Génesis 11
1 En ese tiempo se hablaba en todo el mundo un solo idioma y todos usaban palabras con el mismo significado.
Then the whole earth was of one language and one speache.
2 Al trasladarse hacia el oriente, descubrieron una llanura en la región del Sinar y se asentaron allí.
And as they went from the East, they found a plaine in the land of Shinar, and there they abode.
3 Y se dijeron unos a otros: “Vengan, juntemos ladrillos y cocinémoslos con fuego”. (Usaron ladrillo en lugar de piedra, y alquitrán en lugar de cemento).
And they said one to another, Come, let vs make bricke, and burne it in the fire. So they had bricke for stone, and slime had they in steade of morter.
4 Y entonces dijeron: “Construyamos ahora una ciudad para nosotros mismos con una torre cuya cúspide llegue hasta el cielo. Así lograremos tener una gran reputación y no andaremos dispersos por todo el mundo”.
Also they said, Goe to, let vs builde vs a citie and a towre, whose top may reache vnto the heauen, that we may get vs a name, lest we be scattered vpon the whole earth.
5 Pero el Señor descendió para mirar la ciudad y la torre que estas personas estaban construyendo.
But the Lord came downe, to see the citie and towre, which the sonnes of men builded.
6 Y el Señor dijo: “Miren cómo estas personas están unidas y hablando el mismo idioma. ¡Si pueden lograr todo esto tan solo comenzando, nada les será imposible si se fijan un propósito!
And the Lord said, Beholde, the people is one, and they all haue one language, and this they begin to doe, neither can they now be stopped from whatsoeuer they haue imagined to do.
7 Necesitamos bajar allí y confundir su idioma para que no puedan entender lo que se dicen unos a otros”.
Come on, let vs goe downe, and there confound their language, that euery one perceiue not anothers speache.
8 Y entonces el Señor los expulsó de allí e hizo que se dispersaran por todo el mundo, y dejaron de construir la ciudad.
So ye Lord scattered them from thence vpon all the earth, and they left off to build the citie.
9 Por eso la ciudad fue llamada Babel, porque el Señor confundió el idioma que se hablaba en el mundo.
Therefore the name of it was called Babel, because the Lord did there confounde the language of all the earth: from thence then did the Lord scatter them vpon all the earth.
10 La siguiente es la genealogía de Sem. Cuando Sem tuvo 100 años, nació su hijo Arfaxad. Esto sucedió dos años después del diluvio.
These are the generations of Shem: Shem was an hundreth yeere olde, and begate Arpachshad two yeere after the flood.
11 Después del nacimiento de Arfaxad, Sem vivió 500 años más y tuvo más hijos e hijas.
And Shem liued, after he begate Arpachshad, fiue hundreth yeeres, and begate sonnes and daughters.
12 Cuando Arfaxad tuvo 35 años, nació su hijo Selaj.
Also Arpachshad liued fiue and thirtie yeeres, and begate Shelah.
13 Después del nacimiento de Selaj, Arfaxad vivió 403 años más y tuvo más hijos e hijas.
And Arpachshad liued, after he begate Shelah, foure hundreth and three yeeres, and begate sonnes and daughters.
14 Cuando Selaj tuvo 30 años, nació su hijo Éber.
And Shelah liued thirtie yeeres, and begat Eber.
15 Después del nacimiento de Éber, Selaj vivió 403 años más y tuvo más hijos e hijas.
So Shelah liued, after he begat Eber, foure hundreth and three yeeres, and begat sonnes and daughters.
16 Cuando Éber tuvo 34 años, nació su hijo Peleg.
Likewise Eber liued foure and thirtie yeres, and begate Peleg.
17 Después del nacimiento de Peleg, Éber vivió 430 años más y tuvo más hijos e hijas.
So Eber liued, after he begate Peleg, foure hundreth and thirtie yeeres, and begate sonnes and daughters
18 Cuando Peleg tuvo 30 años, nació su hijo Reú.
And Peleg liued thirtie yeeres, and begate Reu.
19 Después del nacimiento de Reú, Peleg vivió 209 años más y tuvo más hijos e hijas.
And Peleg liued, after he begate Reu, two hundreth and nine yeeres, and begate sonnes and daughters.
20 Cuando Reú tuvo 32 años, nació su hijo Serug.
Also Reu liued two and thirtie yeeres, and begate Serug.
21 Después del nacimiento de Serug, Reú vivió 207 años más, y tuvo más hijos e hijas.
So Reu liued, after he begate Serug, two hundreth and seuen yeeres, and begate sonnes and daughters.
22 Cuando Serug tuvo 30 años, nació su hijo Nacor.
Moreouer Serug liued thirtie yeeres, and begate Nahor.
23 Después del nacimiento de Nacor, Serug vivió 200 años más y tuvo más hijos e hijas.
And Serug liued, after he begate Nahor, two hundreth yeeres, and begate sonnes and daughters.
24 Cuando Nacor tuvo 29 años, nació su hijo Téraj.
And Nahor liued nine and twentie yeeres, and begate Terah.
25 Después del nacimiento de Téraj, Nacor vivió 119 años más, y tuvo más hijos e hijas.
So Nahor liued, after he begate Terah, an hundreth and nineteene yeeres, and begat sonnes and daughters.
26 Cuando Téraj tuvi 70 años, nacieron sus hijos Abram, Nacor y Harán.
So Terah liued seuentie yeeres, and begate Abram, Nahor, and Haran.
27 Esta es la genealogía de Téraj. Téraj fue el padre de Abram, Nacor y Harán. Harán fue el padre de Lot.
Nowe these are the generations of Terah: Terah begate Abram, Nahor, and Haran: and Haran begate Lot.
28 Sin embargo, Harán murió cuando si padre Téraj aún vivía en Ur de los caldeos, la tierra donde nació.
Then Haran died before Terah his father in the land of his natiuitie, in Vr of the Caldees.
29 Tanto Abram como Nacor se casaron. La esposa de Abram se llamaba Sarai, y la esposa de Nacor se llamaba Milca. (Milca era hija de Harán, quien era padre tanto de Milca como de Jiscá).
So Abram and Nahor tooke them wiues. The name of Abrams wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahors wife Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.
30 Sarai no podia quedar embarazada, por lo tanto no tenía hijos.
But Sarai was barren, and had no childe.
31 Téraj tomó a su hijo Abram, a su nieto Lot, (quien era el hijo de Arám), a su nuera Sarai, (que era la esposa de su hijo Abram), y se fue de Ur de los caldeos para mudarse a Canaán. Llegaron hasta Harán y se quedaron a vivir allí.
Then Terah tooke Abram his sonne, and Lot the sonne of Haran, his sonnes sonne, and Sarai his daughter in lawe, his sonne Abrams wife: and they departed together from Vr of the Caldees, to goe into the land of Canaan, and they came to Haran, and dwelt there.
32 Téraj vivió 205 años y murió en Harán.
So the dayes of Terah were two hundreth and fiue yeeres, and Terah died in Haran.
