Génesis 50
1 José fue y abrazó a su padre, llorando sobre él y besándolo.
And Joseph falleth on his father's face, and weepeth over him, and kisseth him;
2 Luego José instruyó a los médicos que trabajaban para él que embalsamaran el cuerpo de su padre. Así que los médicos embalsamaron a Israel.
and Joseph commandeth his servants, the physicians, to embalm his father, and the physicians embalm Israel;
3 Esto tomó 40 días, el tiempo normal para el proceso, y los egipcios lloraron por él durante 70 días.
and they fulfil for him forty days, for so they fulfil the days of the embalmed, and the Egyptians weep for him seventy days.
4 Una vez terminado el tiempo de luto, José dijo a los oficiales del Faraón: “Si son tan amables, por favor hablen con el Faraón en mi nombre y explíquenle que
And the days of his weeping pass away, and Joseph speaketh unto the house of Pharaoh, saying, 'If, I pray you, I have found grace in your eyes, speak, I pray you, in the ears of Pharaoh, saying,
5 mi padre me hizo hacer un juramento, diciéndome: ‘Debes enterrarme en la tumba que he preparado para mí en Canaán’. Por favor, permíteme ir a enterrar a mi padre y luego volveré”.
My father caused me to swear, saying, Lo, I am dying; in my burying-place which I have prepared for myself in the land of Canaan, there dost thou bury me; and now, let me go up, I pray thee, and bury my father, and return;'
6 El Faraón respondió: “Ve y entierra a tu padre como te hizo jurar”.
and Pharaoh saith, 'Go up and bury thy father, as he caused thee to swear.'
7 José fue a enterrar a su padre, y todos los oficiales del Faraón fueron con él, todos los consejeros principales del Faraón y todos los líderes de Egipto,
And Joseph goeth up to bury his father, and go up with him do all the servants of Pharaoh, elders of his house, and all the elders of the land of Egypt,
8 así como la familia de José, sus hermanos y la familia de su padre. Sólo dejaron a los niños pequeños y sus rebaños y manadas en Gosén.
and all the house of Joseph, and his brethren, and the house of his father; only their infants, and their flock, and their herd, have they left in the land of Goshen;
9 Fueron acompañados por carros y jinetes, una procesión muy grande.
and there go up with him both chariot and horsemen, and the camp is very great.
10 Cuando llegaron a la era de Atad, al otro lado del Jordán, lloraron con gritos de dolor. José celebró una ceremonia de siete días de luto por su padre allí.
And they come unto the threshing-floor of Atad, which [is] beyond the Jordan, and they lament there, a lamentation great and very grievous; and he maketh for his father a mourning seven days,
11 Los cananeos que vivían allí vieron la ceremonia de duelo en la era de Atad. Dijeron: “Este es un momento muy triste de luto para los egipcios”, así que rebautizaron el lugar como Abel-Mizraim, que está al otro lado del Jordán.
and the inhabitant of the land, the Canaanite, see the mourning in the threshing-floor of Atad, and say, 'A grievous mourning [is] this to the Egyptians;' therefore hath [one] called its name 'The mourning of the Egyptians,' which [is] beyond the Jordan.
12 Los hijos de Jacob hicieron lo que él les había ordenado.
And his sons do to him so as he commanded them,
13 Llevaron su cuerpo a Canaán y lo enterraron en la cueva de Macpela, en el campo cerca de Mamre, el cual Abraham le había comprado a Efrón el hitita como lugar de sepultura.
and his sons bear him away to the land of Canaan, and bury him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, which Abraham bought with the field for a possession of a burying-place, from Ephron the Hittite, on the front of Mamre.
14 Después de enterrar a su padre, José y sus hermanos regresaron a Egipto junto con todos los que habían ido con ellos.
And Joseph turneth back to Egypt, he and his brethren, and all who are going up with him to bury his father, after his burying his father.
15 Sin embargo, ahora que su padre había muerto, los hermanos de José se preocuparon diciendo: “Tal vez José nos guarde rencor y nos pague por todas las cosas malas que le hicimos”.
And the brethren of Joseph see that their father is dead, and say, 'Peradventure Joseph doth hate us, and doth certainly return to us all the evil which we did with him.'
16 Así que enviaron un mensaje a José para decirle: “Antes de que tu padre muriera, dio esta orden,
And they give a charge for Joseph, saying, 'Thy father commanded before his death, saying,
17 ‘Esto es lo que debes decirle a José: Perdona a tus hermanos sus pecados, las cosas malas que te hicieron, tratándote de una manera tan desagradable’. Ahora, por favor, perdona nuestros pecados, nosotros que somos siervos del Dios de tu padre”. Cuando José recibió el mensaje, lloró.
Thus ye do say to Joseph, I pray thee, bear, I pray thee, with the transgression of thy brethren, and their sin, for they have done thee evil; and now, bear, we pray thee, with the transgression of the servants of the God of thy father;' and Joseph weepeth in their speaking unto him.
18 Entonces sus hermanos vinieron y se postraron ante José y le dijeron: “¡Somos tus esclavos!”
And his brethren also go and fall before him, and say, 'Lo, we [are] to thee for servants.'
19 “¡No necesitan tener miedo!” les dijo. “No me pongo en el lugar de Dios, ¿verdad?
And Joseph saith unto them, 'Fear not, for [am] I in the place of God?
20 Aunque ustedes conspiraron cosas malas para mí, Dios planeó para el bien, a fin de que muchas vidas pudieran ser salvadas.
As for you, ye devised against me evil — God devised it for good, in order to do as [at] this day, to keep alive a numerous people;
21 Así que no se preocupen. Seguiré cuidando de ustedes y de sus hijos”. Hablando amablemente así los calmó.
and now, fear not: I do nourish you and your infants;' and he comforteth them, and speaketh unto their heart.
22 Y José permaneció en Egipto, junto con toda la familia de su padre. Vivió hasta los 110 años,
And Joseph dwelleth in Egypt, he and the house of his father, and Joseph liveth a hundred and ten years,
23 y vio tres generaciones de su hijo Efraín, y los hijos de Maquir, el hijo de Manasés, fueron puestos en su regazo cuando nacieron.
and Joseph looketh on Ephraim's sons of the third [generation]; sons also of Machir, son of Manasseh, have been born on the knees of Joseph.
24 “Voy a morir pronto”, les dijo José a sus hermanos, “pero Dios estará con ustedes, y los llevará fuera de este país a la tierra que juró dar a Abraham, Isaac y Jacob”.
And Joseph saith unto his brethren, 'I am dying, and God doth certainly inspect you, and hath caused you to go up from this land, unto the land which He hath sworn to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.'
25 José hizo jurar a los hijos de Israel, diciendo: “Cuando Dios venga a estar con ustedes, deben llevarse mis huesos cuando se vayan”.
And Joseph causeth the sons of Israel to swear, saying, 'God doth certainly inspect you, and ye have brought up my bones from this [place].'
26 José murió cuando tenía 110 años. Después de que su cuerpo fue embalsamado, fue colocado en un ataúd en Egipto.
And Joseph dieth, a son of an hundred and ten years, and they embalm him, and he is put into a coffin in Egypt.
