2 Corintios 5
1 Sabemos que cuando esta “tienda de campaña” terrenal en la que vivimos sea derribada, tenemos una casa preparada por Dios, no hecha por manos humanas. Es eterna, y está en el cielo. (aiōnios g166)
For we know that—if, our earthly tent-dwelling, should be taken down, we have, a building of God, a dwelling not made by hand, age-abiding in the heavens. (aiōnios g166)
2 Suspiramos en nuestro anhelo por esto, deseando con ansias ser vestidos de este nuevo hogar celestial.
And verily, in this, we sigh, earnestly desiring to clothe ourselves over, with our habitation which is of heaven, —
3 Cuando tengamos este vestido, ya no nos veremos desnudos.
Although, indeed, even clothing ourselves, we shall not be found, naked; —
4 Aunque estamos en esta “tienda” suspiramos, agobiados por esta vida. No deseamos tanto ser desvestidos de lo que nos ofrece esta vida, sino que ansiamos aquello con lo que seremos revestidos, para que lo mortal sea aplastado por la vida.
And verily, we who are in the tent, do sigh, being weighed down, while yet we are not wishing to unclothe ourselves, but to clothe ourselves over, —in order that, what is mortal, may be swallowed up, by life.
5 Dios mismo preparó todo esto para nosotros, y nos dio al Espíritu como garantía.
Now, he that hath wrought us for this very thing, is, God, —who hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit,
6 Por ello mantenemos la fe, sabiendo que aunque estamos en casa, con nuestros cuerpos físicos, estamos lejos del Señor.
Having good courage, therefore, at all times, and knowing that—remaining at home in the body, we are away from home from the Lord, —
7 (Pues vivimos por la fe en el Señor, y no por vista).
By faith, are we walking, not by sight; —
8 Como les digo, estamos seguros, deseando estar lejos del cuerpo para poder estar en casa con el Señor.
We have good courage, however, and are well pleased—rather to be away from home, out of the body, and to come home, unto the Lord.
9 Por eso nuestra meta, ya sea que estemos en nuestro cuerpo o no, es agradarle.
Wherefore also we are ambitious—whether at home, or away from home, to be, well-pleasing unto him.
10 Porque todos debemos comparecer ante el tribunal de Cristo. Y cada uno de nosotros recibirá lo que merece por lo que hayamos hecho en esta vida, ya sea bueno o malo.
For, we all, must needs be made manifest before the judgment seat of the Christ, that each one may get back the things done by means of the body, according to the things which he practised, whether good or corrupt.
11 Sabiendo lo que es el temor al Señor, tratamos de convencer a otros. Para Dios es claro lo que somos, y espero que esté claro en sus mentes también.
Knowing, then, the fear of the Lord, we persuade, men, but, unto God, are manifest, —I hope, moreover, even in your consciences, that we are manifest:
12 Una vez más, no intentamos hablar bien de nosotros mismos, sino que tratamos de darles a ustedes la oportunidad de que se sientan orgullosos de nosotros, a fin de que puedan responderle a los que se enorgullecen de lo exterior y no de lo interior.
Not again, ourselves, do we commend unto you, but as though an occasion we were giving unto you—something to boast of, in our behalf; that ye may have something suited unto them who, in appearance, are boasting, and not in heart.
13 Si estamos “locos” es por Dios. Si somos sensatos, es por ustedes.
For, whether we have been beside ourselves, it hath been for God, or, whether we are sober-minded, it is for you.
14 El amor de Cristo nos obliga, porque estamos completamente seguros de que él murió por todos y así todos murieron.
For, the love of the Christ, constraineth us; —
15 Cristo murió por todos para que ya no vivieran para sí mismos, sino para él, quien murió y resucitó para ellos.
Having judged this, —that, one, in behalf of all, died, hence, they all, died; and, in behalf of all, died he, —in order that, they who live, no longer for themselves, should live, but for him who, in their behalf, died and rose again.
16 De ahora en adelante ya no miramos a nadie desde el punto de vista humano. Aunque una vez vimos a Cristo de esta manera, ya no lo hacemos.
So that, we, henceforth, know, no one, after the flesh: if we have even been gaining, after the flesh, a knowledge of Christ,
17 Por eso todo el que está en Cristo es un nuevo ser. ¡Lo viejo ya se ha ido y ha llegado lo nuevo!
On the contrary, now, no longer, are we gaining it. So that, if any one is in Christ, there is a new creation! the old things, have passed away, —Lo! they have become new!
18 Dios lo hizo transformándonos de enemigos en amigos por medio de Cristo. Dios nos encomendó este mismo trabajo de convertir a sus enemigos en sus amigos.
The all things, moreover, are of God, —who hath reconciled us unto himself, through Christ, and hath given, unto us, the reconciling ministry: —
19 Porque Dios estaba en Cristo trayendo al mundo de regreso de la hostilidad a la amistad con él, sin contar sus pecados, y dándonos este mensaje para convertir a sus enemigos en sus amigos.
How that, God, was in Christ, reconciling, a world, unto himself, not reckoning, unto them, their offences, —and hath put, in us, the reconciling discourse.
20 De modo que somos embajadores de Cristo, como si él rogara por nosotros: “Por favor, vuelvan a él y sean sus amigos”
In behalf of Christ, therefore, are we ambassadors, —as if God were beseeching through us: we entreat, in behalf of Christ, —be reconciled unto God!
21 Dios hizo que Jesús, quien nunca pecó, experimentara las consecuencias del pecado para que nosotros pudiéramos tener un carácter recto, así como Dios es recto.
Him who knew not sin, in our behalf, he made to be, sin, that we might become God’s righteousness in him.
