vale que no estén durmiendo si el dueño regresa sorpresivamente.
Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
37 Lo que les digo a ustedes, lo digo a todos: ¡Estén vigilantes!”
And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
