1 Crónicas 11
1 Entonces todos los israelitas se reunieron con David en Hebrón. Y le dijeron: “Somos tu carne y tu sangre.
Then did all Israel gather themselves unto David unto Hebron, saying Behold, thy bone and thy flesh are we.
2 En los últimos tiempos, aunque Saúl era el rey, tú eras el verdadero líder de Israel. El Señor, tu Dios, te ha dicho: ‘Tú serás el pastor de mi pueblo, y tú serás el jefe de mi pueblo Israel’”.
Already yesterday and even before, even when Saul was king, thou wast he that led out and brought in Israel; and the Lord, thy God, said unto thee, Thou shalt indeed feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be truly a chief over my people Israel.
3 Todos los ancianos de Israel acudieron ante el rey en Hebrón, y David hizo un acuerdo solemne con ellos ante el Señor. Allí ungieron a David como rey de Israel, tal como el Señor lo había prometido por medio de Samuel.
Thus came all the elders of Israel to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the Lord; and they anointed David as king over Israel, according to the word of the Lord through means of Samuel.
4 Entonces David y todos los israelitas fueron a Jerusalén (antes conocida como Jebús), donde vivían los jebuseos.
And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem, which is Jebus; and there were the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land.
5 Pero los jebuseos le dijeron a David: “No entrarás aquí”. Sin embargo, David capturó la fortaleza de Sión, ahora conocida como la Ciudad de David.
And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, Thou shalt not come in hither. Nevertheless David captured the strong-hold of Zion, the same is the City of David.
6 Y David había dicho: “El primero que ataque a los jebuseos será mi comandante en jefe”. Como Joab, hijo de Sarvia, fue el primero, se convirtió en el comandante en jefe.
And David said, Whosoever doth smite the Jebusites at first shall be head and chief. Then did Joab the son of Zeruyah go up at first, and became head-man.
7 David decidió habitar en la fortaleza, por eso la llamaron Ciudad de David.
And David dwelt in the castle: therefore they called it, “The City of David.”
8 Entonces construyó la ciudad a su alrededor, desde el Milo e hizo un circuito alrededor, mientras que Joab reparaba el resto de la ciudad.
And he built the city round about, even from the Millo as far as the surrounding district, and Joab repaired the rest of the city.
9 David se hizo cada vez más poderoso, porque el Señor Todopoderoso estaba con él.
And David want on, and became greater and greater, and the lord of hosts was with him.
10 Estos fueron los líderes de los poderosos guerreros de David que, junto con todos los israelitas, le dieron un fuerte apoyo para que se convirtiera en rey, tal como el Señor había prometido que sucedería con Israel.
These also are the principals of the mighty men whom David had, who held firmly with him in his kingdom, with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the Lord concerning Israel.
11 Esta es la lista de los principales guerreros que apoyaron a David: Jasobeam, hijo de Hacmoni, líder de los Tres. Con su lanza, una vez mató a 300 hombres en una sola batalla.
And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had: Jashoh'am, the son of Chachmoni, the chief of the captains, who lifted up his spear against three hundred slain at one time.
12 Después de él vino Eleazar, hijo de Dodo, descendiente de Ahoha, uno de los Tres guerreros principales.
And after him was El'asar the son of Dodo, the Achochite, who was one of the three mighty men.
13 Estaba con David en Pasdamin cuando los filisteos se reunieron para la batalla que tuvo lugar en un campo de cebada. El ejército israelita huyó cuando los filisteos atacaron,
He was with David at Pass-dammim, and the Philistines were gathered together there to battle, and there was a piece of ground full of barley; and the people had fled from before the Philistines.
14 pero David y Eleazar se apostaron en medio del campo, defendiendo su terreno y matando a los filisteos. El Señor los salvó dándoles una gran victoria.
And they placed themselves in the midst of that piece [of ground], and they delivered it, and smote the Philistines: and the Lord helped [them] with a great victory.
15 En otra ocasión, los Tres, que formaban parte de los Treinta guerreros principales, bajaron a recibir a David cuando estaba en la cueva de Adulam. El ejército filisteo estaba acampado en el valle de Refaim.
And these three, the chiefs of the thirty, went down to the rock to David, to the cave of 'Adullam; and the camp of the Philistines was pitched in the valley of Rephaim.
16 En ese momento David estaba en la fortaleza, y la guarnición filistea estaba en Belén.
And David was then in the strong-hold, and an outpost of the Philistines was then at Beth-lechem.
17 David tenía mucha sed y dijo: “¡Ojalá alguien pudiera traerme un trago de agua del pozo que está junto a la puerta de la entrada de Belén!”
And David longed, and said, Oh that some one would bring me water to drink out of the well of Beth-lechem, which is by the gate!
18 Los Tres atravesaron las defensas filisteas, tomaron un poco de agua del pozo de la puerta de Belén y se la llevaron a David. Pero David se negó a beberla y la vertió como ofrenda al Señor.
And the three broke through the camp of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Beth-lechem, which was by the gate, and carried it, and brought it to David; but David would not drink thereof, and poured it out unto the Lord.
19 “¡Dios me libre de hacer esto!”, dijo. “Sería como beber la sangre de esos hombres que arriesgaron sus vidas. Ellos arriesgaron sus vidas para traerme una bebida”. Así que no la bebió. Estas son algunas de las cosas que hicieron los tres guerreros principales.
And he said, Far be it from me, before my God, that I should do this: shall I drink the blood of these men that went at the risk of their lives? for at the risk of their lives did they bring it; and thus he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.
20 Abisai, hermano de Joab, era el líder de los segundos Tres. Usando su lanza, una vez mató a 300 hombres, y se hizo famoso entre los Tres.
And Abshai the brother of Joab was the chief of these three; and he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain, and had a name among the three.
21 Era el más apreciado de los Tres y era su comandante, aunque no fue uno de los primeros Tres.
Of the three, he was more honored than the two, wherefore he became their captain; he nevertheless attained not unto the three [in prowess].
22 Benaía, hijo de Joiada, un fuerte guerrero de Cabseel, hizo muchas cosas sorprendentes. Mató a dos hijos de Ariel de Moab. También fue tras un león a un pozo en la nieve y lo mató.
Banayah the son of Jehoyada', the son of a valiant man, great in many acts, of Kah-zeel: he it was that smote the two lion-like heroes of Moab; he also went down and smote a lion in the midst of a pit on a day when it snowed.
23 En otra ocasión mató a un egipcio, un hombre enorme que medía dos metros y medio. El egipcio tenía una lanza cuyo asta era tan gruesa como la vara de un tejedor. Benaía lo atacó sólo con un garrote, pero pudo agarrar la lanza de la mano del egipcio, y lo mató con su propia lanza.
And he smote an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits high; and in the Egyptian's hand was a spear like a weaver's beam; and he went down to him with a staff, and he snatched the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.
24 Este fue el tipo de cosas que hizo Benaía y que lo hicieron tan famoso como los tres guerreros principales.
These things did Benayah the son of Jehoyada'; and he had a name among the mighty men.
25 Era el más apreciado de los Treinta, aunque no era uno de los Tres. David lo puso a cargo de su guardia personal.
Behold, he was indeed more honored than the thirty; but he attained not to the first three. And David appointed him over his private council.
26 Otros guerreros principales eran: Asael, hermano de Joab; Elhanán, hijo de Dodo, de Belén;
And the mighty men of the armies were, 'Assahel the brother of Joab, Elchanan the son of Dodo of Beth-lechem.
27 Sama el harodita; Heles el pelonita;
Shammoth the Harorite, Chelez the Pelonite,
28 Ira, hijo de Iques, de Tecoa; Abiezer, de Anatot;
'Ira the son of 'Ikkesh the Theko'ite, Abi'ezer the 'Antothite,
29 Sibecai el husatita; Ilai el ahohita;
Sibbechai the Chushathite, 'Ilai the Achochite,
30 Maharai, de Netofa; Heled, hijo de Baana, de Netofa;
Maharai the Netophathite, Cheled the son of Ba'anah the Netophathite,
31 Itai, hijo de Ribai, de Guibeá, de los benjamitas; Benaía el Piratonita;
Ithai the son of Ribai of Gib'ah, of the children of 'Benjamin, Benayah the Pir'athonite.
32 Hurai de los valles de Gaas; Abiel de Arabá;
Churai of the Nachale-Ga'ash, Abiel the 'Arbathite,
33 Azmavet de Bahurim; Eliaba el Saalbonita;
'Azmaveth the Bacharumite, Elyachba the Sha'albonite,
34 Los hijos de Jasén el Gizonita; Jonatán, hijo de Sage el Ararita;
Bnai-hashem the Gizonite, Jonathan the son of Shage the Hararite.
35 Ahíam, hijo de Sacar el Ararita; Elifal, hijo de Ur;
Achiam the son of Sachar the Hararite, Eliphal the son of Ur,
36 Hefer de Mequer; Ahías el pelonita;
Chepher the Mecherathite, Achiyah the Pelonite.
37 Hezro el Carmelita; Naarai, hijo de Ezbai;
Chezro the Carmelite, Na'arai the son of Ezbai,
38 Joel, hermano de Natán; Mibhar, hijo de Hagri;
Joel the brother of Nathan, Mibchar the son of Hagri,
39 Zelek, el amonita; Naharai, de Beerot; el escudero de Joab, hijo de Sarvia;
Zelek the 'Ammonite, Nachrai the Berothite, the armor bearer of Joab the son of Zeruyah,
40 Ira, de Jatir; Gareb, de Jatir;
'Ira the Yithrite, Gareb the Yithrite,
41 Urías, el hitita; Zabad, hijo de Ahlai;
Uriyah the Hittite, Zabad the son of Achlai,
42 Adina, hijo de Siza, rubenita, jefe de los rubenitas, y los treinta que estaban con él;
'Adina the son of Shiza the Reubenite, a chief of the Reubenites, and with him were thirty [men].
43 Hanán, hijo de Maaca; Josafat mitnita;
Chanan the son of Ma'achah, and Joshaphat the Mithnite.
44 Uzías de Astarot; Sama y Jeiel, los hijos de Hotam de Aroer;
'Uzziya the 'Ashterathite, Shama' and Je'iel the sons of Chothan the 'Aro'erite,
45 Jediael, hijo de Simri, y su hermano, Joha el tizita;
Jedi'ael the son of Shimri, and Jocha his brother, the Thizite,
46 Eliel de Mahava; Jerebai y Josavía, los hijos de Elnaam; Itma el moabita;
Eliel the Machavite, and Jerihal, and Joshavyah, the son of Elna'am, and Yithmah the Moabite,
47 Eliel; Obed y Jaasiel, todos ellos de Soba.
Eliel, and 'Obed, and Ja'assiel the Mezobayite.
