Job 12
1 Job contestó:
And Job answers and says:
2 “Ustedes realmente creen que son personas especiales, ¿no es así? Obviamente, cuando mueran, la sabiduría morirá con ustedes.
“Truly—you [are] the people, and wisdom dies with you.
3 Pero yo también tengo conocimientos, y ustedes no son mejores que yo. ¿No sabe todo el mundo las cosas que han dicho?
I also have a heart like you, I am not fallen more than you, And with whom is there not like these?
4 Pero mis amigos se ríen de mí porque invoqué a Dios y él me respondió: el hombre inocente que hace el bien se ha convertido en objeto de burla.
I am a laughter to his friend: He calls to God, and He answers him, A laughter [is] the perfect righteous one.
5 La gente que está bien desprecia a los que tienen problemas; están dispuestos a empujar a los que ya resbalan.
A torch—despised in the thoughts of the secure Is prepared for those sliding with the feet.
6 Los ladrones viven en paz, y los que hacen enojar a Dios viven seguros, confiando en su propia fuerza como su ‘dios’.
The tents of spoilers are at peace, And those provoking God have confidence, Into whose hand God has brought.
7 “Pero si les preguntas a los animales, ellos te enseñarán; las aves del cielo te lo dirán;
And yet, now ask [one of] the beasts, And it shows you, And a bird of the heavens, And it declares to you.
8 pregúntale a la tierra y ella te enseñará; y los peces del mar te lo dirán.
Or talk to the earth, and it shows you, And fishes of the sea recount to you:
9 ¿Quién de todos ellos no sabe que el Señor ha hecho esto?
Who has not known in all these, That the hand of YHWH has done this?
10 Él da vida a todo ser viviente, y a toda la humanidad.
In whose hand [is] the breath of every living thing, And the spirit of all flesh of man.
11 El oído distingue palabras como el paladar distingue los alimentos.
Does the ear not try words? And the palate taste food for itself?
12 La sabiduría para distinguir pertenece a los ancianos, y la habilidad para discriminar correctamente pertenece a los que tienen una larga experiencia.
With the very aged [is] wisdom, And [with] length of days [is] understanding.
13 Dios tiene sabiduría y poder, el consejo y el entendimiento le pertenecen.
With Him [are] wisdom and might, To Him [are] counsel and understanding.
14 Si derriba algo, nadie puede reconstruirlo. Si encarcela a alguien, nadie podrá liberarlo.
Behold, He breaks down, and it is not built up, He shuts against a man, And it is not opened.
15 Si Dios retiene las aguas, todo se seca; si las suelta, la tierra se inunda.
Behold, He keeps in the waters, and they are dried up, And He sends them forth, And they overturn the land.
16 Él es poderoso y victorioso; tanto los engañadores como los engañados están sometidos a él.
With Him [are] strength and wisdom, His the deceived and deceiver.
17 Lleva a los consejeros despojados de su sabiduría, convierte a los jueces en necios.
Causing counselors to go away [as] a spoil, Indeed, He makes fools of judges.
18 Él le quita a los reyes sus gruesos collares y los hace vestir taparrabos.
He has opened the bands of kings, And He binds a girdle on their loins.
19 Él expulsa a los sacerdotes, despojados de sus vestimentas religiosas, y derriba a los poderosos.
Causing ministers to go away [as] a spoil And strong ones He overthrows.
20 Quita el consejo de los consejeros fieles, quita el discernimiento de los ancianos.
Turning aside the lip of the steadfast, And the reason of the aged He takes away.
21 Derrama el desprecio sobre los príncipes y les quita el poder de los fuertes.
Pouring contempt on princes, And the girdle of the mighty He made feeble.
22 Él revela lo que está oculto en las tinieblas, y saca a la luz la sombra de la muerte.
Removing deep things out of darkness, And He brings out to light death-shade.
23 Él engrandece a las naciones y las destruye; expande a las naciones y las arruina.
Magnifying the nations, and He destroys them, Spreading out the nations, and He quiets them.
24 Él quita el entendimiento de los gobernantes y los hace vagar por el desierto.
Turning aside the heart Of the heads of the people of the land, And He causes them to wander In vacancy—no way!
25 Andan a tientas en la oscuridad, sin luz. Él los hace tambalearse como borrachos”.
They feel darkness, and not light, He causes them to wander as a drunkard.”
