Génesis 12
1 Y el Señor le dijo a Abram: “Deja tu país, tu familia y el hogar de tu familia, y vete al país que yo te mostraré.
For the Lord had said vnto Abram, Get thee out of thy countrey, and from thy kindred, and from thy fathers house vnto the land that I will shewe thee.
2 Te convertiré en el predecesor de una gran nación y te bendeciré. Te daré una gran reputación y haré que seas una bendición para otros.
And I will make of thee a great nation, and will blesse thee, and make thy name great, and thou shalt be a blessing.
3 Bendeciré a los que te bendigan, y maldeciré a los que te maldigan. Todos en la tierra serán benditos a través de ti”.
I will also blesse them that blesse thee, and curse them that curse thee, and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
4 Así que Abram siguió las instrucciones del Señor, y Lot también se fue con él. Abram tenía 75 años cuando se fue de Harán.
So Abram departed, euen as ye Lord spake vnto him, and Lot went with him. (And Abram was seuentie and fiue yeere olde, when he departed out of Haran)
5 Junto a él iba su esposa Sarai, su sobrino Lot, y llevaron consigo todas las posesiones que habían acumulado, así como a las personas que se les unieron en Harán. Salieron y se fueron hacia la tierra de Canaán. Cuando llegaron allí,
Then Abram tooke Sarai his wife, and Lot his brothers sonne, and all their substance that they possessed, and the soules that they had gotten in Haran, and they departed, to goe to the land of Canaan: and to the land of Canaan they came.
6 Abram viajó por todo el país hasta que llegó a un lugar llamado Siquén, haciendo una pausa en el roble que estaba en Moré. En ese tiempo, el país estaba ocupado por los caananitas.
So Abram passed through the land vnto the place of Shechem, and vnto the plaine of Moreh (and the Canaanite was then in ye land)
7 Entonces el Señor se le apareció a Abram y le dijo: “Esta tierra te la daré a ti y a tus descendientes”. Así que Abram construyó un altar allí porque allí se le apareció el Señor.
And the Lord appeared vnto Abram, and said, Vnto thy seede will I giue this land. And there builded he an altar vnto the Lord, which appeared vnto him.
8 Y entonces se mudó hacia la región montañosa, al oriente de Betel y armó su campamento allí. Betel estaba en el occidente Ay quedaba en el oriente. Abram construyó allí un altar al Señor y lo adoró.
Afterward remouing thence vnto a moutaine Eastward from Beth-el, he pitched his tent hauing Beth-el on the Westside, and Haai on the East: and there he built an altar vnto the Lord, and called on the Name of the Lord.
9 Después se fue de allí, camino al Neguev.
Againe Abram went forth going and iourneying toward the South.
10 Pero sucedió que una gran hambruna había azotado esta tierra. De modo que Abram siguió hacia Egipto, con planes de vivir allí, pues la hambruna era muy severa.
Then there came a famine in the land: therefore Abram went downe into Egypt to soiourne there: for there was a great famine in the lande.
11 Al acercarse a Egipto, cuando estaba a punto de cruzar la frontera, Abram le dijo a su esposa Sarai: “Yo sé que eres una mujer muy hermosa.
And when he drewe neere to enter into Egypt, he said to Sarai his wife, Beholde nowe, I know that thou art a faire woman to looke vpon:
12 Y cuando los egipcios te vean, dirán, ‘ella es su esposa,’ y me matarán, pero no a ti.
Therefore it will come to passe, that when the Egyptians see thee, they will say, She is his wife: so will they kill me, but they will keepe thee aliue.
13 Así que mejor diles que eres mi hermana, para que me traten bien por ti, y así mi vida estará a salvo gracias a ti”.
Say, I pray thee, that thou art my sister, that I may fare well for thy sake, and that my life may be preserued by thee.
14 Cuando Abram llegó a Egipto, la gente allí notó lo hermosa que era Sarai.
Nowe when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians behelde the woman: for she was very faire.
15 Los oficiales del faraón se dieron cuenta también y le hablaron al faraón bien de Sarai. Así que Sarai fue llevada a su palacio para convertirse en una de sus esposas.
And the Princes of Pharaoh sawe her, and commended her vnto Pharaoh: so the woman was taken into Pharaohs house:
16 Y el faraón trataba bien a Abram por causa de ella, y le dio ovejas y ganado, así como asnos y asnas, y además sirvientes tanto hombres como mujeres, y camellos.
Who intreated Abram well for her sake, and he had sheepe, and beeues, and hee asses, and men seruants and maide seruants, and shee asses, and camelles.
17 Pero el Señor hizo que el faraón y los que habitaban en su palacio sufrieran una terrible enfermedad por causa de Sarai, la esposa de Abram.
But the Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues, because of Sarai Abrams wife.
18 Así que el faraón ordernó que trajeran a Abram delante de él, y le dijo: “¿Qué me has hecho? ¿Por qué no me dijiste que ella era tu esposa?
Then Pharaoh called Abram, and saide, Why hast thou done this vnto me? Wherefore diddest thou not tell me, that she was thy wife?
19 ¿Por qué dijiste ‘ella es mi hermana,’ y me dejaste traerla para convertirse en una de mis esposas? ¡Aquí tienes a tu esposa! ¡Llévatela y vete!”
Why saidest thou, She is my sister, that I should take her to be my wife? Nowe therefore beholde thy wife, take her and goe thy way.
20 Y el faraón dio orden a sus guardas para que lo expulsaran a él y a su esposa del país, junto a todos los que iban con él y todas sus posesiones.
And Pharaoh gaue men commandement concerning him: and they conueyed him forth, and his wife, and all that he had.
