Jeremías 48
1 Esto es lo que el Señor Todopoderoso, el Dios de Israel, dice sobre Moab: La ciudad de Nebo está a punto de sufrir un desastre, porque será destruida. La ciudad de Quiriatáim será capturada y humillada; la fortaleza será derribada y su pueblo avergonzado.
To Moab the Lord of oostis, God of Israel, seith these thingis. Wo on Nabo, for it is destried, and schent; Cariathiarym is takun, the stronge citee is schent, and tremblide.
2 Ya nadie alaba a Moab. La gente de Hesbón está tramando: “Destruiremos a Moab como nación. Gente del pueblo de los locos, también los silenciaremos: serán atacados con espadas y perseguidos”.
And ful out ioiyng is no more in Moab, thei thouyten yuel ayens Esebon. Come ye, and leese we it fro folk. Therfor thou beynge stille, schalt be stille, and swerd schal sue thee.
3 Escuchen los gritos de Joronayin: “¡Violencia y terrible destrucción!”
A vois of cry fro Oronaym, distriynge, and greet sorewe.
4 Moab será aplastado. Oigan a los pequeños que claman por ayuda.
Moab is defoulid, telle ye cry to litil children therof.
5 La gente llora al subir a Luhit, y al bajar a Joronayin resuenan sus gritos tristes ante la destrucción.
For a man wepynge stiede with wepyng bi the stiyng of Luyth, for in the comyng doun of Oronaym enemyes herden the yellyng of sorewe.
6 ¡Huyan! ¡Sálvense ustedes mismos! ¡Sed como un escaso tamarisco en el desierto!
Fle ye, saue ye youre lyues; and ye schulen be as bromes in desert.
7 Por haber puesto su confianza en lo que hacen y en lo que poseen, ustedes también serán capturados. Tu dios Quemos será llevado al exilio junto con sus sacerdotes y líderes.
For that that thou haddist trist in thi strengthis, and in thi tresouris, also thou schalt be takun. And Chamos schal go in to passyng ouer, the preestis therof and the princes therof togidere.
8 Los invasores atacarán todas las ciudades; ni una sola escapará a la destrucción. El valle quedará arruinado y la llanura será destruida, porque el Señor ha hablado.
And a robbere schal come to ech citee, and no citee schal be sauyd; and valeis schulen perische, and feeldi places schulen be distried, for the Lord seide.
9 Levanten lápidas en Moab, porque el país se convertirá en un páramo. Sus ciudades se convertirán en ruinas donde nadie vive.
Yyue ye the flour of Moab, for it schal go out flourynge; and the citees therof schulen be forsakun, and vnhabitable.
10 Una maldición para los que no hagan bien el trabajo del Señor. Una maldición para los que no usan sus espadas para matar.
He is cursid, that doith the werk of God gilefuli; and he is cursid, that forbedith his swerd fro blood.
11 El pueblo de Moab ha vivido cómodamente desde que se fundó el país. Son como el vino que no se ha alterado, que no se ha vertido de un recipiente a otro. Así que el sabor y la fragancia siguen siendo los mismos. No han experimentado el exilio.
Moab was plenteuouse fro his yong wexynge age, and restide in hise drastis, nether was sched out fro vessel in to vessel, and yede not in to passyng ouer; therfor his taaste dwellide in hym, and his odour is not chaungid.
12 Pero cuidado, se acerca el tiempo, declara el Señor, en que les enviaré “bodegueros” que los verterán como vino. Vaciarán a los moabitas y los destrozarán como si fueran tinajas.
Therfor lo! daies comun, seith the Lord, and Y schal sende to it ordeynours, and arayeris of potels; and thei schulen araye it, and thei schulen waste the vessels therof, and hurtle togidere the potels of hem.
13 Entonces los moabitas se sentirán defraudados por Quemos, así como el pueblo de Israel se sintió defraudado cuando confió en el ídolo del becerro de oro en Betel.
And Moab schal be schent of Chamos, as the hous of Israel was schent of Bethel, in which it hadde trist.
14 ¿Cómo es posible que ustedes, los moabitas, digan: “Somos héroes, hombres fuertes listos para pelear en la batalla”?
Hou seien ye, We ben stronge, and stalworthe men to fiyte?
15 Moab va a ser destruido y sus ciudades conquistadas. Sus mejores jóvenes serán asesinados, declara el Rey, cuyo nombre es el Señor Todopoderoso.
Moab is distried, and thei han brent the citees therof, and the chosun yonge men therof yeden doun in to sleynge, seith the kyng, the Lord of oostis is his name.
16 La perdición de Moab está a punto de ocurrir; la destrucción se precipita sobre ellos.
The perischyng of Moab is nyy, that it come, and the yuel therof renneth ful swiftli.
17 ¡Lloren por ellos, todas las naciones de los alrededores, todos los que los conocen! ¡Que otros sepan cómo ha sido aplastado el gran cetro, la vara que antes gobernaba con orgullo!
Alle ye that ben in the cumpas therof, coumforte it; and alle ye that knowen the name therof, seie, Hou is the stronge yerde brokun, the gloriouse staaf?
18 Bajen de su gloria y siéntense en el suelo polvoriento, ustedes que viven en Dibón, porque el destructor de Moab vendrá y los atacará, destruyendo sus fortalezas.
Thou dwellyng of the douytir of Dibon, go doun fro glorie, sitte thou in thirst; for the distriere of Moab schal stie to thee, and he schal destrie thi strengthis.
19 Ponte al borde del camino y observa, tú que vives en Aroer. Pregunten a los hombres y mujeres que huyen para escapar: “¿Qué ha pasado?”.
Thou dwellyng of Aroer, stonde in the weie, and biholde; axe thou hym that fleeth, and hym that ascapide; seie thou, What bifelle?
20 Moab ha sido humillado porque ha sido derrotado. ¡Llora y grita! ¡Griten junto al río Arnón que Moab ha sido destruido!
Moab is schent, for he is ouercomun; yelle ye, and crye; telle ye in Arnon, that Moab is destried.
21 El castigo ha llegado a las ciudades de la altiplanicie: a Holón, Jahzá y Mefá,
And doom is comun to the lond of the feeld, on Elon, and on Jesa, and on Mephat, and on Dibon,
22 a Dibón, Nebo y Bet-diblatáim,
and on Nabo, and on the hous of Debalthaym,
23 a Quiriatáim, Bet-gamul y Bet-meón,
and on Cariathiarym, and on Bethgamul, and on Bethmaon, and on Scarioth,
24 a Queriot, Bozrá y a todas las ciudades de Moab, ya sean lejanas o cercanas.
and on Bosra, and on alle the citees of the lond of Moab, that ben fer, and that ben niy.
25 La fuerza de Moab ha desaparecido; su poder ha sido quebrantado, declara el Señor.
The horn of Moab is kit awei, and the arm therof is al to-brokun, seith the Lord.
26 Embriaga al pueblo de Moab, porque ha desafiado al Señor. Entonces se revolcarán en su propio vómito, mientras la gente se ríe de ellos.
Fille ye him greetli, for he is reisid ayens the Lord; and he schal hurtle doun the hond of Moab in his spuyng, and he also schal be in to scorn.
27 ¿No solían los moabitas ridiculizar a los israelitas? Pero nunca se descubrió que fueran ladrones, ¿verdad? Sin embargo, cada vez que hablan de ellos, mueven la cabeza con desprecio.
For whi, Israel, he was in to scorn to thee, as if thou haddist founde hym among theues; therfor for thi wordis whiche thou spakist ayens hym, thou schalt be led prisoner.
28 Ustedes, habitantes de Moab, huyan de sus ciudades, vayan a vivir entre las rocas. Sean como una paloma que anida en los acantilados a la entrada de un barranco.
Ye dwelleris of Moab, forsake citees, and dwelle in the stoon, and be ye as a culuer makynge nest in the hiyeste mouth of an hool.
29 Ya sabemos lo pomposos que son los moabitas, lo extremadamente orgullosos y engreídos que son, pensando arrogantemente en sí mismos.
We han herd the pride of Moab; he is ful proud.
30 Estoy bien enterado de lo irrespetuosos que son, declara el Señor, pero no importa. Se jactan de ser vacíos, y lo que hacen es igual de vacío.
Y knowe, seith the Lord, the hiynesse therof, and pride in word, and pride in beryng, and the hiynesse of herte, and the boost therof, and that the vertu therof is not niy, ethir lijk it, nethir it enforside to do bi that that it miyte.
31 Por eso lloraré por Moab; gritaré por todos los moabitas; me lamentaré por el pueblo de Kir-heres.
Therfor Y schal weile on Moab, and Y schal crie to al Moab, to the men of the erthene wal, that weilen.
32 Lloraré por ustedes, gente de la ciudad de Sibma con sus viñas, más de lo que lloro por la ciudad de Jazer. Sus viñas se han extendido hasta el mar, y hasta Jazer. Pero el destructor ha robado tu cosecha de frutos y uvas de verano.
Of the weilyng of Jaser Y schal wepe to thee, thou vyner of Sabama; thi siouns passiden the see, tho camen `til to the see of Jazer; a robbere felle in on thi ripe corn, and on thi vyndage.
33 Ya no hay fiesta ni alegría en los huertos y campos de Moab. He detenido el jugo de uva que fluye de los lagares. Nadie grita de alegría al pisar las uvas. No, sus gritos ahora no son de alegría.
Ful out ioye and gladnesse is takun awei fro Carmele, and fro the lond of Moab, and Y haue take awei wyn fro pressouris; a stampere of grape schal not synge a customable myri song.
34 Los gritos de auxilio llegan desde Hesbón hasta Elealeh y hasta Yahaza. Gritan desde Zoar hasta Horonaim y Eglat-Selisiyá, pues hasta el agua del arroyo Nimrín se ha secado.
Of the cry of Esebon `til to Eleale and Jesa thei yauen her vois, fro Segor `til to Oronaym a cow calf of thre yeer; forsothe the watris of Nemrym schulen be ful yuele.
35 Voy a acabar con los que en Moab sacrifican en los lugares altos paganos y queman incienso a sus dioses, declara el Señor.
And Y schal take awei fro Moab, seith the Lord, him that offrith in hiy places, and him that makith sacrifice to the goddis therof.
36 Por eso me lamento en mi interior como una flauta que toca una canción triste por Moab; como una flauta que toca una melodía fúnebre por el pueblo de Kir-heres, porque han perdido todo lo que tenían de valor y por lo que han trabajado.
Therfor myn herte schal sowne as a pipe of bras to Moab, and myn herte schal yyue sown of pipis to the men of the erthene wal; for it dide more than it myyte, therfor thei perischiden.
37 Como muestra de su luto, toda cabeza está afeitada, toda barba está recortada, toda mano tiene un corte, y toda cintura está vestida de cilicio.
For whi ech heed schal be ballidnesse, and ech beerd schal be schauun; in alle hondis schal be bindyng togidere, and an heir schal be on ech bak.
38 Todo el mundo está de luto en todas las azoteas y calles de Moab, porque he destrozado el país como una vasija que nadie quiere, declara el Señor.
And al weilyng schal be on alle the roouys of Moab, and in the stretis therof, for Y haue al to-broke Moab as an vnprofitable vessel, seith the Lord.
39 ¡Moab está completamente destrozado! ¡Escúchalos llorar! ¡Vean cómo los moabitas se apartan avergonzados! Todas las naciones de alrededor se horrorizan de lo que le ha sucedido al país, y se burlan de su gente.
Hou is it ouercomun, and thei yelliden? hou hath Moab cast doun the nol, and is schent? And Moab schal be in to scorn, and in to ensaumple to alle men in his cumpas.
40 Esto es lo que dice el Señor: Mira como un enemigo como un águila se abalanza, extendiendo sus alas mientras ataca a Moab.
The Lord seith these thingis, Lo! as an egle he schal fle out, and he schal stretche forth hise wyngis to Moab.
41 Quiriot ha sido conquistada, y las fortalezas capturadas. En ese momento los guerreros de Moab estarán tan asustados como una mujer de parto.
Carioth is takun, and stronge holdis ben takun; and the herte of stronge men of Moab schal be in that dai, as the herte of a womman trauelynge of child.
42 Moab dejará de existir como nación por haber desafiado al Señor.
And Moab schal ceesse to be a puple, for it hadde glorie ayens the Lord.
43 A ustedes, habitantes de Moab, lo que les espera es el terror, las trampas y los lazos, declara el Señor.
Drede, and diche, and snare is on thee, thou dwellere of Moab, seith the Lord.
44 Ustedes huirán aterrorizados y caerán en una trampa, y cuando salgan de la trampa, quedarán atrapados en un lazo. Esto les haré a los moabitas en el momento en que sean castigados, declara el Señor.
He that fleeth fro the face of drede, schal falle in to a diche; and thei that stien fro the dyche, schulen be takun with a snare. For Y schal brynge on Moab the yeer of the visitacioun of hem, seith the Lord.
45 Los que huyan quedarán indefensos en Hesbón, adonde fueron en busca de protección, porque de Hesbón sale fuego, un fuego de donde reinó Sijón. Quema todo el país de Moab y su pueblo desafiante.
Men fleynge fro the snare stoden in the schadewe of Esebon, for whi fier yede out of Esebon, and flawme fro the myddis of Seon; and deuouride a part of Moab, and the cop of the sones of noise.
46 ¡Qué desastre os ha sobrevenido a los moabitas! El pueblo de Quemos ha sido aniquilado. Sus hijos e hijas han sido hechos prisioneros y han ido al exilio.
Moab, wo to thee; thou puple of Chamos, hast perischid, for whi thi sones and thi douytris ben takun in to caitiftee.
47 Pero aun así, más adelante, haré regresar al pueblo de Moab del exilio, declara el Señor. Este es el final de la descripción del juicio sobre Moab.
And Y schal conuerte the caitiftee of Moab in the laste daies, seith the Lord. Hidur to ben the domes of Moab.
