Hechos 14
1 En Iconio ocurrió lo mismo: Pablo y Bernabé fueron a la sinagoga judía y hablaron con tanta seguridad que muchos adoradores, tanto de habla griega como judíos, creyeron en Jesús.
And it came to passe in Iconium, that they went both together into the Synagogue of the Iewes, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Iewes and of the Grecians beleeued.
2 Pero los judíos que se negaron a creer en Jesús provocaron sentimientos negativos en los extranjeros, y difamaban de los creyentes delante de ellos.
And the vnbeleeuing Iewes stirred vp, and corrupted the mindes of the Gentiles against the brethren.
3 Pero Pablo y Bernabé permanecieron allí por mucho tiempo, hablando audazmente en el Señor, quien confirmaba su mensaje de gracia mediante señales milagrosas que ellos podían realizar.
So therefore they abode there a long time, and spake boldly in the Lord, which gaue testimonie vnto the woord of his grace, and caused signes and woders to be done by their hands.
4 Los habitantes de la ciudad estaban divididos, pues algunos apoyaban a los judíos y otros a los apóstoles.
But the multitude of the city was deuided: and some were with the Iewes, and some with the Apostles.
5 Pero entonces los extranjeros y los judíos, junto a sus líderes, decidieron atacar con piedras a Pablo y a Bernabé.
And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and of the Iewes with their rulers, to doe them violence, and to stone them,
6 Sin embargo, ellos supieron sobre este plan y huyeron a la región de Licaonia, a las ciudades de Listra y Derbe,
They were ware of it, and fled vnto Lystra, and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and vnto the region round about,
7 y allí siguieron compartiendo la buena noticia.
And there preached the Gospel.
8 En la ciudad de Listra había un hombre paralítico, que tenía lisiados los dos pies. Había nacido en esta condición y nunca había podido caminar.
Nowe there sate a certaine man at Lystra, impotent in his feete, which was a creeple from his mothers wombe, who had neuer walked.
9 Entonces este hombre se sentó allí para escuchar a Pablo predicar. Y cuando Pablo lo miró directamente a él y se dio cuenta de que este hombre estaba creyendo en el Señor para ser sanado,
He heard Paul speake: who beholding him, and perceiuing that he had faith to be healed,
10 dijo en voz alta: “¡Levántate y ponte de pie!” Y este hombre de un salto se puso en pie y comenzó a caminar.
Said with a loude voyce, Stand vpright on thy feete. And he leaped vp, and walked.
11 Y cuando la multitud vio lo que Pablo había hecho, gritaron en el idioma de Licaonia, “¡Los dioses han descendido hasta nosotros en forma de humanos!”
Then when the people sawe what Paul had done, they lift vp their voyces, saying in ye speach of Lycaonia, Gods are come downe to vs in the likenesse of men.
12 Entonces identificaron a Bernabé como el dios griego Zeusy a Pablo como el dios Hermes, porque él era el que predicaba la mayor parte del tiempo.
And they called Barnabas, Iupiter: and Paul, Mercurius, because hee was the chiefe speaker.
13 Entonces los sacerdotes del templo de Zeus que está justo a las fueras de la ciudad, trajeron bueyes y guirnaldas a las puertas de la ciudad. Planeaban hacer un sacrificio frente a la multitud.
Then Iupiters priest, which was before their citie, brought bulles with garlands vnto the gates, and would haue sacrificed with the people.
14 Pero cuando los apóstoles Bernabé y Pablo se enteraron de lo que estaba sucediendo, rasgaron su ropa, y corrieron hasta la multitud, gritando:
But when the Apostles, Barnabas and Paul heard it, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying,
15 “Señores, ¿qué hacen? Nosotros somos seres humanos con la misma naturaleza de ustedes. Vinimos a traerles buenas noticias para que ustedes abandonen estas cosas inútiles y se vuelvan a un Dios que realmente está vivo. Él es quien hizo el cielo, la tierra, el mar y todo lo que hay en ellos.
And saying, O men, why doe yee these things? We are euen men subiect to the like passions that yee be, and preache vnto you, that yee shoulde turne from these vaine things vnto the liuing God, which made heauen and earth, and the sea, and all things that in them are:
16 En tiempos pasados, él dejó que las naciones siguieran sus propios caminos.
Who in times past suffered all the Gentiles to walke in their owne waies.
17 Pero aun así demostró quién era al hacer el bien, enviándoles lluvia del cielo y cosechas a su tiempo, dándoles todo lo que necesitaban, y llenando sus corazones de alegría”.
Neuerthelesse, hee left not him selfe without witnes, in that hee did good and gaue vs raine from heauen, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with foode, and gladnesse.
18 Con estas palabras apenas lograron detener a las multitudes para que no les ofrecieran sacrificios.
And speaking these things, scarce appeased they the multitude, that they had not sacrificed vnto them.
19 Pero entonces ciertos judíos de Antioquía e Iconio llegaron y se ganaron la simpatía de la multitud. Y apedrearon a Pablo, y lo arrastraron hasta las afueras de la ciudad, pensando que estaba muerto.
Then there came certaine Iewes from Antiochia and Iconium, which when they had persuaded the people, stoned Paul, and drewe him out of the citie, supposing he had bene dead.
20 Pero cuando los creyentes se reunieron a su alrededor, Pablo se levantó, y regresó a la ciudad. Al día siguiente, Pablo y Bernabé partieron a Derbe.
Howbeit, as the disciples stoode rounde about him, hee arose vp, and came into the citie, and the next day hee departed with Barnabas to Derbe.
21 Y después de predicar la buena noticia con las personas de esa ciudad, y después de que muchos se convirtieran en creyentes, regresaron a Listra, Iconio y Antioquía.
And after they had preached the glad tidings of the Gospel to that citie, and had taught many, they returned to Lystra, and to Iconium, and to Antiochia,
22 Entonces animaron a los creyentes a mantenerse firmes y a seguir creyendo en Jesús. “Tenemos que pasar por muchas pruebas para entrar al reino de Dios”, decían.
Confirming the disciples hearts, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, affirming that we must through many afflictions enter into the kingdome of God.
23 Después de haber escogido ancianos para cada iglesia, y de haber orado y ayunado con ellos, Pablo y Bernabé los encomendaron al Señor, Aquél en quien creían.
And when they had ordeined them Elders by election in euery Church, and prayed, and fasted, they commended them to the Lord in whome they beleeued.
24 Y pasaron por Pisidia, y llegaron a Panfilia.
Thus they went throughout Pisidia, and came to Pamphylia.
25 Predicaron la palabra de Dios en Perga, y siguieron hasta Atalía.
And when they had preached the woorde in Perga, they came downe to Attalia,
26 De allí navegaron de regreso hasta Antioquía donde habían comenzado, pues ahí habían sido dedicados en la gracia de Dios para la obra que ahora habían logrado.
And thence sailed to Antiochia, from whence they had bene comended vnto the grace of God, to the woorke, which they had fulfilled.
27 Y cuando llegaron, reunieron a toda la iglesia y les informaron todo lo que el Señor había hecho por medio de ellos y cómo había abierto las puertas para que los extranjeros creyeran en él.
And when they were come and had gathered the Church together, they rehearsed all the things that God had done by them, and howe he had opened the doore of faith vnto the Gentiles.
28 Y se quedaron allí con los creyentes por mucho tiempo.
So there they abode a long time with the disciples.
