Juan 8
1 pero Jesús fue al Monte de los Olivos.
And Iesus went vnto the mount of Oliues,
2 Temprano por la mañana, Jesús regresó al Templo donde muchas personas se reunieron alrededor de él, y él se sentó y les enseñaba.
And early in the morning came againe into the Temple, and all the people came vnto him, and he sate downe, and taught them.
3 Los maestros y los fariseos le trajeron una mujer que fue atrapada mientras cometía adulterio y la hicieron permanecer ahí en pie, delante de todos.
Then the Scribes, and the Pharises brought vnto him a woman, taken in adulterie, and set her in the middes,
4 Ellos le dijeron a Jesús: “Maestro, esta mujer fue atrapada en el acto del adulterio.
And said vnto him, Master, we foud this woman committing adulterie, euen in the very acte.
5 Ahora, en la Ley, Moisés ordenó que debemos apedrear a estas mujeres. ¿Qué dices tú?”
Now Moses in our Law commanded, that such should be stoned: what sayest thou therefore?
6 Ellos decían esto para ponerle una trampa a Jesús, a fin de condenarlo. Pero Jesús se arrodilló y escribía en la tierra con su dedo.
And this they saide to tempt him, that they might haue, whereof to accuse him. But Iesus stouped downe, and with his finger wrote on the groud.
7 Ellos seguían exigiendo una respuesta, así que él se levantó y les dijo: “Cualquiera de ustedes que nunca haya pecado puede lanzar la primera piedra sobre ella”.
And while they continued asking him, hee lift himselfe vp, and sayde vnto them, Let him that is among you without sinne, cast the first stone at her.
8 Entonces se arrodilló otra vez y siguió escribiendo en la tierra.
And againe hee stouped downe, and wrote on the ground.
9 Cuando ellos escucharon esto, comenzaron a marcharse, uno a uno, comenzado desde el más anciano hasta que Jesús quedó en medio de la multitud con la mujer que aún estaba allí.
And when they heard it, being accused by their owne conscience, they went out one by one, beginning at ye eldest euen to the last: so Iesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the mids.
10 Jesús se levantó y le preguntó: “¿Dónde están ellos? ¿No quedó ninguno para condenarte?”
When Iesus had lift vp himselfe againe, and sawe no man, but the woman, hee saide vnto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11 “Ninguno, Señor”, respondió ella. “Yo tampoco te condeno”, le dijo Jesús. “Vete y no peques más”.
She said, No man, Lord. And Iesus said, Neither do I condemne thee: go and sinne no more.
12 Jesús habló una vez más al pueblo, diciéndoles: “Yo soy la luz del mundo. Si me siguen, no caminarán en la oscuridad, porque tendrán la luz de la vida”.
Then spake Iesus againe vnto them, saying, I am that light of the worlde: hee that followeth mee, shall not walke in darkenes, but shall haue that light of life.
13 Los fariseos respondieron: “¡Tú no puedes ser tu propio testigo! ¡Lo que dices no prueba nada!”
The Pharises therefore saide vnto him, Thou bearest recorde of thy selfe: thy recorde is not true.
14 “Incluso si yo soy mi propio testigo, mi testimonio es verdadero”, les dijo Jesús, “porque sé de dónde vengo y hacia dónde voy. Pero ustedes no saben de dónde vengo ni hacia dónde voy.
Iesus answered, and sayde vnto them, Though I beare recorde of my selfe, yet my recorde is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go: but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I goe.
15 Ustedes juzgan humanamente, pero yo no juzgo a nadie.
Ye iudge after the flesh: I iudge no man.
16 Incluso si yo juzgara, mi juicio sería justo porque no estoy haciendo esto por mi cuenta. El Padre que me envió está conmigo.
And if I also iudge, my iudgement is true: for I am not alone, but I, and the Father, that sent mee.
17 La misma ley de ustedes dice que el testimonio de dos testigos es válido.
And it is also written in your Lawe, that the testimonie of two men is true.
18 Yo soy mi propio testigo, y mi otro testigo es mi Padre que me envió.
I am one that beare witnes of my selfe, and the Father that sent me, beareth witnes of me.
19 “¿Dónde está tu padre?” le preguntaron. “Ustedes no me conocen a mí ni a mi Padre”, respondió Jesús. “Si ustedes me conocieran, entonces conocerían a mi Padre también”.
Then saide they vnto him, Where is that Father of thine? Iesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor that Father of mine. If ye had knowen me, ye should haue knowen that Father of mine also.
20 Jesús explicaba esto mientras enseñaba cerca de la tesorería del Templo. Sin embargo, nadie lo arrestó porque aún no había llegado su tiempo.
These wordes spake Iesus in the treasurie, as hee taught in the Temple, and no man layde handes on him: for his houre was not yet come.
21 Jesús les dijo de nuevo: “Yo me voy y ustedes me buscarán, pero morirán en su pecado. Adonde yo voy, ustedes no pueden ir”.
Then saide Iesus againe vnto them, I goe my way, and ye shall seeke me, and shall die in your sinnes, Whither I goe, can ye not come.
22 Los judíos preguntaban en voz alta: “¿Acaso va a matarse a sí mismo? ¿Es eso a lo que se refiere cuando dice ‘adonde yo voy ustedes no pueden ir’?”
Then said the Iewes, Will he kill himselfe, because he saith, Whither I goe, can ye not come?
23 Jesús les dijo: “Ustedes son de abajo, yo soy de arriba. Ustedes son de este mundo; yo no soy de este mundo.
And hee saide vnto them, Ye are from beneath, I am from aboue: ye are of this world, I am not of this worlde.
24 Es por eso que les dije que ustedes morirán en sus pecados. Porque si no creen en mí, en el ‘Yo soy,’ morirán en sus pecados”.
I said therefore vnto you, That ye shall die in your sinnes: for except ye beleeue, that I am he, ye shall die in your sinnes.
25 Entonces ellos le preguntaron, “¿Quién eres tú?” “Soy exactamente quien les dije que era desde el principio”, respondió Jesús.
Then saide they vnto him, Who art thou? And Iesus saide vnto them, Euen the same thing that I said vnto you from the beginning.
26 “Hay muchas cosas que yo podría decir de ustedes, y muchas cosas que podría condenar. Pero el que me envió dice la verdad, y lo que yo les digo aquí en este mundo es lo que escuché de Él”.
I haue many things to say, and to iudge of you: but he that sent me, is true, and the things that I haue heard of him, those speake I to the world.
27 Ellos no entendían que él estaba hablando del Padre. Así que Jesús les explicó:
They vnderstoode not that hee spake to them of the Father.
28 “Cuando ustedes hayan levantado al Hijo del hombre sabrán entonces que yo soy el ‘Yo soy,’ y que no hago nada por mí mismo, sino que digo lo que el Padre me enseñó.
Then said Iesus vnto them, When ye haue lift vp the Sonne of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I doe nothing of my selfe, but as my Father hath taught me, so I speake these things.
29 Aquél que me envió está conmigo; Él no me ha abandonado, porque yo siempre hago lo que a Él le agrada”.
For he that sent me, is with me: the Father hath not left me alone, because I do alwayes those things that please him.
30 Muchos de los que escucharon a Jesús decir estas cosas, creyeron en Él.
As hee spake these thinges, many beleeued in him.
31 Entonces Jesús le dijo a los judíos que creyeron en él: “Si siguen mi enseñanza, entonces ustedes son realmente mis discípulos.
Then saide Iesus to the Iewes which beleeued in him, If ye continue in my worde, ye are verely my disciples,
32 Conocerán la verdad y la verdad los hará libres”.
And shall know the trueth, and the trueth shall make you free.
33 “¡Nosotros somos descendientes de Abraham! Nosotros nunca hemos sido esclavos de nadie”, respondieron ellos. “¿Cómo puedes decir que seremos libres?”
They answered him, Wee be Abrahams seede, and were neuer bonde to any man: why sayest thou then, Ye shalbe made free?
34 Jesús respondió: “Les digo la verdad, todo el que peca es un esclavo del pecado.
Iesus answered them, Verely, verely I say vnto you, that whosoeuer committeth sinne, is the seruant of sinne.
35 Un esclavo no tiene un lugar permanente en la familia, pero el hijo siempre es parte de la familia. (aiōn g165)
And the seruant abideth not in the house for euer: but the Sonne abideth for euer. (aiōn g165)
36 Si el Hijo los libera, entonces ustedes son verdaderamente libres.
If that Sonne therefore shall make you free, ye shalbe free in deede.
37 Yo sé que ustedes son descendientes de Abraham. Sin embargo, ustedes están tratando de matarme porque se niegan a aceptar mis palabras.
I know that ye are Abrahams seede, but yee seeke to kill mee, because my worde hath no place in you.
38 Yo les estoy diciendo lo que el Padre me ha revelado, mientras que ustedes hacen lo que su padre les ha enseñado”.
I speake that which I haue seene with my Father: and ye doe that which ye haue seene with your father.
39 “Nuestro padre es Abraham”, respondieron ellos. “Si ustedes realmente fueran hijos de Abraham, harían lo que Abraham hizo”, les dijo Jesús.
They answered, and saide vnto him, Abraham is our father. Iesus said vnto them, If ye were Abrahams children, ye woulde doe the workes of Abraham.
40 “Pero ustedes están tratando de matarme ahora, porque les dije la verdad que yo escuché de Dios. Abraham nunca habría hecho eso.
But nowe ye goe about to kill mee, a man that haue told you the trueth, which I haue heard of God: this did not Abraham.
41 Ustedes están haciendo lo que hace el padre de ustedes”. “Pues nosotros no somos hijos ilegítimos”, respondieron ellos. “¡Solo Dios es nuestro padre!”
Ye do the workes of your father. Then said they to him, We are not borne of fornication: we haue one Father, which is God.
42 Jesús respondió: “Si Dios fuese realmente el padre de ustedes, ustedes me amarían. Yo vine de Dios y estoy aquí. No fue mi propia decisión venir, sino la de Uno que me envió.
Therefore Iesus sayde vnto them, If God were your Father, then woulde ye loue mee: for I proceeded foorth, and came from God, neither came I of my selfe, but he sent me.
43 ¿Por qué no pueden entender lo que estoy diciendo? ¡Es porque ustedes se niegan a escuchar mi mensaje!
Why doe ye not vnderstande my talke? because ye cannot heare my worde.
44 El padre de ustedes es el Diablo, y ustedes aman seguir los deseos malos de él. Él fue un asesino desde el principio. Nunca estuvo de parte de la verdad, porque no hay verdad en él. Cuando él miente, revela su verdadero carácter, porque él es un mentiroso y padre de mentiras.
Ye are of your father the deuill, and the lustes of your father ye will doe: hee hath bene a murtherer from the beginning, and abode not in the trueth, because there is no trueth in him. When hee speaketh a lie, then speaketh hee of his owne: for he is a liar, and the father thereof.
45 ¡Entonces, como yo les digo la verdad, ustedes no me creen!
And because I tell you the trueth, yee beleeue me not.
46 ¿Acaso puede alguno de ustedes demostrarme que soy culpable de pecado? Si les estoy diciendo la verdad, ¿por qué no me creen?
Which of you can rebuke me of sinne? and if I say the trueth, why do ye not beleeue me?
47 Todo el que pertenece a Dios, escucha lo que Dios dice. La razón por la que ustedes no escuchan es porque ustedes no pertenecen a Dios”.
He that is of God, heareth Gods wordes: yee therefore heare them not, because ye are not of God.
48 “¿Acaso no tenemos razón en decir que eres un samaritano poseído por el demonio?” dijeron los judíos.
Then answered the Iewes, and said vnto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritane, and hast a deuil?
49 “No, yo no tengo demonio alguno”, respondió Jesús. “Yo glorifico a mi padre, pero ustedes me deshonran.
Iesus answered, I haue not a deuil, but I honour my Father, and ye haue dishonoured me.
50 Yo no vine aquí buscando honra para mí mismo. Pero hay Uno que lo hace por mí y quien juzga a mi favor.
And I seeke not mine owne praise: but there is one that seeketh it, and iudgeth.
Verely, verely I say vnto you, If a man keepe my word, he shall neuer see death. (aiōn g165)
52 “Ahora sabemos que estás poseído por el demonio”, dijeron los judíos. “Abraham murió, y los profetas también, ¡y tú estás diciéndonos ‘cualquiera que sigue mi enseñanza, no morirá jamás!’ (aiōn g165)
Then said the Iewes to him, Now know we that thou hast a deuill. Abraham is dead, and the Prophets: and thou sayest, If a man keepe my worde, he shall neuer taste of death. (aiōn g165)
53 ¿Acaso eres tú más grande que nuestro padre Abraham? Él murió, y los profetas también murieron. ¿Quién crees que eres?”
Art thou greater then our father Abraham, which is dead? and the Prophets are dead: whome makest thou thy selfe?
54 Jesús respondió: “Si yo me glorifico a mí mismo, mi Gloria no significa nada. Pero es Dios mismo quien me glorifica, el mismo del cual ustedes dicen ‘Él es nuestro Dios’.
Iesus answered, If I honour my selfe, mine honour is nothing worth: it is my Father that honoureth me, whome ye say, that hee is your God.
55 Ustedes no lo conocen, pero yo sí lo conozco. Si yo dijera ‘No lo conozco,’ sería un mentiroso, tal como ustedes. Pero yo sí lo conozco, y hago lo que Él dice.
Yet ye haue not knowen him: but I knowe him, and if I should say I know him not, I should be a liar like vnto you: but I knowe him, and keepe his worde.
56 Abrahám se deleitó en esperar mi venida, y se alegró cuando la vio”.
Your father Abraham reioyced to see my day, and he sawe it, and was glad.
57 Los judíos respondieron: “Aún no tienes ni cincuenta años de edad, ¿y dices que has visto a Abraham?”
Then sayd ye Iewes vnto him, Thou art not yet fiftie yeere olde, and hast thou seene Abraham?
58 “Les digo la verdad: antes de que Abraham naciera, Yo soy”, dijo Jesús.
Iesus sayd vnto them, Verely, verely I say vnto you, before Abraham was, I am.
59 Ante esto, ellos tomaron piedras para arrojárselas, pero Jesús se ocultó de ellos y se fue del Templo.
Then tooke they vp stones, to cast at him, but Iesus hid himselfe, and went out of the Temple: And hee passed through the middes of them, and so went his way.
