Ezequiel 26

1 El primer día del mes del undécimo año, vino a mí un mensaje del Señor que decía:

And it came to pass in the eleventh year, on the first day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

2 “Hijo de hombre, porque Tiro dijo de Jerusalén: ‘¡Oh, qué bien! La puerta comercial de las naciones se ha roto: se ha abierto de par en par para mí. Ahora que Jerusalén ha sido destruida, seré rico’,

Son of man, because Tyre hath said concerning Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken that was the gates of the people; she is turned unto me; I shall be made full, now she is laid in ruins:

3 por eso el Señor Dios dice: ¡Cuidado, Tiro! Te estoy condenando, y haré que muchas naciones vengan a atacarte, como el mar que lanza sus olas contra la orilla.

Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I am against thee, O Tyre, and will bring up against thee many nations, as the sea causeth its waves to come up.

4 Destruirán los muros de Tiro y derribarán sus torres. Rasparé la tierra que hay sobre ella y la convertiré en una roca desnuda.

And they shall destroy the walls of Tyre, and pull down her towers: I will also flood away her earth from her, and I will change her into a naked rock.

5 En el mar será sólo un lugar para que los pescadores extiendan sus redes. Yo he hablado, declara el Señor Dios. Otras naciones vendrán a saquearla,

A place for the spreading out of nets shall she be in the midst of the sea; for I have spoken it, saith the Lord Eternal: and she shall become a spoil to the nations.

6 y los habitantes de sus aldeas en tierra firme morirán a espada. Entonces sabrán que yo soy el Señor.

And her daughters that are in the field shall be slain with the sword: and they shall know that I am the Lord.

7 “Porque esto es lo que dice el Señor Dios: Mira cómo traigo a Nabucodonosor, rey de reyes, para que ataque a Tiro desde el norte. Vendrá con caballos, carros, caballería y un enorme ejército.

For thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I will bring against Tyre Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, from the north, the king of kings, with horses, and with chariot's, and with horsemen, and an assemblage, and a numerous people.

8 Matará a espada a la gente que vive en tus pueblos de tierra firme. Construirá obras de asedio para atacarte. Construirá una rampa contra tus murallas, y sus soldados sostendrán sus escudos sobre ellas mientras avanzan hacia ti.

Thy daughters in the field will he slay with the sword: and he shall place around thee works of attack, and cast up against thee a mound, and erect against thee a target-fence.

9 Hará que sus arietes destrocen tus murallas y utilizará sus herramientas para demoler tus torres.

And his catapults shall he set against thy walls, and thy towers shall he break down with his axes.

10 Tendrá tantos caballos que quedarás cubierto por el polvo que levanten. “Cuando entre por tus puertas, sonará como un ejército cargando contra una ciudad derrotada. Tus muros temblarán por el ruido de la caballería, de los carros y de las carrozas.

By reason of the abundance of his horses shall the dust they raise cover thee: by reason of the noise of horsemen, and wheels, and chariots, shall thy walls quake, when he entereth into thy gates, as men enter into a city that is broken in.

11 Sus caballos correrán por las calles de tu ciudad. Matará a toda tu gente con la espada. Tus enormes pilares caerán al suelo.

With the hoofs of his horses shall he tread down all thy streets: thy people will he slay with the sword, and the statues of thy strength shall come down to the ground.

12 Robarán tus riquezas y saquearán tus bienes. Derribarán tus murallas, demolerán las casas que tanto amas y arrojarán los escombros y los restos al mar.

And they shall plunder thy riches, and make a spoil of thy merchandise; and they shall break down thy walls, and thy pleasure-houses shall they pull down: and thy stones and thy timber and thy earth shall they throw into the midst of the water.

13 “Así es como voy a poner fin a tu canto. Ya no se escuchará la música de tus arpas.

And I will cause the sound of thy songs to cease: and the tones of thy harps shall not be heard any more.

14 Te convertiré en una roca desnuda, y serás sólo un lugar para que los pescadores tiendan sus redes. Tiro no se reconstruirá jamás. Yo, el Señor, he hablado, declara el Señor Dios.

And I will change thee into a naked rock; a place to spread out nets upon shalt thou be; thou shalt not be rebuilt any more; for I the Lord have spoken it, saith the Lord Eternal.

15 “Esto es lo que dice el Señor Dios a los habitantes de Tiro: ¿No van a temblar de terror los pueblos de las costas cuando oigan que tu ciudad se derrumba, cuando los heridos giman por la matanza dentro de tu ciudad?

Thus hath said the Lord Eternal to Tyre, Truly at the noise of thy fall, when the deadly wounded whine, when the slaughter taketh place in the midst of thee, shall the islands quake.

16 “Todos los gobernantes de las tierras costeras bajarán de sus tronos, se quitarán sus ropas reales y se quitarán sus ropas bordadas. En su lugar, se vestirán de terror y se sentarán en el suelo, temblando todo el tiempo, conmocionados por lo que te ha sucedido.

Then shall all the princes of the sea come down from their thrones, and lay aside their robes, and their broidered garments shall they put off: with trembling shall they clothe themselves; upon the ground shall they sit, and shall tremble at every moment, and be astonished concerning thee.

17 Entonces cantarán una canción fúnebre para ti, diciendo, “‘¡Has sido destruida por completo, famosa ciudad! Antes dominabas el mar: ¡tú y tu pueblo aterraban a todos los demás!

And they shall lift up over thee a lamentation, and say to thee, How art thou lost, that wast inhabited [safely] by reason of the seas: O renowned city, which was strong on the sea, she and her inhabitants, who caused their terror to be on all that dwelt around her!

18 Ahora los pueblos de las costas tiemblan ante tu derrota, mientras que los de las islas del mar se horrorizan ante tu caída’.

Now shall the isles tremble on the day of thy fall; yea, the isles that are in the sea shall be troubled at thy end.

19 “Porque esto es lo que dice el Señor Dios: Te convertiré en una ruina como las demás ciudades deshabitadas. Haré que el mar se levante para cubrirte con aguas profundas.

For thus hath said the Lord Eternal, When I render thee a ruined city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I bring up over thee the deep, and when the great waters cover thee:

20 Te haré descender con los que se dirigen a la tumba para reunirte con los pueblos de antaño. Te haré vivir bajo la tierra como las ruinas del pasado junto con los que han bajado a la tumba, de modo que nadie vivirá en ti y no tendrás lugar en la tierra de los vivos.

Then will I bring thee down with those that descend into the pit, unto the people of olden time, and I will cause thee to dwell in the land of the nether world, among ruins of ancient days, with those that go down to the pit, in order that thou mayest not be inhabited; but I will bestow glory in the land of life.

21 Te convertiré en algo horrible y ya no existirás. La gente te buscará, pero no te encontrará jamás, declara el Señor Dios”.

As though thou hadst not been will I render thee, and thou shalt be no more: and thou shalt be sought for, but thou shalt never be found any more to eternity, saith the Lord Eternal.
