1 Tesalonicenses 1

1 Esta carta viene de parte de Pablo, Silvano y Timoteo, a la iglesia de los Tesalonicenses que pertenecen a Dios el Padre y al Señor Jesucristo. Deseamos que tengan gracia y paz.

Paul, Silas, and Timothy: To the Church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. May grace and peace be granted to you.

2 Siempre le damos gracias a Dios por todos ustedes, y los recordamos en nuestras oraciones.

We continually give thanks to God because of you all, while we make mention of you in our prayers.

3 Recordamos delante de nuestro Dios y Padre la manera como ustedes practican la fe en él, y cómo trabajan arduamente con amor, y que con paciencia guardan la esperanza de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

For we never fail to remember your works of faith and labours of love and your persistent and unwavering hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our God and Father;

4 Hermanos y hermanas, ya sabemos que Dios los ama y que ustedes son muy especiales para él.

knowing as we do, brethren, that you are beloved by God and that He has chosen you.

5 La buena noticia que les llevamos no eran solo palabras, sino que estaba llena de poder también, pues el Espíritu Santo los convenció por completo. Del mismo modo, ustedes saben qué tipo de hombres somos, pues les demostramos que estábamos trabajando por el bien de ustedes.

The Good News that we brought you did not come to you in words only, but also with power and with the Holy Spirit and with much certainty, for you know the sort of men we became among you, as examples for your sakes.

6 Ustedes fueron imitadores de nosotros y de Dios cuando recibieron el mensaje, pues a pesar de sus problemas experimentaron el gozo que viene del Espíritu Santo.

And you followed the pattern set you by us and by the Master, after you had received the Message amid severe persecution, and yet with the joy which the Holy Spirit gives,

7 De modo que ustedes se han convertido en un ejemplo para todos los creyentes en Macedonia y Grecia.

so that you became a pattern to all the believers throughout Macedonia and Greece.

8 Porque ustedes han difundido el mensaje del Señor, no solo en Macedonia y Grecia, sino que en todas partes la gente ha oído de su fe en Dios, de modo que no necesitamos hablarle a nadie de ello.

For it was not only from you that the Master's Message sounded forth throughout Macedonia and Greece; but everywhere your faith in God has become known, so that it is unnecessary for us to say anything about it.

9 De hecho, todos hablan acerca del maravilloso recibimiento que ustedes nos dieron y cómo abandonaron los ídolos y se volvieron a Dios para servirle como al Dios viviente y verdadero,

For when others speak of us they report the reception we had from you, and how you turned from your idols to God, to be bondservants of the true and ever-living God,

10 mientras aguardan la venida de su Hijo, Jesús, al que Dios levantó de los muertos, y quien nos salvará del juicio que está por venir.

and to await the return from Heaven of His Son, whom He raised from among the dead--even Jesus, our Deliverer from God's coming anger.
