Isaías 13
1 Este es el mensaje que recibió Isaías, hijo de Amoz, recibió sobre Babilonia.
The burden of Babel, which Isaiah the sonne of Amoz did see.
2 Levanten un estandarte en la cima de una colina desnuda; grítenles; agiten la mano para animarlos a entrar en los palacios de los príncipes.
Lift vp a standard vpon the hie mountaine: lift vp the voyce vnto them: wagge the hand, that they may goe into the gates of the nobles.
3 He ordenado a los que he elegido que ataquen; he llamado a mis guerreros para que ejecuten mi furioso juicio y celebren mi triunfo.
I haue commanded them, that I haue sanctified: and I haue called ye mightie to my wrath, and them that reioyce in my glorie.
4 ¡Un ruido viene de las montañas, que suena como el de una gran multitud! ¡Es el sonido rugiente de los reinos, de las naciones que se reúnen! El Señor Todopoderoso convoca un ejército para la guerra.
The noyse of a multitude is in the mountaines, like a great people: a tumultuous voyce of the kingdomes of the nations gathered together: the Lord of hostes nombreth the hoste of the battell.
5 Vienen de tierras lejanas, de más allá de los horizontes lejanos – el Señor y las armas de su furia – vienen a destruir todo el país.
They come from a farre countrey, from the end of the heauen: euen the Lord with the weapons of his wrath to destroy the whole land.
6 Aúllen de miedo, porque se acerca el día del Señor, el tiempo en que el Todopoderoso destruye.
Howle you, for the day of the Lord is at hande: it shall come as a destroier from the Almightie.
7 A todos se les caerán las manos, y todos perderán la cabeza por el pánico.
Therefore shall all hands be weakened, and all mens hearts shall melt,
8 Estarán aterrorizados; el dolor y la angustia se apoderarán de ellos; sufrirán como una mujer que da a luz. Se mirarán unos a otros conmocionados, con los rostros ardiendo de miedo.
And they shalbe afraid: anguish and sorowe shall take them, and they shall haue paine, as a woman that trauaileth: euery one shall be amased at his neighbour, and their faces shalbe like flames of fire.
9 ¡Presten atención! Viene el día del Señor, cruel, con furia y con una ira feroz, para devastar la tierra y aniquilar a sus pecadores.
Beholde, the day of the Lord commeth, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger to lay the land wast: and he shall destroy the sinners out of it.
10 Las estrellas de las constelaciones del cielo no brillarán. Cuando el sol se levante, quedará oscuro. La luna no dará luz.
For the starres of heauen and the planets thereof shall not giue their light: the sunne shalbe darkened in his going foorth, and the moone shall not cause her light to shine.
11 Castigaré al mundo por su maldad, y a los impíos por su pecado, dice el Señor. Acabaré con el engreimiento de los arrogantes, y humillaré a los tiranos y su orgullo.
And I will visite the wickednes vpon the worlde, and their iniquitie vpon the wicked, and I wil cause the arrogancie of the proud to cease, and will cast downe the pride of tyrants.
12 Haré que la gente sea más escasa que el oro puro, más rara que el oro de Ofir.
I will make a man more precious then fine golde, euen a man aboue the wedge of golde of Ophir.
13 Haré temblar los cielos y haré que la tierra salte de su lugar a causa de la furia del Señor Todopoderoso, en el momento en que arda su ira.
Therefore I will shake the heauen, and the earth shall remooue out of her place in the wrath of the Lord of hostes, and in the day of his fierce anger.
14 Como una gacela cazada, o como ovejas sin pastor, los babilonios volverán a su propio pueblo, huirán a su tierra.
And it shall be as a chased doe, and as a sheepe that no man taketh vp. euery man shall turne to his owne people, and flee eche one to his owne lande.
15 Cualquiera que sea capturado, será apuñalado hasta la muerte; cualquiera que sea capturado será muerto a espada.
Euery one that is founde, shall be striken through: and whosoeuer ioyneth himselfe, shall fal by the sworde.
16 Sus hijos pequeños serán despedazados mientras miran, sus casas serán saqueadas y sus esposas serán violadas.
Their children also shall be broken in pieces before their eyes: their houses shall be spoiled, and their wiues rauished.
17 Haré que los medos los ataquen, gente a la que no le importa la plata ni el oro.
Beholde, I will stirre vp the Medes against them, which shall not regarde siluer, nor be desirous of golde.
18 Sus arcos masacrarán a sus jóvenes; no tendrán piedad de los bebés; no tendrán piedad de los niños.
With bowes also shall they destroy ye children, and shall haue no compassion vpon the fruit of the wombe, and their eies shall not spare the children.
19 Babilonia, la ciudad más maravillosa de cualquier reino, el mayor orgullo del pueblo babilónico, será demolida por Dios como Sodoma y Gomorra.
And Babel the glorie of kingdomes, the beautie and pride of the Chaldeans, shall be as the destruction of God in Sodom and Gomorah.
20 Nadie volverá a vivir en Babilonia. Estará desierta; ningún nómada del desierto instalará allí una tienda, ningún pastor llevará allí un rebaño a descansar.
It shall not bee inhabited for euer, neither shall it be dwelled in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch his tents there, neither shall the shepheardes make their foldes there.
21 Sólo los animales del desierto harán allí su hogar, y las casas en ruinas serán habitadas por perros salvajes. Los búhos vivirán allí, y las cabras salvajes saltarán alrededor.
But Ziim shall lodge there, and their houses shall be ful of Ohim: Ostriches shall dwel there, and the Satyrs shall dance there.
22 Las hienas aullarán en sus fortalezas y los chacales en sus fastuosos palacios. El tiempo de Babilonia se acerca; no perdurará por mucho más tiempo.
And Iim shall crie in their palaces, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and the time thereof is readie to come, and the daies thereof shall not be prolonged.
