Zacarías 1
1 En el mes octavo del año segundo de Darío llegó la palabra de Yahvé al profeta Zacarías, hijo de Baraquías, hijo de Iddó, diciendo:
In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, hath a word of Jehovah been unto Zechariah, son of Berechiah, son of Iddo, the prophet, saying:
2 “Yahvé se irritó con gran enojo contra vuestros padres.
'Jehovah was wroth against your fathers — wrath!
3 Diles: Así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: Convertíos a Mí, dice Yahvé de los ejércitos, y Yo me volveré a vosotros, dice Yahvé de los ejércitos.
And thou hast said unto them, Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, turn back unto Me, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts, And I turn back unto you, said Jehovah of Hosts.
4 No seáis como vuestros padres, a los que predicaron los profetas anteriores, diciendo: «Así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: Convertíos de vuestros malos caminos, de vuestras malas obras». Pero ellos no escucharon, ni me prestaron atención, dice Yahvé.
Ye shall not be as your fathers, To whom the former prophets called, saying: Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, Turn back I pray you, From your evil ways and from your evil doings, And they did not hearken, Nor attend to Me — an affirmation of Jehovah.
5 Vuestros padres ¿dónde están? y los profetas ¿viven acaso siempre?
Your fathers — where [are] they? And the prophets — to the age do they live?
6 Mis palabras, empero, y mis ordenanzas que intimé a mis siervos los profetas, ¿por ventura no alcanzaron a vuestros padres? Y ellos se convirtieron y dijeron: “Así como Yahvé de los ejércitos ha resuelto tratarnos en vista de nuestros caminos y nuestras obras, así ha hecho con nosotros.”
Only, My words, and My statutes, That I commanded My servants the prophets, Have they not overtaken your fathers, And they turn back and say: As Jehovah of Hosts designed to do to us, According to our ways, and according to our doings, So He hath done to us?'
7 El día veinticuatro del mes undécimo, que es el mes de Schebak, en el año segundo de Darío, llegó la palabra de Yahvé al profeta Zacarías, hijo de Baraquías, hijo de Iddó, de esta manera:
On the twenty and fourth day of the eleventh month, (it [is] the month of Sebat, ) in the second year of Darius, hath a word of Jehovah been unto Zechariah, son of Berechiah, son of Iddo, the prophet, saying:
8 “De noche vi a un hombre que cabalgaba en un caballo bermejo y estaba entre los mirtos que había en una hondonada; y detrás de él había caballos bermejos, alazanes y blancos.
I have seen by night, and lo, one riding on a red horse, and he is standing between the myrtles that [are] in the shade, and behind him [are] horses, red, bay, and white.
9 Yo pregunté: «¿Qué son estos, señor mío?» Y me contestó el ángel que hablaba conmigo: «Te mostraré lo que son estos».
And I say, 'What [are] these, my lord?' And the messenger who is speaking with me saith unto me, 'I — I do shew thee what these [are].'
10 Y tomó la palabra el hombre que estaba entre los mirtos, y dijo: «Estos son los que Yahvé ha enviado a recorrer la tierra».
And the one who is standing between the myrtles doth answer and say, 'These [are] they whom Jehovah hath sent to walk up and down in the land.'
11 Y respondieron ellos al ángel de Yahvé que estaba entre los mirtos, y dijeron: «Hemos recorrido la tierra, y he aquí que toda la tierra poblada goza de paz».
And they answer the messenger of Jehovah who is standing between the myrtles, and say, 'We have walked up and down in the land, and lo, all the land is sitting still, and at rest.'
12 Repuso el ángel de Yahvé y dijo: «¡Oh Yahvé de los ejércitos! ¿Hasta cuándo no vas a compadecerte de Jerusalén y de las ciudades de Judá, contra las cuales estás irritado? ¡Son ya setenta años!»
And the messenger of Jehovah answereth and saith, 'Jehovah of Hosts! till when dost Thou not pity Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, that Thou hast abhorred these seventy years?'
13 Y Yahvé respondió con palabras buenas, con palabras de consuelo al ángel que hablaba conmigo.
And Jehovah answereth the messenger, who is speaking with me, good words, comfortable words.
14 Y el ángel que hablaba conmigo me dijo: «Clama, y di: Así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: Estoy animado de celo por Jerusalén, y de muchísimo celo por Sión;
And the messenger who is speaking with me, saith unto me, 'Call, saying: Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: I have been zealous for Jerusalem, and for Zion [with] great zeal.
15 y estoy muy irritado contra las naciones que viven con sosiego; pues ellas, cuando Yo estaba un poco irritado, agravaron el mal (de mi pueblo).
And [with] great wrath I am wroth against the nations who are at ease, For I was a little wroth, and they assisted — for evil.
16 Por tanto, así dice Yahvé: Volveré mi rostro compasivo hacia Jerusalén; en ella será reedificada mi Casa, dice Yahvé de los ejércitos; y la cuerda será tendida sobre Jerusalén.
Therefore, thus said Jehovah: I have turned to Jerusalem with mercies, My house is built in it, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts, And a line is stretched over Jerusalem.
17 Clama otra vez, y di: Así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: Mis ciudades rebosarán todavía de bienes, aún consolará Yahvé a Sión, y escogerá de nuevo a Jerusalén».
Again call, saying: Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, Again do my cities overflow from good, And Jehovah hath again comforted Zion, And He hath fixed again on Jerusalem.'
18 Levanté los ojos, y miré, y vi cuatro cuernos.
And I lift up mine eyes, and look, and lo, four horns.
19 Pregunté al ángel que hablaba conmigo: «¿Qué son estos?» Me contestó: «Estos son los cuernos que han dispersado a Judá, a Israel y a Jerusalén.»
And I say unto the messenger who is speaking with me, 'What [are] these?' And he saith unto me, 'These [are] the horns that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.'
20 Luego me mostró Yahvé cuatro herreros.
And Jehovah doth shew me four artisans.
21 Y dije yo: «¿Qué vienen a hacer estos?» Él me respondió, diciendo: «Aquellos son los cuernos que han dispersado a Judá, de tal manera que nadie pudo ya alzar la cabeza, y estos han venido para aterrarlos, y para abatir los cuernos de los gentiles que alzaron su cuerno contra la tierra de Judá para dispersarla.»
And I say, 'What [are] these coming in to do?' And He speaketh, saying: 'These [are] the horns that have scattered Judah, so that no one hath lifted up his head, and these come in to trouble them, to cast down the horns of the nations who are lifting up a horn against the land of Judah — to scatter it.'
