Josué 2
1 Entonces Josué, hijo de Nun, envió en secreto a dos espías de Sitín. Y les dijo: “Vayan y exploren la tierra, especialmente el territorio de Jericó”. Entonces ellos se fueron, y se hospedaron en la casa de una mujer llamada Rahab, que era una prostituta. Allí pasaron la noche.
And he sent Joshua [the] son of Nun from Shittim two men spies secretly saying go see the land and Jericho and they went and they went [the] house of a woman a prostitute and name her [was] Rahab and they lay down there.
2 Pero al rey de Jericó le informaron: “Mira, unos israelitas han venido aquí esta noche para espiar el territorio”.
And it was told to [the] king of Jericho saying here! men they have come hither this night from [the] people of Israel to spy out the land.
3 Así que el rey de Jericó envió órdenes a Rahab, diciéndole: “Entrega a los hombres que vinieron a visitarte y quédate en tu casa, porque han venido a espiar todo nuestro país”.
And he sent [the] king of Jericho to Rahab saying bring out the men who came to you who they came to house your for to spy out all the land they have come.
4 La mujer se había llevado a los dos hombres y los había escondido. Y le dijo a los mensajeros del rey: “Sí, es verdad, los hombres vinieron a visitarme, pero no sabía de dónde eran.
And she took the woman [the] two the men and she hid him and she said - right they came to me the men and not I knew from where [were] they.
5 Se fueron al atardecer, justo cuando se cerraba la puerta de la ciudad. No tengo ni idea de adónde fueron. Si son rápidos, pueden ir tras ellos y quizás los alcancen”.
And it was the gate [about] to shut at darkness and the men they went out not I know where? did they go the men pursue quickly after them for you will overtake them.
6 (Ella los había llevado hasta el tejado y los había escondido debajo de unos fardos de lino que tenía allí).
And she she had taken up them the roof towards and she had hidden them among [the] flax of the tree that had been arranged by her on the roof.
7 Los mensajeros del rey fueron tras los hombres por el camino que lleva a la orilla del río Jordán. Tan pronto como los perseguidores se fueron, la puerta de la ciudad se cerró tras de ellos.
And the men they pursued after them [the] road of the Jordan to the fords and the gate people closed after just when they had gone out the pursuers after them.
8 Antes de que los espías se durmieran, Rahab subió al tejado para hablar con ellos.
And they not yet they had lain down! and she she went up to them on the roof.
9 Les dijo: “Sé que el Señor les ha dado esta tierra. Todos estamos aterrorizados de ustedes. Todos los que viven aquí temen en gran manera desde que ustedes llegaron.
And she said to the men I know that he has given Yahweh to you the land and that it has fallen dread your on us and that they have melted away all [the] inhabitants of the land because of you.
10 Hemos oído cómo el Señor secó las aguas del Mar Rojo delante ustedes cuando salieron de Egipto, y lo que le hicieron a los dos reyes de los amorreos al Este del Jordán, Sijón y Og, a quienes destruyeron por completo.
For we have heard this: he dried up Yahweh [the] waters of [the] sea of reed[s] from before you when came out you from Egypt and [that] which you did to [the] two [the] kings of the Amorite[s] who [was] on [the] other side of the Jordan to Sihon and to Og whom you totally destroyed them.
11 Al oír esto, nuestro ánimo decayó. A nadie le quedó ningún espíritu de lucha por causa de ustedes. Porque el Señor su Dios es Dios arriba en el cielo y abajo en la tierra.
And we heard and it melted heart our and not it arose again spirit in anyone because of you for Yahweh God your he [is] God in the heavens above and on the earth beneath.
12 Así que ahora prométanme en el nombre del Señor que como he actuado de buena fe con ustedes, entonces ustedes harán lo mismo por mi familia. Denme una señal de que puedo confiar en ustedes,
And therefore swear please to me by Yahweh for I have done with you loyalty and you will do also you with [the] household of father my loyalty and you will give to me a sign of faithfulness.
13 y que apartarán a mi padre y a mi madre, así como a mis hermanos y hermanas, y a todos los que forman parte de sus familias, y que los salvarán de la muerte”.
And you will let live father my and mother my and brothers my and (sisters my *Q(K)*) and all who [belong] to them and you will deliver lives our from death.
14 “¡Nuestras vidas por las vidas de ellos!” le respondieron los hombres. “Si no le dices a nadie sobre esto, te trataremos justa y fielmente cuando el Señor nos entregue la tierra”.
And they said to her the men life our for you to die if not you will tell business our this and it will be when gives Yahweh to us the land and we will do with you loyalty and faithfulness.
15 Entonces ella los hizo descender con una cuerda por la ventana, pues la casa donde vivía estaba construida en el exterior de la muralla de la ciudad.
And she let down them with rope through the window for house her [was] in [the] wall of the city wall and in the city wall she [was] dwelling.
16 “Corran hacia las colinas”, les dijo. “Así quienes los persiguen no los encontrarán. Quédense allí tres días hasta que ellos se hayan ido a casa, y entonces podrán seguir su camino”.
And she said to them the hill country towards go lest they should meet you the pursuers and you will hide yourselves there three days until return the pursuers and after you will go to way your.
17 Los hombres le habían dicho: “Seremos liberados de la promesa que nos hiciste jurar,
And they said to her the men [will be] free we from oath your this which you made swear us.
18 a menos que cuando entremos en esta tierra, cuelgues un cordón escarlata en la ventana por la que nos bajaste. Debes reunir en la casa a tu padre, tu madre y tus hermanos, y a toda la familia.
Here! we [are] about to come in the land [the] cord of [the] thread of the scarlet this you will bind in the window which you let down us in it and father your and mother your and brothers your and all [the] household of father your you will gather to you the house towards.
19 Si alguien sale de tu casa y es asesinado, es su culpa y no somos responsables de su muerte. Pero si alguien pone una mano sobre alguien que está dentro de su casa, asumimos toda la responsabilidad de su muerte.
And it will be every [one] who he will go out from [the] doors of house your - the outside towards blood his [will be] on own head his and we [will be] free and every [one] who he will be with you in the house blood his [will be] on head our if a hand it will be on him.
20 Pero si le dices a alguien sobre esto entonces seremos liberados de la promesa que nos hiciste jurar”.
And if you will tell business our this and we will be free from oath your which you made swear us.
21 “Estoy de acuerdo, que sea como ustedes lo han dicho”, respondió. Y así los envió, y colgó un cordón escarlata en su ventana.
And she said according to words your [be] so it and she sent off them and they went and she bound [the] cord of the scarlet in the window.
22 Ellos subieron a las colinas y se quedaron allí tres días. Los hombres que los perseguían buscaron por todo elcamino pero no pudieron encontrarlos, así que volvieron a casa.
And they went and they came the hill country towards and they remained there three days until they returned the pursuers and they searched the pursuers in all the way and not they found [them].
23 Entonces los dos hombres regresaron. Bajaron de las colinas y cruzaron el Jordán. Fueron a ver a Josué y le explicaron todo lo que les había pasado.
And they returned [the] two the men and they went down from the hill country and they passed over and they came to Joshua [the] son of Nun and they recounted to him all the [things that] had found with them.
24 “El Señor ha puesto esta tierra en nuestras manos”, le aseguraron. “¡Toda la gente que vive allí se muere de espanto por causa de nosotros!”
And they said to Joshua that he has given Yahweh in hand our all the land and also they have melted away all [the] inhabitants of the land because of us.
