Deuteronomio 11
1 Amen al Señor su Dios y obedezcan su palabra, sus normas, preceptos y mandamientos.
Therefore thou shalt loue the Lord thy God, and shalt keepe that, which he commandeth to be kept: that is, his ordinances, and his lawes, and his commandements alway.
2 Dense cuenta de que son ustedes y no sus hijos los que han experimentado la disciplina del Señor su Dios. Fueron ustedes los que vieron su grandeza, su poder y su fuerza,
And consider this day (for I speake not to your children, which haue neither knowen nor seene) the chastisement of the Lord your God, his greatnesse, his mighty hande, and his stretched out arme,
3 sí como sus milagros. Vieron lo que hizo con el Faraón, rey de Egipto, y con todo su país.
And his signes, and his actes, which hee did in the middes of Egypt vnto Pharaoh the King of Egypt and vnto all his land:
4 Vieron lo que le hizo al ejército egipcio y a sus caballos y carros cuando los arrastró por el Mar Rojo, ahogándolos mientras los perseguían a ustedes. ¡La historia no ha cambiado!
And what he did vnto the hoste of the Egyptians, vnto their horses, and to their charets, when he caused the waters of the red Sea to ouerflowe them, as they pursued after you, and the Lord destroied them vnto this day:
5 Vieron lo que hizo por ustedes en el desierto hasta que llegaron aquí.
And what he did vnto you in the wildernesse, vntill yee came vnto this place:
6 Vieron lo que hizo, allí mismo entre ustedes, a Dotán y a Abiram, los hijos de Eliab de la tribu de Rubén, cuando la tierra se abrió y se los tragó: sus familias, sus tiendas y todos sus animales.
And what he did vnto Dathan and Abiram the sonnes of Eliab ye sonne of Reuben, when the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them with their housholds and their tents, and all their substance that they had in the middes of al Israel.
7 Ustedes vieron con sus propios ojos todas las cosas asombrosas que el Señor ha hecho.
For your eyes haue seene all the great actes of the Lord which he did.
8 Así que debes cumplir todos los mandamientos que te doy hoy. De esta manera tendrás la fuerza para entrar y apoderarte del país que estás cruzando el Jordán para tenerlo como tuyo,
Therefore shall ye keepe all the commandements, which I commaund you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possesse the land whither ye goe to possesse it:
9 También tendrás una larga vida en el país que el Señor prometió dar a tus antepasados y a sus descendientes, una tierra que fluye leche y miel.
Also that ye may prolong your daies in the land, which the Lord sware vnto your fathers, to giue vnto them and to their seede, euen a lande that floweth with milke and honie.
10 El país al que entrarán no es como el país de Egipto del que vienen. Allí tenían que sembrar tu semilla y trabajar duro, regando la tierra, como si estuvieran cuidando de un huerto.
For the land whither thou goest to possesse it, is not as the lande of Egypt, from whence ye came, where thou sowedst thy seede, and wateredst it with thy feete as a garden of herbes:
11 Pero en este país que habitarán al cruzar el Jordán es una tierra de montañas y valles que recibe mucha lluvia.
But the land whither ye goe to possesse it, is a land of mountaines and valleis, and drinketh water of the raine of heauen.
12 Es una tierra que el Señor su Dios cuida él mismo. El Señor su Dios siempre la está cuidando, todo el año.
This land doth the Lord thy God care for: the eies of the Lord thy God are alwaies vpon it, from the beginning of the yeere, euen vnto the ende of the yeere.
13 Así que si te dedicas a guardar los mandamientos que te doy hoy, si amas al Señor tu Dios y adoras con toda tu mente y con todo tu ser,
If yee shall hearken therefore vnto my commandements, which I commaund you this day, that yee loue the Lord your God and serue him with all your heart, and with all your soule,
14 entonces enviaré lluvia para tu tierra en el momento adecuado, lluvia en otoño y primavera, para que puedan cosechar el grano, el vino nuevo y el aceite de oliva.
I also wil giue raine vnto your land in due time, the first raine and the latter, that thou maist gather in thy wheat, and thy wine, and thine oyle.
15 También proveeré los campos de pasto para tu ganado. Tendrás más que suficiente para comer.
Also I will send grasse in thy fieldes, for thy cattel, that thou maist eate, and haue inough.
16 Pero asegúrate de que no dejarte engañar e ir a adorar e inclinarte ante otros dioses,
But beware lest your heart deceiue you, and lest yee turne aside, and serue other gods, and worship them,
17 o el Señor se enojará contigo. No enviará ninguna lluvia, y la tierra no producirá ninguna cosecha, y pronto morirás, incluso en la buena tierra que el Señor te está dando.
And so the anger of the Lord be kindled against you, and he shut vp the heauen, that there be no raine, and that your lande yeelde not her fruit, and yee perish quickly from the good land, which the Lord giueth you.
18 Concentren sus mentes en las palabras que les estoy diciendo. Amárrenlas en sus manos como recordatorio y pónganlas también en sus frentes.
Therefore shall ye lay vp these my words in your heart and in your soule, and binde them for a signe vpon your hand, that they may be as a frontlet betweene your eyes,
19 Enséñenlas a sus hijos y hablen de ellas cuando estén en casa y al viajar, cuando se acuesten y cuando se levanten.
And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them, whe thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest downe, and when thou risest vp.
20 Escríbanlas en los postes de sus casas y en sus puertas,
And thou shalt write them vpon the postes of thine house, and vpon thy gates,
21 para que mientras dure la tierra, ustedes y sus hijos tengan una larga vida en el país que el Señor prometió a sus antepasados.
That your daies may be multiplied, and the daies of your children, in ye land which the Lord sware vnto your fathers to giue them, as long as the heauens are aboue the earth.
22 Si se cuidan de cumplir todos estos mandamientos que les doy para seguir, si aman al Señor su Dios y siguen todos sus caminos, y se aferran a él,
For if ye keepe diligently all these commandements, which I command you to doe: that is, to loue the Lord your God, to walke in all his waies, and to cleaue vnto him,
23 entonces el Señor expulsará a todas estas naciones que están delante de ustedes, y se apoderan del país de las naciones que son más grandes y más fuertes que ustedes.
Then will the Lord cast out all these nations before you, and ye shall possesse great nations and mightier then you.
24 Todos los lugares por los que camines te pertenecerán. Su territorio se extenderá desde el desierto hasta el Líbano, y desde el río Éufrates hasta el mar Mediterráneo.
All the places whereon the soles of your feete shall tread, shalbe yours: your coast shalbe from the wildernes and from Lebanon, and from the Riuer, euen the riuer Perath, vnto ye vttermost Sea.
25 Nadie podrá resistirte; el Señor tu Dios hará que todos los que viven allí te teman absolutamente, dondequiera que vayas, tal como te prometió.
No man shall stande against you: for the Lord your God shall cast the feare and dread of you vpon all the land that ye shall treade vpon, as he hath said vnto you.
26 ¡Miren! Hoy pongo ante ustedes una bendición y una maldición.
Beholde, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse:
27 Recibirán una bendición si obedecen los mandamientos del Señor su Dios que les doy hoy.
The blessing, if ye obey the commandements of the Lord your God which I command you this day:
28 Pero recibirán una maldición si desobedecen los mandamientos del Señor su Dios y no siguen el camino que te ordeno hoy, y adoran a otros dioses desconocidos.
And ye curse, if ye wil not obey the commandements of the Lord your God, but turne out of the way, which I commande you this day, to go after other gods, which ye haue not knowen.
29 Cuando el Señor su Dios los lleve al país donde habitarán, anuncien la bendición en el Monte Gerizim y la maldición en el Monte Ebal.
When the Lord thy God therefore hath brought thee into ye lande, whither thou goest to possesse it, then thou shalt put the blessing vpon mount Gerizim, and the curse vpon mount Ebal.
30 (Estas montañas están al oeste del Jordán, en el país de los cananeos que viven en el Arabá cerca de Gilgal, junto a los robles de Moreh).
Are they not beyond Iorden on that part, where the sunne goeth downe in the land of the Canaanites, which dwel in the plaine ouer against Gilgal, beside the groue of Moreh?
31 Pronto cruzarán el Jordán para entrar y ocupar el país que el Señor su Dios les da. Cuando lo tomen y se establezcan allí,
For yee shall passe ouer Iorden, to goe in to possesse the land, which ye Lord your God giueth you, and ye shall possesse it, and dwell therein.
32 asegúrense de seguir todas las reglas y preceptos que hoy les estoy dando.
Take heede therefore that ye doe all the commandements and the lawes, which I set before you this day.
