2 Crónicas 24
1 Joás tenía siete años cuando llegó a ser rey, y reinó en Jerusalén durante cuarenta años. Su madre se llamaba Sibia de Beerseba.
[was] a son of Seven years Joash when became king he and forty year[s] he reigned in Jerusalem and [the] name of mother his [was] Zibiah from Beer Sheba.
2 Joás hizo lo que era correcto a los ojos del Señor durante la vida del sacerdote Joiada.
And he did Joash the right in [the] eyes of Yahweh all [the] days of Jehoiada the priest.
3 Joiada hizo que se casara con dos mujeres, y tuvo hijos e hijas.
And he took for him Jehoiada wives two and he fathered sons and daughters.
4 Tiempo después, Joás decidió reparar el Templo del Señor.
And it was after this it was with [the] heart of Joash to renew [the] house of Yahweh.
5 Convocó a los sacerdotes y a los levitas y les dijo: “Vayan a las ciudades de Judá y recojan las cuotas anuales de todos en Israel para reparar el Templo de su Dios. Háganlo de inmediato”. Pero los levitas no fueron de inmediato.
And he assembled the priests and the Levites and he said to them go out to [the] cities of Judah and collect from all Israel money to repair - [the] house of God your as often as a year in a year and you you will do quickly the matter and not they acted quickly the Levites.
6 Entonces el rey llamó al sumo sacerdote Joiada y le preguntó: “¿Por qué no has ordenado a los levitas que recauden de Judá y Jerusalén el impuesto que Moisés, siervo del Señor, y la asamblea de Israel impusieron para mantener la Tienda de la Ley?”
And he summoned the king Jehoiada the chief and he said to him why? not have you required on the Levites to bring from Judah and from Jerusalem [the] tax of Moses [the] servant of Yahweh and of the assembly of Israel to [the] tent of the testimony.
7 (Los partidarios de esa malvada mujer, Atalía, habían irrumpido en el Templo de Dios y habían robado los objetos sagrados del Templo del Señor y los habían utilizado para adorar a los baales).
For Athaliah the wickedness sons her they had broken into [the] house of God and also all [the] holy things of [the] house of Yahweh they had used for the Baals.
8 El rey ordenó que se hiciera un cofre para la colecta y que se colocara frente a la entrada del Templo del Señor.
And he said the king and they made a chest one and they put it at [the] gate of [the] house of Yahweh [the] outside towards.
9 Se proclamó un decreto en toda Judea y Jerusalén para traer al Señor el impuesto que Moisés, el siervo del Señor, impuso a Israel en el desierto.
And they made a proclamation in Judah and in Jerusalem to bring to Yahweh [the] tax of Moses [the] servant of God on Israel in the wilderness.
10 Todos los dirigentes y todo el pueblo se alegraron de hacerlo y trajeron sus impuestos. Los echaron en el cofre hasta que estuvo lleno.
And they were glad all the officials and all the people and they brought and they threw to the chest until finished.
11 De vez en cuando los levitas llevaban el cofre a los funcionarios del rey. Cuando veían que contenía una gran cantidad de dinero, el secretario del rey y el oficial principal del sumo sacerdote venían y vaciaban el cofre. Luego lo llevaban de vuelta a su lugar. Lo hacían todos los días y recogían una gran cantidad de dinero.
And it was at [the] time [when] someone brought the chest to [the] overseer of the king by [the] hand of the Levites and just as saw they that [was] much the money and he came [the] scribe of the king and [the] officer of [the] priest of the head so they may pour out the chest and they took it and they returned it to place its thus they did to a day - in a day and they gathered money to abundance.
12 Luego el rey y Joiada destinaban el dinero de los que supervisaban las obras del Templo del Señor a contratar canteros y carpinteros para restaurar el Templo del Señor y artesanos del hierro y del bronce para reparar el Templo del Señor.
And he gave it the king and Jehoiada to [the] doer of [the] work of [the] service of [the] house of Yahweh and they were hiring stone cutters and craftsmen to renew [the] house of Yahweh and also craftsmen of iron and bronze to repair [the] house of Yahweh.
13 Los hombres que hacían las reparaciones trabajaron duro y avanzaron mucho. Restauraron el Templo de Dios a su condición original y lo fortalecieron.
And they worked [the] doers of the work and it went up [the] repair for the work by hand their and they erected [the] house of God on measurement its and they strengthened it.
14 Cuando terminaron, devolvieron el dinero que quedaba al rey y a Joiada, y con él se hicieron utensilios para el Templo del Señor, tanto para los servicios de adoración como para los holocaustos, también copas para el incienso y recipientes de oro y plata. Los holocaustos se ofrecían regularmente en el Templo del Señor durante toda la vida de Joiada.
And just as had finished they they brought before the king and Jehoiada [the] remainder of the money and someone made it articles for [the] house of Yahweh articles of service and offering up and pans and articles of gold and silver and they were offering up burnt offerings in [the] house of Yahweh continually all [the] days of Jehoiada.
15 Joiada envejeció y murió a la edad de 130 años, habiendo vivido una vida plena.
And he became old Jehoiada and he was satisfied days and he died a son of one hundred and thirty year[s] at death his.
16 Fue enterrado con los reyes en la Ciudad de David, por todo el bien que había hecho en Israel por Dios y su Templo.
And people buried him in [the] city of David with the kings for he had done good in Israel and with God and house his.
17 Pero después de la muerte de Joiada, los líderes de Judá vinieron a jurar su lealtad al rey, y él escuchó sus consejos.
And after [the] death of Jehoiada they came [the] leaders of Judah and they bowed down to the king then he listened the king to them.
18 Abandonaron el Templo del Señor, el Dios de sus antepasados, y adoraron postes de Asera e ídolos. Judá y Jerusalén fueron castigados por su pecado.
And they abandoned [the] house of Yahweh [the] God of ancestors their and they served the Asherah poles and the idols and it was wrath towards Judah and Jerusalem in guilt their this.
19 El Señor envió a los profetas para que hicieran volver al pueblo a él y les advirtieran, pero ellos se negaron a escuchar.
And he sent among them prophets to bring back them to Yahweh and they warned them and not they gave ear.
20 Entonces el Espíritu de Dios vino a Zacarías, hijo del sacerdote Joiada. Se puso de pie ante el pueblo y les dijo: “Esto es lo que dice Dios: ‘¿Por qué quebrantan los mandamientos del Señor para no tener éxito? Siendo que han abandonado al Señor, él los ha abandonado a ustedes’”.
And [the] spirit of God it clothed Zechariah [the] son of Jehoiada the priest and he stood above the people and he said to them thus - he says God why? [are] you transgressing [the] commandments of Yahweh and not you will prosper for you have forsaken Yahweh and he has forsaken you.
21 Entonces los dirigentes tramaron un complot para matar a Zacarías, y por orden del rey lo apedrearon hasta la muerte en el patio del Templo del Señor.
And they conspired on him and they stoned him stone[s] by [the] command of the king in [the] courtyard of [the] house of Yahweh.
22 El rey Joás demostró que había olvidado la lealtad y el amor que le había demostrado Joiada, el padre de Zacarías, al matar a su hijo. Al morir, Zacarías gritó: “¡Que el Señor vea lo que has hecho y te lo pague!”.
And not he remembered Joash the king the loyalty which he had done Jehoiada father his with him and he killed son his and when dying he he said may he see Yahweh and may he require.
23 Al final del año, el ejército arameo vino a atacar a Joás. Invadieron Judá y Jerusalén y mataron a todos los líderes del pueblo, y enviaron todo su botín al rey de Damasco.
And it was - to [the] circuit of the year it came up on him [the] army of Aram and they came to Judah and Jerusalem and they destroyed all [the] leaders of the people from [the] people and all booty their they sent to [the] king of Damascus.
24 Aunque el ejército arameo había llegado con pocos hombres, el Señor les dio la victoria sobre un ejército muy numeroso, porque Judá había abandonado al Señor, el Dios de sus antepasados. De esta manera castigaron a Joás.
For with smallness of men they came - [the] army of Aram and Yahweh he gave in hand their an army for multitude exceedingly for they had forsaken Yahweh [the] God of ancestors their and with Joash they did judgment.
25 Cuando los arameos se fueron, dejaron a Joás malherido. Pero entonces sus propios oficiales conspiraron contra él por haber asesinado al hijo del sacerdote Joiada, y lo mataron en su lecho. Lo enterraron en la Ciudad de David, pero no en el cementerio de los reyes.
And when went they from him for they had left him (with sicknesses *Q(k)*) great they conspired on him own servants his in [the] blood of [the] sons of Jehoiada the priest and they killed him on bed his and he died and they buried him in [the] city of David and not they buried him in [the] graves of the kings.
26 Los que conspiraron contra él fueron Zabad, hijo de Simeat, una mujer amonita, y Jozabad, hijo de Simrit, una mujer moabita.
And these [are] the [ones who] conspired on him Zabad [the] son of Shimeath the Ammonite [woman] and Jehozabad [the] son of Shimrith the Moabite [woman].
27 La historia de los hijos de Joás, así como las numerosas profecías sobre él y sobre la restauración del Templo de Dios, se recogen en el Comentario al Libro de los Reyes. Posteriormente su hijo Amasías le sucedió como rey.
And sons his (it will be numerous of *Q(K)*) the oracle on him and [the] founding of [the] house of God there they [are] written on [the] record of [the] scroll of the kings and he became king Amaziah son his in place of him.
