Oseas 12
1 Efraín trata de guiar al viento, yendo tras el viento del este todo el día. Sus mentiras y su violencia siguen en aumento. Hicieron un tratado con Asiria, y envían el aceite de oliva a Egipto.
Ephraim, feedeth on wind, and pursueth the east wind, all the day, falsehood and force, doth he magnify, —and, a covenant with Assyria, would they solemnize, and, oil into Egypt, must be borne along.
2 El Señor tiene además una acusación en contra de Judá, y castigará a Jacob por las acciones del pueblo. Les pagará conforme a lo que han hecho.
But, a controversy, hath Yahweh with Judah, —so that he may bring punishment on Jacob, according to his ways, According to his doings, repay him.
3 Incluso desde el vientre Jacob luchó con su hermano; y cuando se hizo hombre luchó con Dios.
In the womb, took he his brother by the heel; and, in his manly vigour, strove he with God:
4 Peleó con un ángel y ganó. Lloró y le rogó por una bendición. Jacob encontró a Dios en Betel, y allí habló con él,
Yea he strove against a Messenger, and prevailed, he wept, and made supplication unto him, —At Bethel, he found him, and, there, he spake with us;
5 el Señor Dios Todopoderoso, ¡el Señor es su gran nombre!
And, Yahweh, is God of host, —Yahweh, is his memorial.
6 Ustedes deben volver a su Dios. Actúen con amor y hagan lo recto, y siempre esperen en Dios.
Thou, therefore, by thy God, shalt return, —lovingkindness and justice, do thou keep, so wait thou for thy God, continually.
7 El mercader que sostiene en sus manos una balanza alterada ama la estafa.
A trafficker! in his hand, are balances of deceit, to oppress, he loveth.
8 Efraín dice: “Soy rico! ¡Me he enriquecido! He recibido mucho fruto de mi trabajo y nadie puede demostrar que soy culpable de ningún mal”.
So then Ephraim said, Surely I have gotten me riches, I have found wealth for myself, —in all my toils, they cannot find in me perversity which is sin.
9 Pero yo soy el Señor tu Dios, que te saqué de la tierra de Egipto. Yo te hare vivir de nuevo en tiendas como lo haces en tiempos de fiesta.
But, I, Yahweh, have been thy God, from the land of Egypt, —I will yet make thee dwell in tents, as in the days of appointed meeting.
10 Yo hablé a través de los profetas. Yo mismo di muchas visiones y parábolas a través de los profetas.
And I will lay my word upon the prophets, yea, I myself, have magnified, vision, —and, by the hand of the prophets, will I use similitudes.
11 Si Galaad es idólatra, sin duda se volverán nada. Sacrifican toros en Guilgal. Incluso sus altares son como pilas de rocas en los surcos del campo.
If, Gilead, is in sorrow, surely false, have they been, In Gilgal, have they sacrificed, bullocks, —their very altars, shall become as heaps upon the furrows of the field.
12 Jacob huyó a la tierra de Harán; Israel trabajó allí para ganarse una esposa. Se ganó una esposa cuidando ovejas.
When Jacob fled to the country of Syria, then Israel served for a wife, and, for a wife, he watched over a flock.
13 A través de un profeta el Señor sacó a Israel de Egipto, y fueron cuidados por un profeta también.
And, by a prophet, Yahweh, brought up, Israel out of Egypt, —and, by a prophet, was he watched over.
14 Efraín ha hecho enojar al Señor, y el Señor los dejará sufrir las consecuencias de su derramamiento de sangre, y les pagará por su desprecio.
Ephraim hath provoked, very bitterly, —his own blood, therefore, upon him, will he leave, and, his reproach, shall his Lord, bring back to him.
