Isaías 33
1 La tragedia se acerca a ti, destructor que no has experimentado la destrucción, engañador que no has experimentado el engaño. Cuando hayas terminado con tu destrucción, tú mismo serás destruido. Cuando hayas terminado con tu engaño, tú mismo serás engañado.
Woe to thee that spoylest, and wast not spoyled: and doest wickedly, and they did not wickedly against thee: when thou shalt cease to spoyle, thou shalt be spoyled: when thou shalt make an ende of doing wickedly, they shall doe wickedly against thee.
2 Señor, por favor, sé benévolo con nosotros; ponemos nuestra confianza en ti. Sé la fuerza en la que confiamos cada mañana; sé nuestra salvación en tiempos de angustia.
O Lord, haue mercie vpon vs, wee haue waited for thee: be thou, which waste their arme in the morning, our helpe also in time of trouble.
3 Cuando ruges, los pueblos huyen; cuando te preparas para la acción, las naciones se dispersan.
At the noise of the tumult, the people fled: at thine exalting the nations were scattered.
4 Tú saqueas a los ejércitos enemigos derrotados como orugas que devoran las plantas; como un ataque de langostas enjambre.
And your spoyle shall be gathered like the gathering of caterpillers: and he shall go against him like the leaping of grashoppers.
5 El Señor es alabado porque vive en lo más alto del cielo; ha llenado Sión de justicia y derecho.
The Lord is exalted: for hee dwelleth on hie: he hath filled Zion with iudgement and iustice.
6 Él será su apoyo constante durante toda su vida, una fuente abundante de salvación, sabiduría y conocimiento. La reverencia al Señor es lo que enriquece a Sión.
And there shall be stabilitie of thy times, strength, saluation, wisdome and knowledge: for the feare of the Lord shalbe his treasure.
7 Pero ¡mira! Hasta tus soldados más valientes lloran a gritos en la calle; los mensajeros que enviaste a pedir la paz lloran amargamente.
Behold, their messengers shall cry without, and ye ambassadours of peace shall weepe bitterly.
8 Tus carreteras están desiertas; ya nadie viaja por tus caminos. Rompe el acuerdo; desprecia a los testigos; no le importa nadie.
The pathes are waste: the wayfaring man ceaseth: hee hath broken the couenant: hee hath contemned the cities: he regarded no man.
9 Israel está de luto y se marchita; el Líbano se marchita avergonzado; los campos de Sarón se han convertido en un desierto; los bosques de Basán y del Carmelo se han despojado de sus hojas.
The earth mourneth and fainteth: Lebanon is ashamed, and hewen downe: Sharon is like a wildernes, and Bashan is shaken and Carmel.
10 “¡Pero ahora voy a intervenir!” dice el Señor. “¡Estoy dispuesto a actuar! ¡Me mostraré por encima de todos los demás!
Now will I arise, saith the Lord: now will I be exalted, now will I lift vp my selfe.
11 Todo lo que das a luz es sólo hierba seca, todo lo que das a luz es sólo rastrojo. Tu aliento es un fuego que te quemará.
Ye shall conceiue chaffe, and bring forth stubble: the fire of your breath shall deuoure you.
12 Ustedes serán reducidos a cenizas como espinas que se cortan y se arrojan al fuego.
And the people shall be as the burning of lime: and as the thornes cut vp, shall they be burnt in the fire.
13 Los que están lejos, reconozcan lo que he hecho; los que están cerca, reconozcan lo poderoso que soy”.
Heare, yee that are farre off, what I haue done, and ye that are neere, know my power.
14 Los pecadores que viven en Sión tiemblan de miedo; los insensatos están aterrorizados. Preguntan: “¿Quién puede vivir con este fuego que lo consume todo? ¿Quién puede vivir entre este fuego eterno?”
The sinners in Zion are afraide: a feare is come vpon the hypocrites: who among vs shall dwel with the deuouring fire? who among vs shall dwell with the euerlasting burnings?
15 Los que viven correctamente y dicen la verdad, los que se niegan a beneficiarse de la extorsión y se niegan a aceptar sobornos, los que no escuchan las conspiraciones para matar a la gente, los que cierran los ojos antes que mirar el mal.
Hee that walketh in iustice, and speaketh righteous things, refusing gaine of oppression, shaking his handes from taking of gifts, stopping his eares from hearing of blood, and shutting his eyes from seeing euill.
16 Vivirán en las alturas; estarán protegidos por las fortalezas de las montañas; siempre tendrán comida y siempre tendrán agua.
He shall dwell on hie: his defence shall be the munitions of rockes: bread shalbe giuen him, and his waters shalbe sure.
17 Verán al rey con su maravillosa apariencia, y contemplarán una tierra que se extiende a lo lejos.
Thine eyes shall see the King in his glory: they shall beholde the lande farre off.
18 En tu mente pensarás en las cosas aterradoras que se esperaban, y entonces te preguntarás: ¿Dónde están los funcionarios enemigos: los escribas que debían registrar los acontecimientos, los tesoreros que debían pesar el dinero saqueado, los topógrafos que debían contar y destruir las torres?
Thine heart shall meditate feare, Where is the scribe? where is the receiuer? where is hee that counted the towres?
19 Ya no verás a esa gente ofensiva con su lenguaje bárbaro que suena como si alguien tartamudeara y fuera imposible de entender.
Thou shalt not see a fierce people, a people of a darke speache, that thou canst not perceiue, and of a stammering tongue that thou canst not vnderstande.
20 Por el contrario, verás a Sión como una ciudad festiva. Verás a Jerusalén como un lugar tranquilo y apacible. Será como una tienda de campaña que nunca se desmonta, cuyas estacas nunca se levantan, cuyas cuerdas nunca se rompen.
Looke vpon Zion the citie of our solemne feastes: thine eyes shall see Ierusalem a quiet habitation, a Tabernacle that can not be remooued: and the stakes thereof can neuer be taken away, neither shall any of the cordes thereof be broken.
21 Aquí mismo, nuestro majestuoso Señor será como un lugar de amplios ríos y aguas que ningún barco enemigo con remos puede cruzar, ningún gran barco puede pasar.
For surely there the mightie Lord will be vnto vs, as a place of floods and broade riuers, whereby shall passe no shippe with oares, neither shall great shippe passe thereby.
22 Porque el Señor es nuestro juez, el Señor es nuestro legislador, el Señor es nuestro rey. Él es quien nos salvará.
For the Lord is our Iudge, the Lord is our lawe giuer: the Lord is our King, he will saue vs.
23 El aparejo de tu barco cuelga suelto, de modo que el mástil no está seguro y la vela no puede desplegarse. Entonces todo el tesoro saqueado que llevas se repartirá entre los vencedores— incluso los cojos tendrán su parte.
Thy cordes are loosed: they could not well strengthen their maste, neither coulde they spread the saile: then shall the praye be deuided for a great spoile: yea, the lame shall take away the pray.
24 Nadie en Israel dirá: “Estoy enfermo”, y a los que viven allí se les quitará la culpa.
And none inhabitant shall say, I am sicke: the people that dwell therein, shall haue their iniquitie forgiuen.
