Hebreos 11
1 Ahora bien, nuestra fe en Dios es la seguridad de lo que esperamos, la evidencia de lo que no podemos ver.
But feith is the substaunce of thingis that ben to be hopid, and an argument of thingis not apperynge.
2 Los que vivieron hace mucho tiempo, creyeron en Dios y eso fue lo que les hizo obtener la aprobación de Dios.
And in this feith elde men han gete witnessyng.
3 Mediante nuestra fe en Dios comprendemos que todo el universo fue creado por su mandato, y que lo que se ve fue hecho a partir de lo que no se puede ver. (aiōn g165)
Bi feith we vndurstonden that the worldis weren maad bi Goddis word, that visible thingis weren maad of vnuysible thingis. (aiōn g165)
4 Por la fe en Dios Abel ofreció a Dios mejor sacrificio que Caín, y por eso Dios lo señaló como alguien que vivía rectamente. Dios lo demostró al aceptar su ofrenda. Aunque Abel ha estado muerto por mucho tiempo, todavía Dios nos habla por medio de lo que él hizo.
Bi feith Abel offride a myche more sacrifice than Caym to God, bi which he gat witnessyng to be iust, for God bar witnessyng to hise yiftis; and bi that feith he deed spekith yit.
5 Por fe en Dios Enoc fue llevado al cielo para que no experimentara la muerte. Y no pudieron encontrarlo en la tierra porque fue llevado al cielo. Y antes de esto, a Enoc se le conocía como alguien que agradaba a Dios.
Bi feith Ennok was translatid, that he schulde not se deth; and he was not foundun, for the Lord translatide him. For bifore translacioun he hadde witnessing that he pleside God.
6 ¡No podemos esperar que Dios se agrade de nosotros si no confiamos en él! Todo el que se acerca a Dios debe creer que él existe, y que recompensa a quienes lo buscan.
And it is impossible to plese God without feith. For it bihoueth that a man comynge to God, bileue that he is, and that he is rewardere to men that seken hym.
7 Noé creyó en Dios, y él mismo le advirtió sobre cosas que nunca antes habían sucedido. Y como Noé atendió lo que Dios le dijo, construyó un arca para salvar a su familia. Y por fe en Dios, Noé mostró que el mundo estaba equivocado, y recibió la recompensa de ser justificado por Dios.
Bi feith Noe dredde, thorouy answere takun of these thingis that yit weren not seyn, and schapide a schip in to the helthe of his hous; bi which he dampnede the world, and is ordeyned eir of riytwisnesse, which is bi feith.
8 Por la fe en Dios Abraham obedeció cuando Dios lo llamó para ir a la tierra que él le daría. Y partió sin saber hacia dónde iba.
By feith he that is clepid Abraham, obeiede to go out in to a place, whiche he schulde take in to eritage; and he wente out, not witinge whidur he schulde go.
9 Por fe en Dios vivió en la tierra prometida, pero como extranjero, viviendo en tiendas junto a Isaac y Jacob, quienes participaron con él al ser herederos de la misma promesa.
Bi feith he dwelte in the loond of biheest, as in an alien loond, dwellynge in litle housis with Ysaac and Jacob, euene heiris of the same biheest.
10 Porque Abraham buscaba una ciudad construida sobre fundamentos duraderos, siendo Dios el constructor y hacedor de ella.
For he abood a citee hauynge foundementis, whos crafti man and maker is God.
11 Por su fe en Dios, incluso la misma Sara pudo concebir un hijo aunque fuera muy vieja para hacerlo, pues creyó en Dios, que había hecho la promesa.
Bi feith also the ilke Sara bareyn, took vertu in consceyuyng of seed, yhe, ayen the tyme of age; for sche bileuede hym trewe, that hadde bihiyte.
12 Por eso, los descendientes de Abraham, (¡que ya estaba a punto de morir!), se volvieron numerosos como las estrellas del cielo e innumerables como la arena del mar.
For which thing of oon, and yit nyy deed, ther ben borun as sterris of heuene in multitude, and as grauel that is at the see side out of noumbre.
13 Y todos ellos murieron creyendo aún en Dios. Aunque no recibieron las cosas que Dios prometió, todavía las esperaban, como desde la distancia y lo aceptaron gustosos, sabiendo que eran extranjeros en esta tierra, pasajeros solamente.
Bi feith alle these ben deed, whanne the biheestis weren not takun, but thei bihelden hem afer, and gretynge hem wel, and knoulechide that thei weren pilgryms, and herboryd men on the erthe.
14 Quienes hablan de esta manera dejan ver que esperan un país que es de ellos.
And thei that sayn these thingis, signifien that thei sechen a cuntre.
15 Porque si les importara el país que habían dejado atrás, habrían regresado.
`If thei hadden hadde mynde of the ilke, of which thei wenten out, thei hadden tyme of turnyng ayen;
16 Pero ellos esperan un mejor país, un país celestial. Por eso Dios no se defrauda de ellos, y se alegra de llamarse su Dios, porque él ha construido una ciudad para ellos.
but now thei desiren a betere, that is to seie, heuenli. Therfor God is not confoundid to be clepid the God of hem; for he made redi to hem a citee.
17 Abraham creyó en Dios cuando fue puesto a prueba y ofreció a Isaac como ofrenda a Dios. Abraham, quien había aceptado las promesas de Dios, incluso estuvo listo para dar a su único hijo, como ofrenda
Bi feith Abraham offride Ysaac, whanne he was temptid; and he offride the oon bigetun, whych had takun the biheestis;
18 aun cuando se le había dicho: “Por medio de Isaac se contará tu descendencia”.
to whom it was seid, For in Ysaac the seed schal be clepid to thee.
19 Abraham consideró las cosas y concluyó que Dios podía resucitar a Isaac de los muertos. Y en cierto modo eso fue lo que sucedió: Abraham recibió de vuelta a Isaac de entre los muertos.
For he demyde, that God is myyti to reise hym, yhe, fro deth; wherfor he took hym also in to a parable.
20 Por la fe en Dios, Isaac bendijo a Jacob y a Esaú, considerando lo que el futuro traería.
Bi feith also of thingis to comynge, Ysaac blesside Jacob and Esau.
21 Confiando en Dios, Jacob, casi a punto de morir, bendijo a los hijos de José, y adoró a Dios apoyado en su bastón.
Bi feith Jacob diynge blesside alle the sones of Joseph, and onouride the hiynesse of his yerde.
22 Por fe en Dios, José, cuando se acercaba su hora de muerte también, habló sobre el éxodo de los israelitas, e instruyó sobre lo que debían hacer con sus huesos.
Bi feith Joseph dyynge hadde mynde of the passyng forth of the children of Israel, and comaundide of hise boonys.
23 Por fe en Dios, los padres de Moisés lo ocultaron durante tres meses después de nacer. Reconocieron que era un niño especial. Y no temieron ir en contra de la orden que se había dado.
Bi feith Moyses borun, was hid thre monethis of his fadir and modir, for that thei seiyen the yonge child fair; and thei dredden not the maundement of the king.
24 Por fe en Dios, Moisés, siendo ya adulto, se rehusó a ser conocido como el hijo adoptivo de la hija del Faraón.
Bi feith Moises was maad greet, and denyede that he was the sone of Faraos douytir,
25 Sino que prefirió participar de los sufrimientos del pueblo de Dios antes que disfrutar los placeres pasajeros del pecado.
and chees more to be turmentid with the puple of God, than to haue myrthe of temporal synne;
26 Y consideró que el rechazo que experimentaría por seguir a Cristo sería de mayor valor que la riqueza de Egipto, porque estaba concentrado en la recompensa que vendría.
demynge the repreef of Crist more richessis than the tresours of Egipcians; for he bihelde in to the rewarding.
27 Por fe en Dios, salió de Egipto y no tuvo temor de la ira del Faraón, sino que siguió adelante con sus ojos fijos en el Dios invisible.
Bi feith he forsook Egipt, and dredde not the hardynesse of the king; for he abood, as seinge hym that was vnuysible.
28 Por fe en Dios, Moisés observó la Pascua y la aspersión de la sangre en los dinteles, para que el ángel destructor no tocara a los israelitas.
Bi feith he halewide pask, and the scheding out of blood, that he that distriede the firste thingis of Egipcians, schulde not touche hem.
29 Por fe en Dios, los israelitas cruzaron en Mar Rojo como si caminaran por tierra seca. Y cuando los egipcios quisieron hacer lo mismo, murieron ahogados.
Bi feith thei passiden the reed see, as bi drye lond, which thing Egipcians asaiynge weren deuourid.
30 Por la fe en Dios, los israelitas marcharon alrededor de los muros de Jericó durante siete días, y los muros cayeron.
Bi feith the wallis of Jerico felden doun, bi cumpassyng of seuene daies.
31 Por fe en Dios, Rahab, la prostituta, no murió junto a los que rechazaban a Dios, porque había recibido a los espías israelitas en paz.
Bi feith Raab hoor resseyuede the aspieris with pees, and perischide not with vnbileueful men.
32 ¿Qué otro ejemplo podría mostrarles? El tiempo no me alcanza para hablar de Gedeón, Barac, Sansón, Jefté; o sobre David, Samuel y los profetas.
And what yit schal Y seie? For tyme schal faile to me tellynge of Gedeon, Barak, Sampson, Jepte, Dauid, and Samuel, and of othere prophetis;
33 Ellos, por su fe en Dios conquistaron reinos, hicieron lo recto, recibieron las promesas de Dios, cerraron la boca de leones,
whiche bi feith ouercamen rewmes, wrouyten riytwisnesse, gaten repromyssiouns; thei stoppiden the mouthis of liouns,
34 apagaron incendios, escaparon de la muerte por espada, eran débiles pero se volvieron fuertes, lograron grandes cosas en guerras, y dirigieron ejércitos.
thei quenchiden the feersnesse of fier, thei dryueden awei the egge of swerd, thei coueriden of sijknesse, thei weren maad strong in batel, thei turneden the oostis of aliens.
35 Muchas mujeres recibieron a sus familiares con vida por medio de la resurrección. Otros fueron torturados, al negarse a rechazar a Dios para ser perdonados, porque querían ser parte de una mejor resurrección.
Wymmen resseyueden her deed children fro deth to lijf; but othere weren holdun forth, not takinge redempcioun, that thei schulden fynde a betere ayenrising.
36 E incluso otros recibieron insultos y latigazos; y fueron encadenados y encarcelados.
And othere asaieden scornyngis and betingis, more ouer and boondis and prisouns.
37 Algunos fueron apedreados, tentados, muertos a espada. Algunos fueron vestidos con pieles de corderos y cabras: destituidos, oprimidos y maltratados.
Thei weren stoned, thei weren sawid, thei weren temptid, thei weren deed in sleyng of swerd. Thei wenten aboute in broc skynnes, and in skynnes of geet, nedi, angwischid, turmentid;
38 Les digo que el mundo no era digno de tener a tales personas errantes en los desiertos y montañas, viviendo en cuevas y en huecos debajo de la tierra.
to whiche the world was not worthi. Thei erriden in wildernessis, in mounteynes and dennes, and caues of the erthe.
39 Todas estas personas, aunque tenían la aprobación de Dios, no recibieron lo que Dios había prometido.
And alle these, preued bi witnessing of feith, token not repromyssioun;
40 Él nos ha dado algo aún mejor, para que ellos no llegaran a la plenitud sin nosotros.
for God purueiede sum betere thing for vs, that thei schulden not be maad perfit with outen vs.
