1 Dos días después, se estaba celebrando una boda en Caná de Galilea y la madre de Jesús estaba allí.
Two days later there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there,
2 Jesús y sus discípulos también habían sido invitados a la boda.
and Jesus also was invited and His disciples.
3 El vino se acabó, así que la madre de Jesús le dijo: “No tienen más vino”.
Now the wine ran short; whereupon the mother of Jesus said to Him, "They have no wine."
4 “Madre, ¿por qué deberías involucrarme? Mi tiempo no ha llegado aún”, respondió él.
"Leave the matter in my hands," He replied; "the time for me to act has not yet come."
5 Su madre dijo a los sirvientes: “Hagan todo lo que él les diga”.
His mother said to the attendants, "Whatever he tells you to do, do it."
6 Cerca de allí había seis tinajas que usaban los judíos para la purificación ceremonial, en cada una cabían veinte o treinta galones.
Now there were six stone jars standing there (in accordance with the Jewish regulations for purification), each large enough to hold twenty gallons or more.
7 “Llenen las tinajas con agua”, les dijo Jesús. Así que ellos las llenaron por completo.
Jesus said to the attendants, "Fill the jars with water." And they filled them to the brim.
8 Luego les dijo: “Sirvan un poco y llévenlo al maestro de ceremonias”. Entonces ellos sirvieron un poco.
Then He said, "Now, take some out, and carry it to the President of the feast."
9 El maestro de ceremonias no sabía de dónde había venido, solamente los sirvientes lo sabían. Pero cuando probó el agua que había sido convertida en vino, llamó al esposo.
So they carried some to him. And no sooner had the President tasted the water now turned into wine, than--not knowing where it came from, though the attendants who had drawn the water knew--he called to the bridegroom
10 “Todo el mundo sirve primero el mejor vino”, le dijo, “y cuando las personas ya han bebido suficiente, entonces sirven el vino más barato. ¡Pero tú has servido el mejor vino hasta el final!”
and said to him, "It is usual to put on the good wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then that which is inferior. But you have kept the good wine till now."
11 Esta fue la primera de las señales milagrosas de Jesús, y fue realizada en Caná de Galilea. Aquí él dio a conocer su gloria, y sus discípulos pusieron su confianza en él.
This, the first of His miracles, Jesus performed at Cana in Galilee, and thus displayed His glorious power; and His disciples believed in Him.
12 Después de esto, Jesús partió hacia Capernaúm con su madre, sus hermanos y sus discípulos, y se quedaron allí unos pocos días.
Afterwards He went down to Capernaum--He, and His mother, and His brothers, and His disciples; and they made a short stay there.
13 Como ya casi era la fecha de la Pascua de los Judíos, Jesús se fue a Jerusalén.
But the Jewish Passover was approaching, and for this Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
14 En el Templo, encontró personas vendiendo ganado, ovejas y palomas; y los cambistas de monedas estaban sentados en sus mesas.
And He found in the Temple the dealers in cattle and sheep and in pigeons, and the money-changers sitting there.
15 Él elaboró un látigo con cuerdas y los hizo salir a todos del Templo, junto con las ovejas y el ganado, esparciendo las monedas de los cambistas y volteando sus mesas.
So He plaited a whip of rushes, and drove all--both sheep and bullocks--out of the Temple. The small coin of the brokers He upset on the ground and overturned their tables.
16 Ordenó a los vendedores de palomas: “¡Saquen todas estas cosas de aquí! ¡No conviertan la casa de mi Padre en un mercado!”
And to the pigeon-dealers He said, "Take these things away. Do not turn my Father's house into a market."
17 Sus discípulos recordaron la Escritura que dice: “¡Mi devoción por tu casa es como un fuego que arde dentro de mí!”
This recalled to His disciples the words of Scripture, "My zeal for Thy House will consume me."
18 Los líderes judíos reaccionaron, preguntándole: “¿Qué derecho tienes para hacer esto? ¡Muéstranos una señal milagrosa para probarlo!”
So the Jews asked Him, "What proof of your authority do you exhibit to us, seeing that you do these things?"
19 Jesús respondió: “¡Destruyan este Templo, y en tres días lo levantaré!”
"Demolish this Sanctuary," said Jesus, "and in three days I will rebuild it."
20 “Tomó cuarenta y seis años construir este Templo, ¿y tú vas a levantarlo en tres días?” respondieron los líderes judíos.
"It has taken forty-six years," replied the Jews, "to build this Sanctuary, and will you rebuild it in three days?"
21 Pero el Templo del cual hablaba Jesús era su cuerpo.
But He was speaking of the Sanctuary of His body.
22 Después que Jesús se levantó de entre los muertos, sus discípulos recordaron lo que él dijo, y por esto creyeron en la Escritura y en las propias palabras de Jesús.
When however He had risen from among the dead, His disciples recollected that He had said this; and they believed the Scripture and the teaching which Jesus had given them.
23 Como resultado de los milagros que Jesús hizo mientras estuvo en Jerusalén durante la Pascua, muchos creyeron en él.
Now when He was in Jerusalem, at the Festival of the Passover, many became believers in Him through watching the miracles He performed.
24 Pero Jesús mismo no se confiaba de ellos, porque él conocía a todas las personas.
But for His part, Jesus did not trust Himself to them, because He knew them all,
25 Él no necesitaba que nadie le hablara acerca de la naturaleza humana porque él conocía cómo pensaban las personas.
and did not need any one's testimony concerning a man, for He of Himself knew what was in the man.
