Salmos 97

1 Reina Yahvé; alégrese la tierra, muestre su júbilo la multitud de las islas.

The Lord is king, let the earth rejoice: let her many isles be glad.

2 Nubes y oscura niebla le rodean, justicia e imperio son el fundamento de su trono.

Clouds and darkness are round about him, justice and right are the base of his throne.

3 Delante de Él va el fuego y abrasa en derredor a sus enemigos.

Fire goes before him, and blazes around his steps,

4 Sus relámpagos iluminan el orbe, la tierra lo ve, y tiembla.

his lightnings illumine the world: the earth quakes at the sight.

5 Los montes, como cera, se derriten ante Yahvé, ante el Dominador de toda la tierra.

Mountains melt like wax before the Lord of all the earth.

6 Los cielos proclaman su justicia, y todos los pueblos ven su gloria.

The heavens proclaim his justice, all nations behold his glory.

7 Confundidos quedan todos los que adoran simulacros, y los que se glorían en los ídolos. “¡Adoradlo, ángeles todos de Dios!”

Shamed are all image-worshippers, who make a boast of their idols. All the gods bow before him.

8 Lo oye Sión, y se llena de gozo; y las ciudades de Judá saltan de alegría, por tus juicios, oh Yahvé.

Zion is glad at the tidings, the towns of Judah rejoice because of your judgments, Lord.

9 Pues Tú eres, Yahvé, excelso sobre toda la tierra, eminentísimo sobre toda deidad.

For you are most high over all the earth, greatly exalted above all gods.

10 Yahvé ama a los que odian el mal; guarda las almas de sus santos, los arrebata de la mano de los impíos.

The Lord loves those who hate evil, he guards the lives of the faithful: from the hand of the wicked he saves them.

11 Ya despunta la luz para el justo, y la alegría para los de corazón recto.

Light arises for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart.

12 Oh justos, regocijaos en Yahvé y celebrad su santo Nombre.

Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous: give thanks to his holy name.
