Deuteronomio 33
1 La siguiente es la bendición que Moisés, el hombre de Dios, les dio a los israelitas antes de morir.
Now, this, is the blessing wherewith Moses, the man of God, blessed the sons of Israel, —before his death.
2 Dijo: El Señor vino del monte Sinaí y nos iluminó desde el monte Seir. Salió del monte Paran con diez mil santos, con fuego ardiente en su mano derecha.
And he said—Yahweh from Sinai, came near, —Yea he dawned, out of Seir, upon them, He shone forth out of Mount Paran, Yea he came out of holy myriads, —Out of his right hand [proceeded] fire to guide them.
3 ¡Cuánto amas al pueblo! ¡Tienes a todos los santos en tu mano! Se sientan a tus pies para escuchar tus palabras,
Yea he loved the tribes, All his holy ones, were in thy hand, —Yea, they, were encamped at thy feet, Each one bare away some of thy words.
4 la ley que Moisés nos entregó y que les pertenece a todos los israelitas.
A law, did Moses command us, —A possession, for the convocation of Jacob.
5 El Señor se convirtió en el Rey en Israel cuando los líderes del pueblo se reunieron, cuando las tribus de Israel se reunieron.
Thus became he in, Jeshurun, a king, —When the heads of the people gathered them-selves together, As one man, the tribes of Israel. [Reuben] —
6 A Rubén le dijo: “Que viva y no muera, pero que sólo tenga unos pocos hombres”.
Let Reuben live and not die, —Nor his men be easily counted.
7 A Judá le dijo: “Señor, por favor escucha el clamor de Judá y reúnelo con su pueblo. Aunque él luche por sí mismo, ayúdalo contra sus enemigos”.
And, this, is for Judah, when he said, Hear, O Yahweh, the voice of Judah, That unto his own people, thou wouldst bring him home, —Let, his own hands, suffice him, And, a helper from his adversaries, do thou become.
8 A Leví le dijo: “Tu Tumim le fue dado a Leví y tu Urim a los consagrados a Dios, los que probaste en Masá y con los cuales discutiste en las aguas de Meribá.
And of Levi, he said: Let, thy perfections and thy lights, belong unto thy man of lovingkindness, —Whom thou didst put to the proof at Massah, With whom thou didst contend over the waters of Meribah;
9 Leví dijo que no prestaba atención a su padre y a su madre, que no reconocía a sus hermanos y que no reconocía a sus hijos. Los levitas hicieron lo que usted dijo y cumplieron su acuerdo.
Who saith of his father and of his mother, I behold them not, And, his own brethren, regardeth he not, And, his own sons, observeth he not, —Because they watch thy speech, That, thy covenant, they may preserve;
10 Ellos le enseñarán tu reglamento a Jacob y tu ley a Israel. Pondrán incienso ante ti y sacrificarán holocaustos enteros en tu altar.
May teach thy regulations unto Jacob, And thy law unto Israel, —May put incense in thy nostrils, And a whole-offering upon thine altar.
11 Señor, por favor bendice lo que tienen y acepta su servicio para ti. Destruye a los que los atacan; asegúrate de que sus enemigos no se levanten nunca más”.
Bless, O Yahweh his substance, And with the work of his hands, wilt thou be well pleased, —Crush thou the loins of them who rise up against him, And of them who hate him, that they rise not again.
12 A Benjamín le dijo: “Que el que ama el Señor se mantenga seguro y a salvo en el Señor. El Señor siempre lo protege, dejándolo descansar sobre sus hombros”.
Of Benjamin, he said, The beloved of Yahweh, shall settle down securely, —With one to throw a shade over him all the day long, Yea, between his shoulders, hath he found rest.
13 A José le dijo: “Que el Señor bendiga su tierra con los mejores regalos del cielo, con el rocío y el agua de las profundidades de abajo;
And of Joseph, he said, Blessed of Yahweh, be his land, —With the precious things of the heavens with the dew, And with the abyss, couching beneath;
14 con las mejores cosechas maduradas por el sol y los mejores productos de las estaciones;
And with the precious fruits of the sun, —And with the precious yield of the moons;
15 con las mejores contribuciones de las antiguas montañas y los mejores materiales de las colinas eternas;
And with the chief of the ancient mountains, —And with the precious things of the age-abiding hills;
16 con los mejores regalos de la tierra y de todo lo que hay en ella, junto con el aprecio de quien estaba en la zarza ardiente. Que estas bendiciones descansen en la cabeza de José como una corona para este príncipe entre sus hermanos.
And with the precious things of the earth and its fulness, And with the goodwill of One who dwelt in a thorn-bush.—Let it come on the head of Joseph, And on the crown of the head of him who was consecrated among his brethren.
17 Es tan majestuoso como un toro primogénito; sus cuernos son como los de un buey salvaje. Los usará para cornear a las naciones, conduciéndolas hasta los confines de la tierra. Los cuernos representan los diez mil de Efraín, y los miles de Manasés”.
His firstborn ox, be an honour to him. And the horns of a buffalo, be his horns, With them, let him thrust, peoples, All at once, to the ends of the earth, —Yea, [with] these, the myriads of Ephraim, And, [with] those, the thousands of Manasseh.
18 A Zabulón le dijo: “Que celebre Zabulón en sus viajes e Isacar en sus tiendas.
And, of Zebulun, he said, Rejoice, Zebulun in thy going out, —And [thou], Issachar in thy tents:
19 Convocarán a los pueblos a una montaña; ofrecerán los sacrificios apropiados allí. Disfrutarán de los ricos productos de los mares y del comercio a orillas del mar”.
The peoples, unto the mountain, will they call, There, will they offer the sacrifices of righteousness, —For, the abundance of the seas, will they suck, Hidden treasures of the sand.
20 A Gad le dijo: “¡Bienaventurado el que extienda el territorio de Gad! Gad es como un león al acecho, listo para arrancar un brazo o una cabeza.
And, of Gad, he said: Blessed, be he that hath made room for Gad, —As a lioness, hath he laid himself down, And hath torn an arm likewise the crown of the head;
21 Eligió la mejor tierra para sí mismo, ya que se le asignó una parte de la regla. Se reunió con los líderes del pueblo; hizo lo que el Señor dijo que era correcto, siguiendo los preceptos del Señor para Israel”.
And hath provided a first part for himself, For, there, a commander’s portion hath been hid, —So he cometh with the heads of the people, The righteousness of Yahweh, he executeth, And his regulations, with Israel.
22 A Dan le dijo: “Dan es un joven león que salta de Basán”.
And, of Dan, he said, Dan, is a lion’s whelp, —He leapeth out of Bashan.
23 A Neftalí le dijo: “Neftalí es realmente favorecido, lleno de la bendición del Señor. Se apoderará de la tierra al oeste y al sur”.
And, of Naphtali, he said, O Naphtali! satisfied with favour, And full with the blessing of Yahweh, —The west and the sunny south, do thou possess.
24 A Aser le dijo: “Que Aser sea bendecido más que todos los demás hijos; que sea favorecido por encima de sus hermanos y que bañe sus pies en aceite de oliva.
And, of Asher, he said, Most blessed of sons, be Asher, —Let him have the goodwill of his brethren, And let him dip, in oil, his foot:
25 Que los cerrojos de tu puerta sean fuertes como el hierro y el bronce, y que seas fuerte toda tu vida”.
Iron and bronze, be thy sandals, And, as thy days, be thy strength.
26 No hay nadie como el Dios de Israel, que cabalga por los cielos para venir a ayudarte; que cabalga por las nubes en majestad.
There is none like GOD, O Jeshurun, —Riding upon the heavens to thy help, —And for his own majesty, on the skies;
27 El Dios eterno es tu hogar, y te sostiene con sus brazos eternos. Expulsa al enemigo delante de ti y da la orden: “¡Destrúyelo!”
Above, is the God of aforetime, And, beneath, are the Arms of the ages, —So he driveth before thee the foe, And doth say—Destroy!
28 Como resultado, Israel vive en paz; Jacob no tiene problemas en un país de grano y vino nuevo, donde los cielos gotean de rocío.
Thus hath Israel settled down securely, Alone, the fountain of Jacob, Within a land both of corn and new wine, —His heaven also droppeth down dew.
29 ¡Cuán bendito eres, Israel! ¿Hay alguien como tú, un pueblo salvado por el Señor? Él es el escudo que te protege, la espada que te da confianza. Tus enemigos se estremecerán ante ti, y tú los pisotearás.
How happy art thou, O Israel! Who is like unto thee, O people victorious in Yahweh? Thy helpful shield, who also is thy majestic sword, —So that thy foes come cringing unto thee, And, thou, upon their heights, dost march along.
