San Lucas 24
1 Muy temprano, el primer día de la semana, las mujeres fueron a la tumba, llevando las especias que habían preparado.
NOW on the first day of the week, at the earliest dawn of day, they came to the sepulchre, bringing the aromatics which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
2 Descubrieron que alguien había rodado la piedra de la entrada de la tumba,
And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
3 pero cuando entraron, no encontraron el cuerpo del Señor Jesús.
And on entering, found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
4 Mientras se preguntaban qué estaba sucediendo, aparecieron dos hombres repentinamente, vestidos con ropas que brillaban de manera deslumbrante.
And it came to pass, as they were in the greatest perplexity concerning this matter, then behold, two men stood by them in refulgent garments:
5 Las mujeres estaban aterrorizadas y se inclinaron, con sus rostros en tierra. Entonces ellos dijeron a las mujeres: “¿Por qué buscan entre los muertos a alguien que está vivo?
and when they were exceedingly terrified, and inclined their face to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
6 Él no está aquí; ¡ha resucitado de entre los muertos! Recuerden que él les dijo cuando estaban en galilea:
he is not here; he is risen: remember how he spoke to you, while he was yet in Galilee,
7 ‘El Hijo del hombre debe ser entregado en manos de hombres malvados y crucificado, pero el tercer día se levantará de nuevo’”.
saying, That the Son of man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
8 Entonces ellas se acordaron de lo que él había dicho.
And they remembered his declarations,
9 Cuando regresaron de la tumba informaron a los once discípulos y a los demás todo lo que había ocurrido.
and returning from the sepulchre, told all these things to the eleven, and to the rest.
10 Y las que le contaron a los apóstoles lo que había sucedido fueron María Magdalena, Juana, María la madre de Santiago y otras mujeres que estaban con ellas.
Now there were Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and the other women who were with them, that told these things to the apostles.
11 Pero esto parecía algo sin sentido, y no les creyeron.
And their declarations seemed in their view as a mere fancy, and they gave them no credence.
12 Sin embargo, Pedro se levantó y corrió hacia la tumba. E inclinándose, miró hacia adentro y vio solamente los trapos fúnebres de lino. Entonces se devolvió a su casa, preguntándose qué había ocurrido.
Then Peter rising up, ran off to the sepulchre, and leaning forward saw the linen clothes laid separately, and went away wondering in himself what was become of him.
13 Ese mismo día, dos discípulos iban de camino a una aldea llamada Emaús, que estaba a siete millas de Jerusalén, aproximadamente.
And behold, two of them were going the same day to a village, distant about sixty furlongs from Jerusalem, called Emmaus.
14 Ellos hablaban sobre todo lo que había sucedido.
And they were conversing with each other, concerning all those things which had happened.
15 Y mientras debatían y hablaban, Jesús apareció y comenzó a caminar con ellos.
And it came to pass, as they were conversing together, and talking the matter over, even Jesus himself drew near, and walked on with them.
16 Pero se les impidió que lo reconocieran.
But their eyes were under a restraint, that they might not discover him.
17 “¿Sobre qué hablan?” les preguntó. Ellos se detuvieron, y sus rostros estaban tristes.
And he said unto them, What are these discourses that ye interchange among you, as ye are walking, and bear such a face of dejection?
18 Uno de ellos, llamado Cleofas, respondió: “¿Acaso eres solo un visitante de Jerusalén? De seguro eres la única persona que no sabe sobre las cosas que han ocurrido en los últimos días”.
Then one of them, named Cleopas, answering said, Art thou the only sojourner at Jerusalem, who hath not known the singular events of those days?
19 “¿Qué cosas?” preguntó Jesús. “Sobre Jesús de Nazaret”, respondieron ellos, “Él era un profeta que hablaba con gran poder y realizó grandes milagros ante Dios y todo el pueblo.
And he said to them, Of what sort? and they said to him, Those which relate to Jesus the Nazarean, who was a man, a prophet, mighty in word and deed before God and all the people:
20 Pero nuestros sumos sacerdotes y líderes lo condenaron a muerte y lo crucificaron.
and how our chief priests and rulers delivered him up to a sentence of death, and crucified him.
21 Nosotros esperábamos que él fuera el que iba a rescatar a Israel. Ya hace tres días que ocurrió todo esto”.
But we had entertained hopes that this was the person who should have redeemed Israel: and ah! besides all these things, to-day concludes that third day since these things were done.
22 “Pero entonces algunas de las mujeres de nuestro grupo nos sorprendieron.
And indeed, certain women belonging to us exceedingly amazed us who were very early at the sepulchre;
23 Ellas fueron a la tumba de mañana y no encontraron su cuerpo. Y regresaron diciendo que habían tenido una visión de unos ángeles que les dijeron que él está vivo.
and not finding his body, came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, who told them that he was alive.
24 Entonces algunos de nuestros hombres fueron a la tumba, y la encontraron tal como ellas dijeron, pero no lo vimos”.
And some of those who were with us went to the sepulchre, and found every thing just as the women had said: but him they did not see.
25 Entonces Jesús les dijo: “¡Ustedes son tan necios! ¡Cuán lentos son para creer en todo lo que los profetas dijeron!
And he said unto them, O ye void of understanding, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!
26 ¿Acaso el Mesías no tenía que sufrir antes de entrar a su gloria?”
Ought not the Messiah to suffer these things, and to enter into his glory?
27 Entonces, comenzado desde Moisés y todos los profetas, les explicó todo lo que las Escrituras decían sobre él.
And beginning from Moses and all the prophets, he explained to them in all the scriptures, the things relating to himself.
28 Cuando se acercaron a la aldea a la cual se dirigían, Jesús les hizo creer como que iba más lejos que ellos.
And they drew nigh to the village, whither they were going: and he was proceeding on, as if going farther.
29 Pero ellos le instaron a quedarse, diciendo: “Por favor, ven y quédate con nosotros. Se hace tarde y el día ya se acaba”. Entonces él entró a quedarse con ellos.
And they warmly pressed him, saying, Stay with us: for the evening draws on, and the day declines. And he went in to stay with them.
30 Cuando se sentó para comer con ellos, tomó el pan y dio gracias, lo partió y se los dio.
And it came to pass, when he was sitting down at table with them, taking up a loaf, he blessed it, and breaking, distributed it to them.
31 Entonces sus ojos se abrieron, y lo reconocieron. Y entonces él desapareció de su vista.
Then their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he became invisible to them.
32 Los dos discípulos se dijeron el uno al otro: “¿Acaso no ardían nuestros pensamientos cuando él nos hablaba y nos explicaba las Escrituras?”
And they said to each other, Did not our hearts burn within us, as he talked with us on the road, and as he distinctly opened to us the scriptures?
33 Entonces se levantaron y regresaron a Jerusalén. Allí encontraron a los once discípulos y a otros que estaban reunidos con ellos,
And rising up the same hour, they returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them crowded together,
34 quienes dijeron: “¡En verdad el Señor ha resucitado! Se le apareció a Simón”.
saying, The Lord is risen assuredly, and hath appeared to Simon.
35 Entonces los que acababan de llegar explicaron a los discípulos lo que les había sucedido en el camino, y cómo habían reconocido a Jesús cuando partió el pan.
Then these recounted what had passed on the road, and how he was known to them by the breaking of the bread.
36 Y mientras aún hablaban, el mismo Jesús apareció entre ellos, y dijo: “¡La paz sea con ustedes!”
While they were relating these things, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you!
37 Ellos estaban sorprendidos y asustados, pensando que veían a un fantasma.
But terrified and affrighted, they thought they saw a spirit.
38 “¿Por qué están asustados? ¿Por qué dudan?” les preguntó.
And he said to them, Why are ye under such agitation of mind? and why do reasonings arise in your hearts?
39 “Miren mis manos y mis pies, miren que soy yo. Tóquenme y saldrán de dudas, porque un espíritu no tiene carne ni huesos, así como ven que yo tengo”.
look upon my hands and my feet, that it is my very self: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
40 Y habiendo dicho esto, les mostró sus manos y pies.
And thus speaking, he exposed to them his hands and his feet.
41 Pero ellos aún no podían creerlo porque estaban muy eufóricos y asombrados. Entonces les preguntó: “¿Tienen algo de comer?”
But when they still could not credit it for joy, and marvelled, he said unto them, Have ye here any thing eatable?
42 Y ellos le dieron un pescado cocido,
Then they gave him a part of a broiled fish, and a piece of honey-comb.
43 y él lo tomó y lo comió en frente de ellos.
And receiving it, he did eat in their presence.
44 Entonces Jesús les dijo: “Esto es lo que les explicaba cuando aún estaba con ustedes. Todo lo que estaba escrito sobre mí en la ley de Moisés, los profetas y los salmos, tenía que cumplirse”.
And said unto them, These are the sayings which I spake unto you, when I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which are written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the Psalms, concerning me.
45 Luego abrió sus mentes para que pudieran entender las Escrituras.
Then opened he thoroughly their understanding, that they should understand the scriptures,
46 Y les dijo: “Así estaba escrito, que el Mesías sufriría y se levantaría en el tercer día de entre los muertos, y que en su nombre
and said to them, That thus it is written, and thus must the Messiah suffer, and rise again from the dead the third day
47 se predicaría el perdón de pecados a todas las naciones, empezando desde Jerusalén.
and that repentance and remission of sin should be preached in his name unto all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
48 Ustedes son testigos de todo esto.
And ye are the witnesses of these things.
49 Ahora voy a enviarlos lo que mi Padre prometió, pero esperen en la ciudad hasta que reciban poder del cielo”.
And, behold, I send unto you the promise of my Father: but sit ye down in the city of Jerusalem, until ye shall be endued with power from on high.
50 Entonces los llevó cerca de Betania, y levantando sus manos, los bendijo.
And he led them without the city as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them.
51 Mientras los bendecía, los dejó, y fue llevado al cielo.
And it came to pass, as he pronounced the benediction upon them, he was parted from them, and taken up into heaven.
52 Ellos lo alabaron, y luego regresaron a Jerusalén llenos de alegría.
And they, after paying him their adorations, returned to Jerusalem with vast joy:
53 Y pasaban todo el tiempo en el Templo, alabando a Dios.
and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
