2 Crónicas 9
1 La reina de Saba se enteró de la fama de Salomón y vino a Jerusalén para ponerle a prueba con preguntas difíciles. Trajo consigo un séquito muy numeroso, con camellos cargados de especias, grandes cantidades de oro y piedras preciosas. Se acercó a Salomón y le preguntó todo lo que tenía en mente.
And the queen of Sheba hath heard of the fame of Solomon, and cometh in to try Solomon with acute sayings, to Jerusalem, with a very great company, and camels bearing spices and gold in abundance, and precious stone; and she cometh in unto Solomon, and speaketh with him all that hath been with her heart,
2 Salomón respondió a todas sus preguntas. No había nada que no pudiera explicarle.
and Solomon declareth to her all her matters, and there hath not been hid a thing from Solomon that he hath not declared to her.
3 Cuando la reina de Saba vio la sabiduría de Salomón y el palacio que había construido,
And the queen of Sheba seeth the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he hath built,
4 la comida que había en la mesa, cómo vivían sus funcionarios, cómo funcionaban sus sirvientes y cómo estaban vestidos, las ropas de los camareros y los holocaustos que presentaba en el Templo del Señor, quedó tan asombrada que apenas podía respirar.
and the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the standing of his ministers, and their clothing, and his stewards, and their clothing, an his burnt-offering that he offered up in the house of Jehovah, and there hath not been any more spirit in her.
5 Le dijo al rey: “Es cierto lo que he oído en mi país sobre tus proverbios ¡y tu sabiduría!
And she saith unto the king, 'True [is] the word that I heard in my land concerning thy matters and concerning thy wisdom,
6 Pero no creí lo que me dijeron hasta que vine y lo vi con mis propios ojos. De hecho, no me contaron ni la mitad: ¡la extensión de tu sabiduría supera con creces lo que he oído!
and I have given no credence to their words, till that I have come, and mine eyes see, and lo, there hath not been declared to me the half of the abundance of thy wisdom — thou hast added unto the report that I heard.
7 ¡Qué feliz debe ser tu pueblo! ¡Qué felices los que trabajan para ti, los que están aquí cada día escuchando tu sabiduría!
'O the happiness of thy men, and the happiness of thy servants — these — who are standing before thee continually, and hearing thy wisdom.
8 Alabado sea el Señor, tu Dios, que tanto se complace en ti, que te puso en su trono como rey para gobernar en su nombre. Por el amor de tu Dios a Israel los ha asegurado para siempre, y te ha hecho rey sobre ellos para que hagas lo justo y lo correcto”.
Let Jehovah thy God be blessed who hath delighted in thee, to put thee on His throne for king for Jehovah thy God; in the love of thy God to Israel, to establish it to the age, He hath put thee over them for king, to do judgment and righteousness.'
9 Presentó al rey ciento veinte talentos de oro, enormes cantidades de especias y piedras preciosas. Nunca antes había habido especias como las que la reina de Saba regaló al rey Salomón.
And she giveth to the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in great abundance, and precious stone; and there hath not been any such spice as the queen of Sheba hath given to king Solomon.
10 (Hiram y los hombres de Salomón, que trajeron oro de Ofir, también trajeron madera de algum y piedras preciosas.
And also, servants of Huram, and servants of Solomon, who brought in gold from Ophir, have brought in algum-trees and precious stone.
11 El rey utilizó la madera de algum para hacer escalones para el Templo y para el palacio real, y en liras y arpas para los músicos. Nunca se había visto nada igual en el país de Judá).
And the king maketh the algum-trees staircases for the house of Jehovah, and for the house of the king, and harps and psalteries for singers; and there have been none seen like these before in the land of Judah.
12 El rey Salomón dio a la reina de Saba todo lo que quiso, todo lo que pidió. Esto era mucho más de lo que ella había traído al rey. Luego, ella y sus acompañantes regresaron a su país.
And king Solomon hath given to the queen of Sheba all her desire that she asked, apart from that which she had brought unto the king, and she turneth and goeth to her land, she and her servants.
13 El peso del oro que Salomón recibía cada año era de 666 talentos,
And the weight of the gold that is coming to Solomon in one year is six hundred and sixty and six talents of gold,
14 sin incluir el que recibía de los comerciantes y mercaderes. Todos los reyes de Arabia y los gobernadores del país también le llevaban oro y plata a Salomón.
apart from [what] the tourists, and the merchants, are bringing in; and all the kings of Arabia, and the governors of the land, are bringing in gold and silver to Solomon.
15 El rey Salomón hizo doscientos escudos de oro martillado. Cada escudo requería seiscientos siclos de oro martillado.
And king Solomon maketh two hundred targets of alloyed gold, six hundred [shekels] of alloyed gold he causeth to go up on the one target;
16 También hizo trescientos escudos pequeños de oro martillado. Cada uno de estos escudos requería trescientas monedas de oro. El rey los colocó en el Palacio del Bosque del Líbano.
and three hundred shields of alloyed gold, three hundred [shekels] of gold he causeth to go up on the one shield, and the king putteth them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.
17 El rey hizo también un gran trono de marfil y lo cubrió de oro puro.
And the king maketh a great throne of ivory, and overlayeth it with pure gold;
18 El trono tenía seis escalones, con un escabel de oro adosado. A ambos lados del asiento había reposabrazos, con leones de pie junto a los reposabrazos.
and six steps [are] to the throne, and a footstool of gold, to the throne they are fastened, and hands [are] on this [side] and on that on the place of the sitting, and two lions are standing near the hands,
19 En los seis escalones había doce leones, uno en cada extremo de cada escalón. Nunca se había hecho nada parecido para ningún reino.
and twelve lions are standing there on the six steps on this [side], and on that: it hath not been made so for any kingdom.
20 Todas las copas del rey Salomón eran de oro, y todos los utensilios del Palacio del Bosque del Líbano eran de oro puro. No se usó plata, porque no era valorada en los días de Salomón.
And all the drinking vessels of king Solomon [are] of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon [are] of refined gold — silver is not reckoned in the days of Solomon for anything;
21 El rey tenía una flota de barcos de Tarsis tripulada por marineros de Hiram. Una vez cada tres años los barcos de Tarsis llegaban con un cargamento de oro, plata, marfil, monos y pavos reales.
for ships of the king are going to Tarshish, with servants of Huram: once in three years come do the ships of Tarshish bearing gold, and silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks.
22 El rey Salomón era más grande que cualquier otro rey de la tierra en riqueza y sabiduría.
And king Solomon becometh greater than any of the kings of the earth for riches and wisdom;
23 Todos los reyes de la tierra querían conocer a Salomón para escuchar la sabiduría que Dios había puesto en su mente.
and all the kings of the earth are seeking the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom that God hath put in his heart,
24 Año tras año, todos los visitantes traían regalos: objetos de plata y oro, ropa, armas, especias, caballos y mulas.
and they are bringing in each his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, harness, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.
25 Salomón tenía cuatro mil establos para caballos y carros, y doce mil jinetes. Los mantuvo en las ciudades de los carros, y también con él en Jerusalén.
And there are to Solomon four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, and he placed them in cities of the chariot, and with the king in Jerusalem.
26 Dominó a todos los reyes desde el río Éufrates hasta el país de los filisteos y hasta la frontera con Egipto.
And he is ruling over all the kings from the River even unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt.
27 El rey hizo que en Jerusalén abundara la plata como las piedras, y la madera de cedro como los sicómoros en las estribaciones.
And the king maketh the silver in Jerusalem as stones, and the cedars he hath made as sycamores, that [are] in the low country, for abundance,
28 Los caballos de Salomón fueron importados de Egipto y de muchas otras tierras.
and they are bringing out horses from Egypt to Solomon, and from all the lands.
29 El resto de los hechos de Salomón, desde el principio hasta el final, están escritos en las Actas de Natán el Profeta, en la Profecía de Ahías el Silonita y en las Visiones de Iddo el Vidente acerca Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat.
And the rest of the matters of Solomon, the first and the last, are they not written beside the matters of Nathan the prophet, and beside the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and with the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam son of Nebat?
30 Salomón gobernó en Jerusalén sobre todo Israel durante cuarenta años.
And Solomon reigneth in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years,
31 Luego Salomón murió y fue enterrado en la ciudad de su padre David. Su hijo Roboam asumió como rey.
and Solomon lieth with his fathers, and they bury him in the city of David his father, and reign doth Rehoboam his son in his stead.
