Marcos 11
1 Cuando se acercaban a Jerusalén, estando cerca de Betfagé y Betania, Jesús envió a dos discípulos para que se adelantaran.
Now when they were drawing near Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, He sent two of His disciples,
2 Y les dijo: “Vayan a la aldea que sigue, y tan pronto como entren allí, encontrarán un pollino atado, el cual ninguno ha montado todavía. Desátenlo y tráiganlo aquí.
saying to them: “Go into the village opposite you; and as soon as you enter it you will find a foal tied, on which no man has sat. Untie and bring it.
3 Si alguno les pregunta qué están haciendo, díganles: ‘El Señor lo necesita y lo devolverá pronto’”.
And if anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord has need of it,’ and thereupon he will send it here.”
4 Entonces ellos partieron de allí, y encontraron un pollino atado a una puerta, afuera en la calle, y lo desataron.
So they went and found the foal tied at the door, out in the street, and they loosed it.
5 Y algunos de los que estaban allí cerca de ellos les preguntaron: “¿Qué hacen desatando a ese potro”?
Some of those who stood there said to them, “What are you doing, untying the foal?”
6 Entonces los discípulos respondieron tal como Jesús les había dicho, y las personas los dejaron ir.
So they answered them just as Jesus had instructed, and they let them go.
7 Entonces le trajeron a Jesús el pollino, le pusieron sus abrigos encima y Jesús se sentó sobre él.
Then they brought the foal to Jesus, and they placed their clothes on it, and He sat on it.
8 Y muchas personas extendían sus abrigos por el camino, mientras otros colocaban ramas que habían cortado en los campos.
And many spread their clothes on the road, while others were cutting leafy branches from the trees and spreading them on the road.
9 Los que iban al frente y los que seguían atrás, todos gritaban: “¡Hosanna! Bendito el que viene en el nombre del Señor.
Both those who went in front and those who followed started calling out, saying: “Hosanna!” “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!”
10 ¡Bendito el reino de nuestro padre David que ya se acerca! ¡Hosanna en las alturas!”
“Blessed is the Kingdom of our father David that is coming in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest!”
11 Jesús llegó a Jerusalén y entró al Templo. Allí comenzó a mirar a su alrededor, observando cada cosa, y entonces, como se hacía tarde, regresó a Betania con los doce discípulos.
So Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the temple. And when He had looked around at everything, the hour being late, He went out to Bethany with the twelve.
12 Al día siguiente, después de salir de Betania, Jesús tuvo hambre.
Now the next day, as they were leaving Bethany, He was hungry.
13 Y desde cierta distancia, vio una higuera con hojas, así que fue hacia ella para ver si tenía algún fruto. Pero cuando llegó allí, se dio cuenta de que solo tenía hojas, porque no era la temporada de higos.
And seeing from a distance a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it He found nothing but leaves, because it was not fig season.
14 Entonces le dijo a la higuera: “Que de ti no vuelva a salir más fruto”. Y sus discípulos escucharon sus palabras. (aiōn g165)
So Jesus reacted by saying to it, “Let no one ever eat fruit from you again!” And His disciples were listening. (aiōn g165)
15 Llegaron nuevamente a Jerusalén, y Jesús entró al Templo. Y comenzó a sacar a las personas que estaban comprando y vendiendo dentro del Templo. Volteó las mesas de los cambistas y las sillas de los que vendían palomas.
So they came to Jerusalem, and entering the temple Jesus began to drive out those who sold and bought in the temple, and He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of the dove sellers.
16 Entonces detuvo a todos los que llevaban cosas para el Templo.
And He would not allow anyone to carry a container through the temple.
17 Y les explicó: “¿Acaso no dice la Escritura: ‘Mi casa será llamada casa de oración para todas las naciones’? ¡Pero ustedes la han convertido en una guarida de ladrones!”
And He kept teaching them by saying: “Is it not written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? but you have made it ‘a den of robbers’!”
18 Los jefes de los sacerdotes y maestros religiosos escucharon lo que había ocurrido, y trataban de encontrar la manera de matar a Jesús. Pero le tenían miedo, porque todos estaban muy impresionados por sus enseñanzas.
Well the scribes and the chief priests heard it, and kept on looking for a way to destroy Him; because they were afraid of Him, in that all the people were astonished at His teaching.
19 Cuando llegó la noche, Jesús y sus discípulos se marcharon de la ciudad.
When evening came, He went out of the city.
20 A la mañana siguiente regresaron, vieron la higuera, y se había marchitado toda desde la raíz.
Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
21 Y Pedro recordó lo que Jesús había hecho, y le dijo: “Maestro, mira, la higuera que maldijiste se ha marchitado”.
And Peter, remembering, said to Him: “Rabbi, look! The fig tree that you cursed has dried up!”
22 “Crean en Dios”, respondió Jesús.
So in answer Jesus said to them: “Have faith in God.
23 “Créanme cuando les digo que si ustedes le dijeran a esta montaña: ‘Vete de aquí y lánzate al mar,’ y no dudan en sus corazones, sino que están convencidos de lo que están pidiendo, ¡entonces así pasará!
Because I tell you assuredly, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be picked up and be thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that the things he says will happen, he will have whatever he says.
24 Les estoy diciendo que todo aquello por lo que oren, todo lo que pidan, crean que lo han recibido, y así será.
That is why I say to you, whatever things you ask for in prayer, believe that you receive, and you will have them.
25 Pero cuando estén orando, si tienen algo contra alguien, perdónenle, para que así el Padre, que está en el cielo, también pueda perdonar los pecados de ustedes”.
“And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your trespasses.
But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your trespasses.”
27 Entonces regresaron a Jerusalén, y mientras caminaba en el Templo, los jefes de los sacerdotes, los maestros religiosos y los líderes se acercaron a él.
Then they came again to Jerusalem. And as He was walking in the temple, the chief priests, the scribes and the elders came to Him.
28 “¿Con qué autoridad estás haciendo todo esto?” le reclamaron. “¿Quién te dio ese derecho?”
And they said to Him, “By what authority are you doing these things?” and “Who gave you this authority to do these things?”
29 “Déjenme hacerles una pregunta”, les dijo Jesús. “Si me responden, yo les diré con qué autoridad hago estas cosas.
So in answer Jesus said to them: “I also will ask you one question; answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
30 El bautismo de Juan, ¿provenía del cielo, o de los hombres?”
The baptism of John: was it from heaven or from men?”
31 Entonces ellos debatían entre sí. Y decían: “Si decimos que venía del cielo, el responderá ‘¿Por qué no creyeron en él?’
They considered among themselves, saying: “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘So why did you not believe him?’
32 Pero si decimos que era de origen humano, pues…” Y tenían miedo de la multitud, porque todos creían que Juan era un verdadero profeta.
But if we say, ‘From men’…”—they feared the people, for everyone held John to really be a prophet.
33 Entonces le respondieron a Jesús: “No sabemos”. “Entonces yo no les diré quién me dio la autoridad de hacer estas cosas”, respondió Jesús.
So they answered Jesus by saying, “We don't know.” And in answer Jesus said to them, “Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.”
