Hebreos 10

1 La ley es apenas una sombra de las cosas buenas que vendrían, y no de la realidad como tal. De modo que no podía justificar a los que venían a adorar a Dios por medio de sacrificios repetitivos que se ofrecían cada año.

For the law having but a faint shadow of good things to come, and not the full image of the things, can never, even by the great annual sacrifices which they offer statedly, make the comers thereunto perfect.

2 De otro modo ¿no se habrían detenido los sacrificios? Si los adoradores hubieran sido limpiados una vez y para siempre, nunca más habrían tenido conciencias culpables.

For then they would have ceased to be offered, because the sacrificers, being once purified, would no longer retain any consciousness of sins.

3 Pero tales sacrificios, en efecto, le recuerdan a la gente los pecados año tras año,

Whereas in these very sacrifices there is a recalling of sins to mind every year.

4 porque es imposible que la sangre de toros y cabras quite los pecados.

For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

5 Por eso, cuando Cristo vino al mundo dijo: “Tú no querías sacrificios ni ofrendas, sino que preparaste un cuerpo para mí.

Wherefore upon his coming into the world He saith, "Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire, but a body hast thou prepared me:

6 Las ofrendas quemadas y los sacrificios por el pecado no te agradaron.

in whole burnt-offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hadst no pleasure:

7 Entonces dije: ‘Dios, considera que he venido a hacer tu voluntad, tal como se dice de mí en el libro’”.

then said I, Lo I come, as in the volume of the book it is written of me, to do thy will, O God."

8 Como se menciona arriba: “No quisiste sacrificios ni ofrendas. Las ofrendas quemadas y los sacrificios por el pecado no te agradaron”, (aunque eran ofrecidos conforme a los requisitos de la ley).

Having said before, "Thou didst not desire, nor hadst pleasure in, sacrifice and offering, and whole burnt-offerings, and sacrifices for sin," (which are offered by the law) then He adds,

9 Entonces él dijo: “Mira, he venido a hacer tu voluntad”. Entonces él abandona el primer pacto para establecer el segundo,

"Lo I come to do thy will, O God." (He taketh away the first, that He may establish the second.)

10 por medio del cual todos somos santificados a través de Jesucristo, quien ofrece su cuerpo una vez y para siempre.

By which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11 Todos los sumos sacerdotes ofician en los servicios cada día, una y otra vez, ofreciendo los mismos sacrificios que no pueden quitar los pecados.

And indeed every priest under the law standeth daily ministring, and frequently offering the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

12 Pero este Sacerdote, después de ofrecer un solo sacrificio por los pecados, que dura para siempre, se sentó a la diestra de Dios.

but He having offered one sacrifice for sins, is for ever sat down at the right hand of God;

13 Y ahora espera hasta que todos sus enemigos sean vencidos, y vengan a ser como banquillo para sus pies.

waiting for the future, till his enemies be put under his feet.

14 Porque con un solo sacrificio él justificó para siempre a los que están siendo santificados.

For by one offering He hath perfected for ever those that are sanctified.

15 Tal como nos dice el Espíritu Santo, por haber dicho:

And of this the holy Ghost also beareth witness with us:

16 “Este es el pacto que haré con ellos más adelante, dice el Señor. Pondré mis leyes en sus corazones, y las escribiré en sus mentes”. Entonces añade:

for after He had said, "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and on their minds will I inscribe them;

17 “Nunca más me acordaré de sus pecados e iniquidades”.

He adds, and their sins and their iniquities I will remember no more."

18 Después de estar libres de tales cosas, las ofrendas por el pecado ya no son necesarias.

Now where there is such a remission of these, there needs no more offering for sin.

19 Ahora tenemos esta seguridad, hermanos y hermanas, de poder entrar al Lugar Santísimo por la sangre de Jesús.

Having therefore, brethren, free admission into the holy places by the blood of Jesus,

20 Por medio de su vida y muerte, él abrió a través del velo que nos lleva hacia Dios, una nueva forma de vivir.

the new and living way which He hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say,

21 Siendo que tenemos este gran sacerdote que está a cargo de la casa de Dios,

his flesh, and having a great high-priest over the house of God,

22 acerquémonos a Dios, con mentes sinceras y plena confianza. Nuestras mentes han sido rociadas para purificarlas de nuestros malos pensamientos, y nuestros cuerpos han sido lavados y limpiados con agua pura.

let us draw near with sincerity, in the full assurance of faith, having our hearts cleansed from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

23 Así que aferrémonos a la esperanza de la cual les hablamos a otros, y sin dudar, porque el Dios que prometió es fiel.

Let us inflexibly retain the profession of our hope,

24 Pensemos en cómo podemos animarnos unos a otros a amar y hacer el bien.

(for He is faithful who hath promised) and let us observe each other to the incitement of love and good works:

25 No deberíamos desistir en cuanto a reunirnos, como algunos lo han hecho. De hecho, deberíamos animarnos unos a otros, especialmente cuando vemos que el Fin se acerca.

not forsaking our assemblies, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more as ye see the day approaching.

26 Porque si seguimos pecando deliberadamente después de haber entendido la verdad, ya no hay sacrificio para los pecados.

For if we sin wilfully after having received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins;

27 Lo único que queda es el temor, la espera de un juicio inminente y el fuego terrible que destruye a los que son rebeldes con Dios.

but a dreadful expectation of judgement, and a fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

28 Quien rechaza la ley de Moisés es llevado a muerte sin misericordia, ante la evidencia de dos o tres testigos.

If any one that violateth the law of Moses, dieth without mercy under two or three witnesses,

29 ¿Cuánto más merecedores de castigo creen que serán quienes hayan pisoteado al Hijo de Dios, siendo que han menospreciado la sangre que selló el pacto que nos santificaba, considerándolo como ordinario y trivial, y que han abusado del Espíritu de gracia?

of how much greater punishment, think ye, shall he be counted worthy, who hath trampled under foot the Son of God, and accounted the blood of the covenant, by which he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and abused the Spirit of grace?

30 Conocemos a Dios, y él dijo: “Me aseguraré de hacer justicia; le daré a la gente lo que merece”. También dijo: “El Señor juzgará a su pueblo”.

For we know who hath said, "To me belongeth vengeance, I will recompense, saith the Lord:" and again, "The Lord will judge his people."

31 ¡Cosa terrible es caer en manos del Dios vivo!

It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

32 Recuerden el pasado, cuando después de entender la verdad, experimentaron gran sufrimiento.

But call to remembrance the former days, in which after being enlightened, ye sustained a great conflict of sufferings;

33 En ocasiones fueron mostrados como espectáculos, siendo insultados y atacados. En otros tiempos ustedes se mantuvieron siendo solidarios con los que sufrían.

partly, being made a public spectacle by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, as ye became associates of those who were so treated:

34 Mostraron compasión con los que estaban en la cárcel, y entregaron con alegría sus posesiones cuando les fueron confiscadas, sabiendo que cosas mejores vendrán para ustedes, cosas que realmente perdurarán.

for ye sympathized with me in my bonds, and ye took joyfully the plundering of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.

35 Así que no pierdan su fe en Dios, porque será recompensada con abundancia.

Cast not away therefore your couragious profession, which hath a great recompence of reward.

36 Es necesario que sean pacientes, para que habiendo hecho la voluntad de Dios, reciban lo que él ha prometido.

For ye have need of patience, that having done the will of God ye may receive the promise.

37 “En poco tiempo vendrá, tal como lo dijo, y no tardará.

For yet a little while, and He, that is coming, will come, and will not delay:

38 Los que hacen lo recto vivirán por su fe en Dios, y si se retractan de su compromiso, no me agradaré de ellos”.

and the just shall live by faith, but if any draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

39 Pero nosotros no somos la clase de personas que se retracta y termina en la perdición. Nosotros somos los que creemos en Dios y su salvación.

But we are not of those who withdraw to perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
