Josué 13

1 Habían pasado muchos años y Josué había envejecido. El Señor le habló diciendo: “Ya eres un anciano, pero aún te queda mucha tierra por conquistar.

Joshua was old and advanced in age, and the Lord said to him: “You have grown old, and are aged, and a very wide land remains, which has not yet been divided by lot,

2 “Esta es la tierra que queda: el territorio de todos los filisteos y de todos los gesureos,

specifically, all of Galilee, Philistia, and all of Geshur;

3 desde el río Sihor, en la frontera con Egipto, hacia el norte, hasta la frontera de Ecrón; todo esto se cuenta como cananeo, pero está bajo los cinco señores filisteos de Gaza, Asdod, Ascalón, Gat y Ecrón. Además está la tierra de los avvitas

from the muddy river, which irrigates Egypt, as far as the border of Ekron toward the north, the land of Canaan, which is divided among the rulers of Philistia: the Gazites, and the Ashdodites, the Ashkelonites, the Gathites, and the Ekronites;

4 en el sur, toda la tierra de los cananeos, y Meará que pertenece a los sidonios, hasta Afec en la frontera con los amorreos,

truly, to the south are the Hivites, all the land of Canaan, and Mearah of the Sidonians, as far as Aphek and the borders of the Amorite

5 así como la tierra de los giblitas y la zona del Líbano desde la ciudad de Baal-gad hasta las laderas del monte Hermón hasta Lebo-hamat,

and his confines; also, the region of Lebanon toward the east, from Baalgad, under mount Hermon, until you enter into Hamath;

6 Y todos los que viven en la región montañosa desde el Líbano hasta Misrefot Maim, incluyendo toda la tierra de los sidonios. “Yo mismo los expulsaré delante de los israelitas. Sólo asigna la tierra a Israel para que la posea, como te he ordenado.

all who live in the mountains from Lebanon, as far as the waters of Misrephoth, and all the Sidonians. I am the One who will wipe them out, before the face of the sons of Israel. Therefore, let their land become a part of the inheritance of Israel, just as I have instructed you.

7 Así que reparte esta tierra entre las nueve tribus y la media tribu de Manasés para que la posean”.

And now, divide the land as a possession to the nine tribes, and to the one half tribe of Manasseh.”

8 La otra mitad de la tribu de Manasés, y las tribus de Rubén y Gad, ya habían recibido su concesión de tierras en el lado oriental del Jordán, tal como les fue asignada por Moisés, el siervo del Señor.

With them, Reuben and Gad have possessed the land, which Moses, the servant of the Lord, delivered to them beyond the river Jordan, on the eastern side:

9 Se extendía desde Aroer, al borde del valle de Arnón, desde la ciudad situada en medio del valle, y toda la meseta de Medeba, hasta Dibón;

from Aroer, which is situated on the bank of the torrent Arnon and in the midst of the valley, and all the plains of Medeba, as far as Dibon;

10 y todas las ciudades que pertenecían a Sehón, rey de los amorreos, que gobernaba en Hesbón, hasta la frontera con los amonitas.

and all the cities of Sihon, the king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, even to the borders of the sons of Ammon;

11 Además, incluía Galaad, la tierra de los guesuritas y de los maacatitas, todo el monte Hermón y todo Basán hasta Salecá,

and Gilead, as well as the borders of Geshur and Maacati, and all of mount Hermon, and all of Bashan, as far as Salecah;

12 así como toda la tierra del reino de Og de Basán, que había gobernado en Astarot y Edrei. Era uno de los últimos de los refaítas. Moisés los había derrotado y expulsado.

the entire kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned at Ashtaroth and Edrei, (he was among the last of the Rephaim). And Moses struck and destroyed them.

13 Pero los israelitas no habían expulsado a los gueshuritas ni a los maacateos, que aún viven entre ellos hasta el día de hoy.

And the sons of Israel were not willing to destroy Geshur and Maacati, and so they have lived in the midst of Israel, even to the present day.

14 Moisés no asignó ninguna tierra a los levitas. En cambio, les asignó las ofrendas hechas con fuego al Señor, el Dios de Israel, como el Señor les había prometido.

But to the tribe of Levi, he did not give a possession. Instead, the sacrifices and victims of the Lord, the God of Israel, these are his inheritance, just as he spoke to him.

15 Esta fue la tierra que Moisés asignó a la tribu de Rubén, por familias:

Therefore, Moses gave a possession to the tribe of the sons of Reuben, according to their families.

16 Su territorio se extendía desde Aroer, al borde del valle de Arnón, desde la ciudad en medio del valle, y toda la meseta de Medeba;

And their border was from Aroer, which is situated on the bank of the torrent Arnon, and in the midst of the valley of the same torrent, with all the flatlands that lead to Medeba;

17 Hesbón y todas las ciudades en la meseta -Dibón, Bamot Baal, Bet Baal Meón,

and Heshbon, and all their villages, which are in the plains; also Dibon, and Bamothbaal, and the town of Baalmeon,

18 Jahaza, Cedemot, Mefaat,

and Jahaz, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath,

19 Quiriatáim, Sibma, Zeret-Sahar, en una colina del valle,

and Kiriathaim, and Sibmah, and Zereth-shahar on the mountain of the steep valley;

20 Bet Peor, las laderas de Pisga, Bet Jesimot,

Bethpeor, and the descending slopes of Pisgah, and Beth-jeshimoth;

21 todas las ciudades de la meseta y todo el reino de Sehón, el rey amorreo, que gobernaba en Hesbón. Fue derrotado por Moisés, así como por los líderes madianitas Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur y Reba, príncipes que vivían en el reino y que eran aliados de Sejón.

and all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdoms of Sihon, the king of the Amorites, who reigned at Heshbon, whom Moses struck down with the leaders of Midian: Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, the commanders of Sihon, inhabitants of the land.

22 Al mismo tiempo, los israelitas mataron a Balaam, hijo de Beor, el adivino, junto con los demás que fueron sacrificados.

And the sons of Israel killed Balaam, the son of Beor, the seer, with the sword, along with the others who were slain.

23 El Jordán era el límite de la tribu de Rubén. Esta era la tierra, las ciudades y las aldeas, asignadas a la tribu de Rubén, por familias.

And the river Jordan was made the border of the sons of Reuben; this is the possession of the Reubenites, by their families, in cities and villages.

24 Esta fue la tierra que Moisés asignó a la tribu de Gad, por familias:

And Moses gave to the tribe of Gad and his sons, by their families, a possession, of which this is the division:

25 Su territorio era Jazer, todas las ciudades de Galaad y la mitad de la tierra de los amonitas hasta Aroer, cerca de Rabá;

the border of Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and one half part of the land of the sons of Ammon, as far as Aroer, which is opposite Rabbah;

26 que se extendía desde Hesbón hasta Ramat-mizpa y Betonim, y desde Mahanaim hasta la región de Debir.

and from Heshbon as far as Ramath, Mizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim as far as the borders of Debir;

27 I En el valle del Jordán estaban Bet-haram, Bet-nimra, Sucot y Zafón, el resto del reino de Sehón, rey de Hesbón. La frontera corría a lo largo del Jordán hasta el extremo inferior del mar de Cineret y luego corría hacia el este.

also, in the valley Beth-haram and Beth-nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the remaining part of the kingdom of Sihon, the king of Heshbon; the limit of this also is the Jordan, as far as the furthest part of the sea of Chinnereth, beyond the Jordan on the eastern side.

28 Esta era la tierra, las ciudades y las aldeas, asignadas a la tribu de Gad, por familias.

This is the possession of the sons of Gad, by their families, in their cities and villages.

29 Esta fue la tierra que Moisés asignó a la media tribu de Manasés, es decir, a la mitad de la tribu de los descendientes de Manasés, por familias:

He also gave, to the one half tribe of Manasseh and to his sons, a possession according to their families,

30 Su territorio se extendía desde Manahaim por todo Basán, todo el reino de Og y todas las ciudades de Jair en Basán: sesenta en total.

the beginning of which is this: from Mahanaim, all of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Og, the king of Bashan, and all the villages of Jair, which are in Bashan, sixty towns;

31 También incluía Galaad, Astarot y Edrei, las ciudades del rey Og en Basán. Esta fue la tierra asignada a los descendientes de Maquir, hijo de Manasés, para la mitad de ellos, por familias.

and one half part of Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, to the sons of Machir, the son of Manasseh, to one half part of the sons of Machir, according to their families.

32 Estas fueron las asignaciones que hizo Moisés cuando estuvo en las llanuras de Moab, al otro lado del Jordán, al este de Jericó.

Moses divided this possession, in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan, opposite Jericho on the eastern side.

33 Sin embargo, Moisés no asignó ninguna tierra a los levitas, porque el Señor, el Dios de Israel, les había prometido que él sería su asignación.

But to the tribe of Levi he did not give a possession. For the Lord, the God of Israel, is himself their possession, just as he spoke to him.
