2 Samuel 8
1 Poco después de esto, David atacó y subyugó a los filisteos, quitándoles Metheg-ammah.

And Dauid smoot Moab, and mat hem with a coorde, and made euene to the erthe; forsothe `he mat twey cordis, oon to sle, and oon to quikene. And Moab seruyde Dauid vndur tribute.
3 David también derrotó a Hadad-ezer, hijo de Rehob, rey de Soba, cuando intentaba imponer su control a lo largo del río Éufrates.
And Dauid smoot Adadezer, sone of Roob, kyng of Soba, whanne he yede forth to be lord ouer the flood Eufrates.
4 David capturó 1.000 de sus carros, 7.000 jinetes y 20.000 soldados de a pie. Ató por las patas a todos los caballos que llevaban carros, pero dejó suficientes caballos para 100 carros de guerra.
And whanne a thousynde and seuene hundrid kniytis of his part weren takun, and twenti thousynde of foot men, Dauid hoxide alle `drawynge beestis in charis; but Dauid lefte of tho an hundrid charis, that is, the horsis of an hundrid charis.
5 Cuando los arameos de Damasco vinieron a ayudar al rey Hadad-ezer de Soba, David mató a veintidós mil de ellos.
Also Sirie of Damask cam, that it schulde bere help to Adadezer, kyng of Soba; and Dauid smoot of Sirie two and twenti thousynde of men.
6 Colocó guarniciones en el reino arameo con capital en Damasco, e hizo que los arameos se sometieran a él y les exigió el pago de impuestos. El Señor le daba victorias a David por donde quiera que iba.
And Dauid settide strengthe in Sirie of Damask, and Sirie was maad seruynge Dauid vndur tribute. And the Lord kepte Dauid in alle thingis, to what euer thingis he yede forth.
7 David tomó los escudos de oro que le pertenecían a los oficiales de Hadad-ezer y los llevó a Jerusalén.
And Dauid took goldun armeris and bies, whiche the seruauntis of Adadezer hadden, and he brouyte tho in to Jerusalem.
8 El rey David también tomó una gran cantidad de bronce de Beta y Berotai, ciudades que habían pertenecido a Hadad-ezer.
And of Bethe, and of Beroth, citees of Adadezer, Dauith the kyng took ful myche metal; `of the whiche Salomon made alle the brasen vessels in the temple, and the brasen see, and the pilers, and the auter.
9 Cuando Toi, rey de Hamat, se enteró de que David había destruido todo el ejército de Hadadzer, rey de Soba,
Forsothe Thou, kyng of Emath, herde that Dauid hadde smyte al the strengthe of Adadezer.
10 envió a su hijo Joram a David para que se hiciera amigo de él y lo felicitara por su victoria en la batalla contra Hadad-ezer. Toi y Hadadezer habían estado en guerra con frecuencia. Joram trajo toda clase de regalos de oro, plata y bronce.
And Thou sente Joram, his sone, to `kyng Dauid, that he schulde grete hym, and thanke, and do thankyngis, for he hadde ouercome Adadezer, and hadde smyte hym; for Thou was enemy to Adadeser; and vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of bras weren in his hond.
11 El rey David le dedicó estos regalos al Señor, junto con la plata y el oro que había tomado de todas las naciones que había sometido:
And the same vessels kyng Dauid halewid `to the Lord, with the siluer and gold, whiche he hadde halewid of alle hethene men, whiche `hethene men he made suget of Sirye,
12 Edom, Moab, los amonitas, los filisteos y los amalecitas; así como el botín tomado a Hadad-ezer, hijo de Rehob, rey de Soba.
and Moab, and the sones of Amon, and Filisteis, and Amalech, and of the spuylis of Adadezer, sone of Roob, kyng of Soba.
13 David también se dio a conocer cuando regresó tras derrotar a dieciocho mil edomitas en el Valle de la Sal.
Also Dauid made to hym a name, whanne he turnede ayen, whanne Sirie was takun, for eiytene thousynde weren slayn in the valey, where salt is maad, and in Gebelem, to thre and twenti thousynde.
14 Colocó guarniciones por todo Edom, y todos los edomitas se sometieron a David. El Señor le dio a David victorias dondequiera que fuera.
And he settide keperis in Ydumee, and ordeinede strong hold, and al Ydumee was maad seruynge to Dauid; and the Lord kepte Dauid in alle thingis, to whateuer thingis he yede forth.
15 David gobernó sobre todo Israel. Hizo lo que era justo y correcto para todo su pueblo.
And Dauid regnede on al Israel, and Dauid dide doom, and riytfulnesse to al his puple.
16 Joab, hijo de Sarvia, era el comandante del ejército, y Josafat, hijo de Ahilud, llevaba los registros oficiales.

17 Sadoc, hijo de Ahitob, y Ahimelec, hijo de Abiatar, eran sacerdotes, mientras que Seraías era el secretario.
sone of Achitob, and Achymelech, sone of Abiathar, weren preestis; and Saraye was scryuyn.
18 Benaía, hijo de Joiada, estaba a cargo de los queretanos y peletanos; y los hijos de David eran sacerdotes.
