Hechos 8
1 Saulo estaba de acuerdo con que era necesario matar a Esteban. Ese mismo día se inició una terrible persecución contra la iglesia en Jerusalén, y todos, excepto los apóstoles, se dispersaron por toda Judea y Samaria.
Saul had pleasure in his deeth. And at yt tyme there was a great persecucion agaynst the congregacion which was at Ierusalem and they were all scattered abroade thorowout the regions of Iury and Samaria except the Apostles
2 (Algunos seguidores fieles de Dios sepultaron a Esteban, con gran lamento).
Then devout men dressed Steven aud made great lamentacion over him.
3 Pero Saulo comenzó a destruir a la iglesia, yendo de casa en casa, sacando a hombres y mujeres de ellas y arrastrándolos hasta la prisión.
But Saul made havocke of the congregacion entrynge into every housse and drewe out bothe man and woman and thrust the into preson.
4 Los que se habían dispersado predicaban la palabra dondequiera que iban.
They that were scattered abroade went every where preachyng the worde.
5 Felipe fue a la ciudad de Samaria, y les habló acerca del Mesías.
Then came Philip into a cite of Samaria and preached Christ vnto them.
6 Cuando las multitudes oyeron lo que Felipe decía y vieron los milagros que hacía, prestaron atención a lo que les estaba diciendo.
And the people gave hede vnto those thinges which Philip spake with one acorde in that they hearde and sawe the miracles which he dyd.
7 Y muchos fueron liberados de posesión de espíritus malignos que gritaban al salir, y muchos que estaban cojos o discapacitados fueron sanados.
For vnclene spretes cryinge with loude voyce came out of many that were possessed of them. And manye taken with palsies and many yt halted were healed
8 La gente que vivía en la ciudad estaba feliz en gran manera.
And ther was great ioye in that cite.
9 Había, pues, un hombre llamado Simón, que vivía en la ciudad donde se solía practicar la hechicería. Él afirmaba ser muy importante, y había asombrado al pueblo de Samaria,
And ther was a certayne man called Simon which before tyme in the same cite vsed witche crafte and bewitched the people of Samarie sayinge that he was a man yt coulde do greate thinges
10 de modo que todos le prestaban atención. Desde la persona más pequeña hasta la más grande en la sociedad decían: “Este hombre es ‘El Gran Poder de Dios’”.
Whom they regarded from ye lest to the greatest sayinge: this felow is the great power of God.
11 Y estaban impresionados de él porque los había asombrado con su magia por mucho tiempo.
And him they set moche by because of longe tyme with sorcery he had mocked the.
12 Pero cuando creyeron en lo que Felipe les dijo acerca de la buena nueva sobre el reino de Dios y el nombre de Jesucristo, hombres y mujeres se bautizaron.
But assone as they beleved Philippes preachynge of the kyngdome of God and of the name of Iesu Christ they were baptised bothe men and wemen.
13 Y Simón también creyó y fue bautizado. Y acompañó a Felipe, sorprendido por las señales milagrosas y las maravillas que veía.
Then Simon him selfe beleved also and was baptised and cotinued with Phillip and wondered beholdynge the miracles and signes which were shewed.
14 Cuando los apóstoles estuvieron de regreso en Jerusalén y oyeron que la gente de Samaria había aceptado la palabra de Dios, enviaron a Pedro y a Juan a visitarlos.
When ye Apostles which were at Ierusalem hearde saye that Samaria had receaved ye worde of God: they sent vnto the Peter and Iohn
15 Y cuando llegaron, oraron por los conversos de Samaria para que recibieran el Espíritu Santo.
which when they were come prayed for the that they myght receave ye holy goost
16 Este no había sido derramado sobre ninguno de estos conversos aun, pues solamente habían sido bautizados en el nombre del Señor Jesús.
For as yet he was come on none of them: But they were baptised only in the name of Christ Iesu.
17 Así que los apóstoles pusieron sus manos sobre ellos, y recibieron el Espíritu Santo.
Then layde they their hondes on them and they receaved the holy goost.
18 Cuando Simón vio que el Espíritu Santo era recibido por las personas cuando los apóstoles colocaban sus manos sobre ellas, les ofreció dinero.
When Simo sawe that thorowe layinge on of the Apostles hondes on them the holy goost was geven: he offered the money
19 “Dénme este poder también”, les pidió, “para que cualquiera sobre el cual yo coloque mis manos, reciba el Espíritu Santo”.
sayinge: Geve me also this power that on whom soever I put the hondes he maye receave the holy goost.
20 “Ojalá tu dinero sea destruido contigo, por pensar que el don de Dios puede comprarse!” respondió Pedro.
Then sayde Peter vnto him: thy monye perysh with the because thou wenest that the gifte of God maye be obteyned wt money.
21 “Tú no eres parte de esto. No tienes parte en esta obra, porque ante los ojos de Dios tu actitud está completamente equivocada.
Thou hast nether parte nor felloushippe in this busines. For thy hert is not ryght in the syght of God.
22 ¡Arrepiéntete de tu mal camino! Ora al Señor y pídele perdón por pensar de esta manera.
Repent therfore of this thy wickednes and praye God that ye thought of thyne hert maye be forgeven the.
23 Puedo ver que estás lleno de una amarga envidia, y estás encadenado por tu propio pecado”.
For I perceave that thou arte full of bitter gall and wrapped in iniquite.
24 “¡Por favor, ora por mí para que no me ocurra nada de lo que has dicho!” respondió Simón.
Then answered Simon and sayde: Praye ye to the lorde for me yt none of these thinges whiche ye have spoken fall on me.
25 Después de haber dado su testimonio y de haber predicado la palabra de Dios, regresaron a Jerusalén, compartiendo la buena nueva en muchas aldeas de Samaria a lo largo del camino.
And they whe they had testified and preached the worde of the lorde returned toward Ierusalem and preached the gospell in many cities of the Samaritas.
26 Y un ángel del Señor le dijo a Felipe: “Alístense y vayan al sur, al camino desierto que lleva de Jerusalén a Gaza”.
Then the angell of the lorde spake vnto Phillip sayinge: aryse and goo towardes mydde daye vnto ye waye yt goeth doune fro Ierusalem vnto Gaza which is in ye desert.
27 Entonces Felipe emprendió el viaje y se encontró con un hombre etíope, un eunuco que tenía una posición importante en el servicio de Candace, reina de Etiopía. Este eunuco era el tesorero jefe. Había ido a Jerusalén para adorar,
And he arose and wet on. And beholde a man of Ethiopia which was a chaberlayne and of grete auctorite wt Cadace quene of ye Ethiopias and had ye rule of all her treasure came to Ierusalem for to praye.
28 y venía de regreso de su viaje, sentado en su carruaje. Estaba leyendo en voz alta una parte del libro de Isaías.
And as he returned home agayne sittynge in his charet he rede Esay ye prophet
29 Entonces el Espíritu le dijo a Felipe: “Ve y acércate más a ese carruaje”.
Then ye sprete sayde vnto Phillip: Goo neare and ioyne thy selfe to yonder charet.
30 Y Felipe corrió hacia allá, y escuchó al hombre que leía un texto del profeta Isaías. “¿Entiendes lo que estás leyendo?” le preguntó Felipe.
And Philip ranne to him and hearde him rede ye prophet Esayas and sayde: Vnderstondest thou what thou redest?
31 “¿Cómo podría entender, si no hay quien me explique?” respondió el hombre. Entonces invitó a Felipe a subirse al carruaje y sentarse junto a él.
And he sayd: how can I except I had a gyde? And he desyred Philip that he wold come vp and sit wt him.
32 Y el texto de la Escritura que estaba leyendo era este: “Como oveja, fue llevado al matadero; y como cordero que enmudece ante su trasquilador, ni siquiera abrió su boca.
The tenoure of ye scripture which he redde was this. He was ledde as a shepe to be slayne: and lyke a lambe dome before his sherer so opened he not his mouth.
33 Lo humillaron y no le hicieron justicia. ¿Quién describirá su descendencia? Porque su vida fue arrancada de la tierra”.
Because of his humblenes he was not estemed: who shall declare his generacio? for his lyfe is taken fro the erthe.
34 Entonces el eunuco le preguntó a Felipe: “Dime, ¿de quién está hablando este profeta? ¿Es acaso de sí mismo, o de otra persona?”
The chamberlayne answered Philip and sayde: I praye the of whom speaketh the Prophet this? of him selfe or of some other man?
35 Entonces Felipe comenzó a explicarle, partiendo de este texto, y hablándole de Jesús.
And Philip opened his mouth and beganne at ye same scripture and preached vnto him Iesus.
36 A medida que continuaban el camino, llegaron a un lugar donde había agua. Entonces el eunuco dijo: “Mira, aquí hay agua, ¿por qué no me bautizas?”
And as they went on their waye they came vnto a certayne water and the chamberlayne sayde: Se here is water what shall let me to be baptised?
Philip sayde vnto him: Yf thou beleve with all thyne hert thou mayst. He answered and sayde: I beleve that Iesus Christe is the sonne of God.
38 Entonces dio la orden para que detuvieran el carruaje. Y Felipe y el eunuco descendieron juntos al agua y Felipe lo bautizó.
And he comaunded the charet to stonde still. And they went doune bothe into the water: bothe Philip and also the chamberlayne and he baptised him.
39 Cuando salieron del agua, el Espíritu del Señor se llevó a Felipe. Y el eunuco no lo vio más, pero siguió su camino con alegría. Felipe se encontró entonces en Azoto.
And assone as they were come out of the water the sprete of the lorde caught awaye Philip yt the chamberlayne sawe him no moore. And he wet on his waye reioysinge:
40 Y allí predicaba la buena nueva en todas las ciudades por las que pasaba, hasta que llegó a Cesarea.
but Philip was founde at Azotus. And he walked thorow out ye countre preachynge in their cities tyll he came to Cesarea.
