Jeremías 1
1 Estas son las palabras de Jeremías hijo de Hilcías, uno de los sacerdotes que vivía en Anatot, en el territorio de Benjamín.

2 El mensaje del Señor llegó a Jeremías a partir del año trece del reinado de Josías, hijo de Amón, rey de Judá,

3 y desde el tiempo de Joacim, hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, hasta el quinto mes del undécimo año de Sedequías, hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, que fue cuando el pueblo de Jerusalén partió al exilio.
And it was don in the daies of Joachym, the sone of Josie, the king of Juda, til to the endyng of the enleuenthe yeer of Sedechie, sone of Josie, kyng of Juda, til the passyng ouer, ether caitifte, of Jerusalem, in the fyuethe monethe.
4 El Señor vino y me dijo:
And the word of the Lord was maad to me,
5 “Yo sabía exactamente quién serías antes de crearte en el vientre de tu madre; te elegí antes de que nacieras para que fueras profeta de las naciones”.
and seide, Bifor that Y fourmede thee in the wombe, Y knewe thee; and bifor that thou yedist out of the wombe, Y halewide thee; and Y yaf thee a profete among folkis.
6 “¡Oh, no, Señor Dios!” respondí. “¡De verdad que no sé hablar en público porque todavía soy demasiado joven!”.
And Y seide, A! A! A! Lord God, lo! Y kan not speke, for Y am a child.
7 “No digas que eres demasiado joven”, me dijo el Señor. “Ve a todos los lugares que yo te mande. Diles todo lo que te ordeno que digas.
And the Lord seide to me, Nyle thou seie, that Y am a child; for thou schalt go to alle thingis, to whiche Y schal sende thee, and thou schalt speke alle thingis, what euer thingis Y schal comaunde to thee.
8 No les tengas miedo, porque yo iré contigo y te cuidaré. Esta es la promesa del Señor”.
Drede thou not of the face of hem, for Y am with thee, to delyuere thee, seith the Lord.
9 El Señor extendió su mano, me tocó la boca y me dijo “Mira, he puesto mis palabras en tu boca.
And the Lord sente his hond, and touchide my mouth; and the Lord seide to me, Lo! Y haue youe my wordis in thi mouth; lo!
10 Hoy te he puesto sobre naciones y reinos para arrancar y derribar, para destruir y demoler, para construir y plantar”.
Y haue ordeynede thee to day on folkis, and on rewmes, that thou drawe vp, and distrie, and leese, and scatere, and bilde, and plaunte.
11 El mensaje del Señor llegó a mí, preguntando: “Jeremías, ¿qué ves?” “Veo una ramita de un almendro”, respondí.
And the word of the Lord was maad to me, and seide, What seest thou, Jeremye?
12 “Así es, porque estoy vigilante para que se cumpla lo que yo digo”, dijo el Señor.
And Y seide, Y se a yerde wakynge. And the Lord seide to me, Thou hast seen wel, for Y schal wake on my word, to do it.
13 El mensaje del Señor llegó de nuevo a mí, preguntando: “¿Qué ves?” “Veo una olla que está hirviendo”, respondí, “y se está inclinando en esta dirección desde el norte”.
And the word of the Lord was maad the secounde tyme to me, and seide, What seest thou? Y se a pot buylynge, and the face therof fro the face of the north.
14 Entonces el Señor me dijo: “Los problemas que se están gestando desde el norte arrasarán con todos los que viven en el país.
And the Lord seide to me, Fro the north schal be schewid al yuel on alle the dwelleris of the lond.
15 ¡Presta atención! Voy a convocar a todas las naciones y a los reyes del norte”, declara el Señor. “Cada uno de estos reyes vendrá y pondrá sus tronos justo a la entrada de las puertas de Jerusalén, y atacará todas sus fortificaciones y todas las ciudades de Judá.
For lo! Y schal clepe togidere alle the naciouns of rewmes of the north, seith the Lord, and thei schulen come, and sette ech man his seete in the entryng of the yatis of Jerusalem, and on alle the wallis therof in cumpas, and on alle the citees of Juda.
16 Cumpliré mi sentencia contra los habitantes por toda su maldad, porque me abandonaron para ir quemar incienso a los dioses paganos, para adorar a los ídolos que ellos mismos fabricaron.
And Y schal speke my domes with hem on al the malice of hem, that forsoken me, and maden sacrifice to alien goddis, and worschipiden the werk of her hondis.
17 “Tienes que prepararte. Vas a presentarte ante el pueblo y a decirles todo lo que yo te ordene. No tengas miedo de ellos, o yo te asustaré delante de ellos.
Therfor girde thou thi leendis, and rise thou, and speke to hem alle thingis whiche Y comaunde to thee; drede thou not of the face of hem, for Y schal not make thee for to drede the cheer of hem.
18 ¡Presta atención! Hoy te he convertido en una ciudad fortificada, en una columna de hierro, en una muralla de bronce, para que te enfrentes a todo el país: contra los reyes de Judá, sus funcionarios, sus sacerdotes y toda la gente del país.
For Y yaf thee to dai in to a strong citee, and in to an yrun piler, and in to a brasun wal, on al the lond, to the kyngis of Juda, and to the princis therof, and to the preestis therof, and to al the puple of the lond.
19 Ellos lucharán contra ti, pero no te derrotarán, porque yo estaré allí para rescatarte”, declara el Señor.
And thei schulen fiyte ayens thee, and thei schulen not haue the maistrie; for Y am with thee, seith the Lord, that Y delyuere thee.
