Job 28
1 “Hay minas de plata y lugares donde se refina el oro.
The siluer surely hath his veyne, and ye gold his place, where they take it.
2 El hierro se extrae de la tierra y el cobre se funde a partir de su mineral.
Yron is taken out of the dust, and brasse is molten out of the stone.
3 Los mineros llevan lámparas a la oscuridad del subsuelo y buscan el mineral hasta donde pueden llegar en las sombras y la penumbra.
God putteth an end to darkenesse, and he tryeth the perfection of all things: he setteth a bond of darkenesse, and of the shadowe of death.
4 Cavan una mina lejos de donde vive la gente o lejos de donde la gente pueda pasar. Se agarran de cuerdas que cuelgan en las fosas.
The flood breaketh out against the inhabitant, and the waters forgotten of the foote, being higher then man, are gone away.
5 El pan sale de la tierra, pero debajo parece que el fuego le ha dado la vuelta.
Out of the same earth commeth bread, and vnder it, as it were fire is turned vp.
6 Aquí las rocas contienen lapislázuli y el polvo contiene oro.
The stones thereof are a place of saphirs, and the dust of it is golde.
7 Ningún ave de rapiña puede ver estos caminos, ningún ojo de halcón puede percibir.
There is a path which no foule hath knowen, neyther hath the kites eye seene it.
8 Ninguna fiera ha pasado por ese camino; el león no ha andado por allí.
The lyons whelpes haue not walked it, nor the lyon passed thereby.
9 Los mineros atacan la dura roca; derriban las raíces de las montañas.
He putteth his hand vpon the rockes, and ouerthroweth the mountaines by the rootes.
10 Hacen túneles en la roca, buscando cuidadosamente cada piedra preciosa.
He breaketh riuers in the rockes, and his eye seeth euery precious thing.
11 Ponen diques en las fuentes de los ríos, y sacan a la luz lo que está oculto.
He bindeth the floods, that they doe not ouerflowe, and the thing that is hid, bringeth he to light.
12 “Pero, ¿dónde se puede encontrar la sabiduría? ¿Dónde está el lugar para obtener el entendimiento?
But where is wisdome found? and where is the place of vnderstanding?
13 Los seres humanos no conocen el camino de la sabiduría; no se encuentra entre los vivos.
Man knoweth not the price thereof: for it is not found in the land of the liuing.
14 Las aguas profundas dicen: ‘No está aquí’, y el mar dice: ‘Tampoco está aquí’.
The depth sayth, It is not in mee: the sea also sayth, It is not with me.
15 No se puede comprar con oro ni con plata.
Golde shall not be giuen for it, neyther shall siluer be weighed for the price thereof.
16 Su valor no se puede medir, ni siquiera con el oro de Ofir; es más precioso que el ónix o el lapislázuli.
It shall not be valued with the wedge of golde of Ophir, nor with the precious onix, nor the saphir.
17 El oro o el cristal fino no se pueden comparar con la sabiduría; no se puede cambiar por joyas de oro.
The golde nor the chrystall shall be equall vnto it, nor the exchange shalbe for plate of fine golde.
18 El coral y el cristal no son dignos de mención; el precio de la sabiduría está muy por encima de los rubíes.
No mention shall be made of coral, nor of the gabish: for wisedome is more precious then pearles.
19 El topacio de Etiopía no se puede comparar con ella; ni se puede comprar con el oro más puro.
The Topaz of Ethiopia shall not be equall vnto it, neither shall it be valued with the wedge of pure gold.
20 “Entonces, ¿de dónde viene la sabiduría? ¿Dónde se adquiere el entendimiento?
Whence then commeth wisedome? and where is the place of vnderstanding,
21 La sabiduría está oculta de la vista de todos los seres vivos, incluso las aves del cielo no pueden verla.
Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all the liuing, and is hid from the foules of the heauen?
22 Abadón y la Muerte dice: ‘Sólo hemos oído un rumor sobre ella’.
Destruction and death say, We haue heard the fame thereof with our eares.
23 “Sólo Dios comprende el camino de la sabiduría; él sabe dónde se encuentra.
But God vnderstandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof.
24 Porque él mira hasta el final de la tierra; ve todo lo que hay bajo el cielo.
For he beholdeth the endes of the world, and seeth all that is vnder heauen,
25 Él decidió cuál sería la fuerza del viento y reguló las aguas.
To make the weight of the windes, and to weigh the waters by measure.
26 Fijó el límite de la lluvia e hizo un camino para el rayo.
When he made a decree for the rayne, and a way for the lightening of the thunders,
27 Luego consideró la sabiduría. La examinó, le dio su aprobación y la declaró buena.
Then did he see it, and counted it: he prepared it and also considered it.
28 Dijo a los hombres: ‘Reverenciar al Señor es la sabiduría, y apartarse del mal es el entendimiento’”.
And vnto man he said, Behold, the feare of the Lord is wisedome, and to depart from euil is vnderstanding.
