Juan 1
1 En el principio, la Palabra ya existía. La Palabra estaba con Dios, y la Palabra era Dios.
In the beginning was that Word, and that Word was with God, and that Word was God.
2 En el principio, Jesús —quien era la palabra— estaba con Dios.
This same was in the beginning with God.
3 Todo llegó a existir por medio de él; y sin él nada llegó a existir.
All things were made by it, and without it was made nothing that was made.
4 En él estaba la vida, la vida que era la luz de todos.
In it was life, and that life was the light of men.
5 La luz brilla en la oscuridad, y la oscuridad no la ha apagado.
And that light shineth in the darkenesse, and the darkenesse comprehended it not.
6 Dios envió a un hombre llamado Juan.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was Iohn.
7 Él vino como testigo para hablar acerca de la luz, a fin de que todos pudieran creer por medio de él.
This same came for a witnesse, to beare witnesse of that light, that all men through him might beleeue.
8 Él mismo no era la luz, sino que vino a testificar de la luz.
He was not that light, but was sent to beare witnesse of that light.
9 La luz verdadera estaba por venir al mundo para dar luz a todos.
This was that true light, which lighteth euery man that commeth into the world.
10 Él estuvo en el mundo, y aunque el mundo fue hecho por medio de él, el mundo no supo quién era él.
He was in the world, and the worlde was made by him: and the worlde knewe him not.
11 Él vino a su pueblo, pero ellos no lo aceptaron.
He came vnto his owne, and his owne receiued him not.
12 Pero a aquellos que lo aceptaron, a quienes creyeron en él, les dio el derecho de convertirse en hijos de Dios.
But as many as receiued him, to them he gaue prerogatiue to be the sonnes of God, euen to them that beleeue in his Name.
13 Estos son los hijos que no nacieron de forma habitual, o como resultado de los deseos o de la voluntad humana, sino nacidos de Dios.
Which are borne not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of ye wil of man, but of God.
14 La Palabra se volvió humana y vivió entre nosotros, y nosotros vimos su gloria, la gloria del único hijo del Padre, lleno de gracia y verdad.
And that Word was made flesh, and dwelt among vs, (and we sawe the glorie thereof, as the glorie of the onely begotten Sonne of the Father) full of grace and trueth.
15 Juan dio su testimonio acerca de él, exclamando al pueblo: “Este es del cual yo les hablaba cuando les dije: ‘El que viene después de mi es más importante que yo, porque antes de que yo viviera, ya él existía’”.
Iohn bare witnesse of him, and cryed, saying, This was he of whom I said, He that commeth after me, was before me: for he was better then I.
16 Nosotros todos hemos sido receptores de su generosidad, de un don gratuito tras otro.
And of his fulnesse haue all we receiued, and grace for grace.
17 La ley fue dada por medio de Moisés; pero la gracia y la verdad vinieron por medio de Jesucristo.
For the Lawe was giuen by Moses, but grace, and trueth came by Iesus Christ.
18 Aunque ninguno ha visto a Dios, Jesucristo, el Único e Incomparable, quien está cerca del Padre, nos ha mostrado cómo es Dios.
No man hath seene God at any time: that onely begotten Sonne, which is in the bosome of the Father, he hath declared him.
19 Esto es lo que Juan afirmó públicamente cuando los líderes judíos enviaron sacerdotes y Levitas desde Jerusalén para preguntarle: “¿Quién eres tú?”
Then this is the record of Iohn, when the Iewes sent Priestes and Leuites from Hierusalem, to aske him, Who art thou?
20 Juan declaró claramente y sin dudar: “Yo no soy el Mesías”.
And he confessed and denied not, and said plainely, I am not that Christ.
21 “Entonces, ¿quién eres?” preguntaron ellos. “¿Elías?” “No, no lo soy”, respondió él. “¿Eres tú el Profeta?” “No”, respondió él.
And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he said, I am not. Art thou that Prophet? And he answered, No.
22 “¿Quién eres tú, entonces?” preguntaron ellos. “Tenemos que dar una respuesta a quienes nos enviaron. ¿Qué dices de ti mismo?”
Then said they vnto him, Who art thou, that we may giue an answere to them that sent vs? What sayest thou of thy selfe?
23 “Yo soy ‘una voz que clama en el desierto: “¡Enderecen el camino del Señor!”’” dijo él, usando las palabras del profeta Isaías.
He said, I am the voyce of him that cryeth in the wildernesse, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the Prophet Esaias.
24 Los sacerdotes y los Levitas enviados por los fariseos
Nowe they which were sent, were of the Pharises.
25 le preguntaron: “¿Por qué, entonces, estás bautizando, si no eres el Mesías, ni Elías, ni el Profeta?”
And they asked him, and saide vnto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, neither Elias, nor that Prophet?
26 Juan respondió: “Yo bautizo con agua, pero entre ustedes está alguien a quien ustedes no conocen.
Iohn answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there is one among you, whom ye knowe not.
27 Él viene después de mí, pero yo ni siquiera soy digno de desabrochar sus sandalias”.
He it is that commeth after me, which was before me, whose shoe latchet I am not worthie to vnloose.
28 Todo esto ocurrió en Betania, al otro lado del Jordán, donde Juan estaba bautizando.
These things were done in Bethabara beyond Iordan, where Iohn did baptize.
29 Al día siguiente, Juan vio que Jesús se acercaba a él, y dijo: “¡Miren, el Cordero de Dios que quita el pecado del mundo!
The next day Iohn, seeth Iesus comming vnto him, and saith, Beholde that Lambe of God, which taketh away the sinne of the world.
30 Este es del cual yo les hablaba cuando dije: ‘El hombre que viene después de mí es más importante que yo, porque antes de que yo existiera él ya existía’.
This is he of whom I saide, After me commeth a man, which was before me: for he was better then I.
31 Yo mismo no sabía quién era él, pero vine a bautizar con agua a fin de que él pudiera ser revelado a Israel”.
And I knewe him not: but because he should be declared to Israel, therefore am I come, baptizing with water.
32 Juan dio su testimonio acerca de él, diciendo: “Vi al Espíritu descender del cielo como una paloma y se posó sobre él.
So Iohn bare recorde, saying, I behelde that Spirit come downe from heauen, like a doue, and it abode vpon him,
33 Yo no lo habría conocido si no fuera porque el que me envió a bautizar con agua me había dicho: ‘Aquél sobre el cual veas descender el Espíritu y posarse sobre él, ese es quien bautiza con el Espíritu Santo’.
And I knewe him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, he saide vnto me, Vpon whom thou shalt see that Spirit come downe, and tary still on him, that is he which baptizeth with the holy Ghost.
34 Yo lo vi, y declaro que este es el Hijo de Dios”.
And I sawe, and bare record that this is that Sonne of God.
35 El día siguiente Juan estaba allí con dos de sus discípulos.
The next day, Iohn stoode againe, and two of his disciples.
36 Él vio a Jesús que pasaba y dijo: “¡Miren! ¡Este es el Cordero de Dios!”
And he behelde Iesus walking by, and said, Beholde that Lambe of God.
37 Cuando los dos discípulos escucharon lo que él dijo, fueron y siguieron a Jesús.
And the two disciples heard him speake, and followed Iesus.
38 Jesús volteó y vio que estos le seguían. “¿Qué están buscando?” les preguntó, “Rabí (que significa ‘Maestro’), ¿dónde vives?” le preguntaron ellos, como respuesta.
Then Iesus turned about, and saw them follow, and saide vnto them, What seeke ye? And they saide vnto him, Rabbi (which is to say by interpretation, Master) where dwellest thou?
39 “Vengan y vean”, les dijo. Así que ellos se fueron con él y vieron donde vivía. Eran cerca de las cuatro de la tarde, y pasaron el resto del día con él.
He saide vnto them, Come, and see. They came and sawe where hee dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth houre.
40 Andrés, el hermano de Simón Pedro, era uno de estos discípulos que habían escuchado lo que Juan dijo y que habían seguido a Jesús.
Andrew, Simon Peters brother, was one of the two which had heard it of Iohn, and that followed him.
41 Él se fue de inmediato a buscar a su hermano Simón y le dijo: “¡Hemos encontrado al Mesías!” (Que significa “Cristo”).
The same founde his brother Simon first, and said vnto him, We haue founde that Messias, which is by interpretation, that Christ.
42 Él lo llevó donde estaba Jesús. Mirándolo fijamente, Jesús le dijo: “Tú eres Simón, hijo de Juan. Pero ahora te llamarás Cefas”, (que significa “Pedro”).
And he brought him to Iesus. And Iesus behelde him, and saide, Thou art Simon the sonne of Iona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, a stone.
43 El siguiente día, Jesús decidió ir a Galilea. Allí encontró a Felipe, y le dijo: “Sígueme”.
The day following, Iesus woulde goe into Galile, and founde Philip, and said vnto him, Followe me.
44 Felipe era de Betsaida, la misma ciudad de donde venían Andrés y Pedro.
Nowe Philip was of Bethsaida, the citie of Andrew and Peter.
45 Felipe encontró a Natanael y le dijo: “Hemos encontrado a aquél de quien Moisés hablaba en la ley y de quien hablaban los profetas también: Jesús de Nazaret, el hijo de José”.
Philippe founde Nathanael, and saide vnto him, Wee haue founde him of whom Moses did write in the Lawe, and the Prophetes, Iesus that sonne of Ioseph, that was of Nazareth.
46 “¿De Nazaret? ¿Puede salir algo bueno de allí?” preguntó Natanael. “Solo ven y mira”, respondió Felipe.
Then Nathanael sayde vnto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saide to him, Come, and see.
47 Cuando Jesús vio que Natanael se acercaba, dijo de él: “¡Miren, aquí hay un verdadero israelita! No hay ninguna falsedad en él”.
Iesus sawe Nathanael comming to him, and saide of him, Beholde in deede an Israelite, in whom is no guile.
48 “¿Cómo sabes quien soy yo?” preguntó Natanael. “Te vi bajo aquella higuera, antes que Felipe te llamara”, respondió Jesús.
Nathanael sayde vnto him, Whence knewest thou mee? Iesus answered, and sayd vnto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast vnder the figge tree, I sawe thee.
49 “¡Rabí, tu eres el Hijo de Dios, el rey de Israel!” exclamó Natanael.
Nathanael answered, and saide vnto him, Rabbi, thou art that Sonne of God: thou art that King of Israel.
50 “¿Crees esto solo porque te dije que te vi bajo aquella higuera?” respondió Jesús. “¡Verás mucho más que eso!”
Iesus answered, and sayde vnto him, Because I sayde vnto thee, I sawe thee vnder the figtree, beleeuest thou? thou shalt see greater things then these.
51 Luego Jesús dijo: “Les digo la verdad: verán el cielo abierto, y los ángeles de Dios subiendo y bajando sobre el Hijo del hombre”.
And he saide vnto him, Verely, verely I say vnto you, hereafter shall yee see heauen open, and the Angels of God ascending, and descending vpon that Sonne of man.
