2 Tesalonicenses 2
1 En cuanto a la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo y la manera como nos reuniremos con él, hermanos y hermanas,
As to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our being gathered to meet him, we beg you, friends,
2 por favor, no se inquieten ni se preocupen por ninguna revelación espiritual, o mensaje, o supuesta carta de parte de nosotros que les haga creer que el día del Señor ya ha llegado.
not lightly to let your minds become unsettled or disturbed by any revelation, or by any message or letter purporting to come from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord is come.
3 No permitan que ninguno los engañe de ninguna forma, porque la Rebelión debe venir primero, y el hombre de anarquía debe ser revelado. Aquél cuyo fin es la destrucción.
Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way. For it will not come before the final rebellion against God, when lawlessness is revealed in human form, headed for destruction.
4 Él es el enemigo de Dios, y con arrogancia se coloca por encima de todo lo que se llame Dios y reciba adoración. Incluso se instala en el Templo de Dios, y afirma que él es Dios.
He is the adversary of everything that is spoken of as a god or as an object of worship, enthroning himself in God”s Temple claiming to be God!
5 ¿No recuerdan que les dije todo esto cuando todavía estaba con ustedes?
Don’t you remember how, when I was with you, I used to speak to you of all this?
6 Ahora bien, ustedes saben qué lo mantiene bajo control, porque él será revelado como lo que es en su debido momento.
And you know now what the restraining influence is which prevents his appearing before his appointed time.
7 Pues los caminos secretos de esta anarquía ya están obrando; sin embargo, el que detiene esta anarquía seguirá haciéndolo hasta que se quite de en medio.
Wickedness, indeed, is already at work in secret, but only until he who at present restrains it is removed out of the way.
8 Entonces el hombre de anarquía será revelado, ese a quien el Señor Jesús destruirá, arrasando con él, aniquilándolo con el resplandor de su venida.
Then the lawless person will be revealed, but the Lord Jesus will destroy him with the breath of his mouth, annihilate him by the splendour of his coming.
9 Él (el hombre de anarquía) viene a hacer la obra de Satanás, y tendrá todo tipo de poderes, usará milagros, y llevará a cabo sorprendentes pero engañosas manifestaciones.
When the lawless person comes, there will be great activity on the part of Satan, in the form of all kinds of deceptive miracles, signs, and marvels, as well as of wicked attempts to delude –
10 Usando todo tipo de trucos malvados engaña a aquellos que van camino a la destrucción, porque se negaron a amar la verdad y ser salvos.
to the ruin of those who are on the path to destruction, because they have never received and loved the truth to their own salvation.
11 Por esto Dios les envía un engaño que los convencerá a fin de que crean en la mentira.
That is why God places them under the influence of a delusion, to cause them to believe a lie;
12 Como resultado, todos los que no creyeron en la verdad serán condenados, pues prefirieron el mal.
so that sentence may be passed on all those who refuse to believe the truth, but delight in wickedness.
13 Pero nosotros no tenemos más que agradecer a Dios por ustedes, hermanos y hermanas amados por el Señor, porque Dios los escogió desde el principio para ser salvos mediante el Espíritu que los justifica al creer en la verdad.
But, friends, whom the Lord loves, it is our duty always to thank God about you, for, from the first, God chose you for salvation through the purifying influence of the Spirit, and your belief in the truth.
14 A esto los llamó Dios por medio de la buena nueva que compartimos con ustedes, para que pudieran ser partícipes de la gloria de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
To this you were called by the good news which we brought you, to attain to the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 Así que, hermanos y hermanas, permanezcan firmes, y aférrense a lo que han aprendido, ya sea por lo que han oído, o por medio de cartas nuestras.
Stand firm then, friends, and hold fast to the truths that we taught you, whether by word or by letter.
16 Quiera nuestro Señor Jesucristo mismo y Dios el Padre (quien por medio de su gracia nos dio seguridad eterna y fiel esperanza), (aiōnios g166)
And may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and, in his loving kindness, gave us unfailing consolation and good ground for hope, (aiōnios g166)
17 animarlos y fortalecerlos para que puedan decir y hacer todo lo que es bueno.
console your hearts, and strengthen you to do and to say all that is right.
