Salmos 52

1 Al maestro de coro. Maskil de David. Cuando Doeg, el idumeo, fue a decir a Saúl: “David ha entrado en la casa de Aquimelec.” ¿Cómo haces alarde de maldad, oh prepotente, contra el justo? ¡En todo tiempo hay Dios!

For the Leader. Maschil of David; when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him: 'David is come to the house of Ahimelech.' Why boastest thou thyself of evil, O mighty man? The mercy of God endureth continually.

2 Tu lengua, maquinando ruinas, es como afilada navaja, oh artífice del dolo.

Thy tongue deviseth destruction; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

3 Prefieres el mal al bien y la falsedad al lenguaje sincero.

Thou lovest evil more than good; falsehood rather than speaking righteousness. (Selah)

4 Amas todas las palabras que hieren, lengua pérfida.

Thou lovest all devouring words, the deceitful tongue.

5 Por eso Dios te destruirá; te quitará de en medio para siempre; te arrojará de tu tienda y te arrancará de la tierra de los vivientes.

God will likewise break thee for ever, He will take thee up, and pluck thee out of thy tent, and root thee out of the land of the living. (Selah)

6 Al ver esto los justos temerán, y se reirán (diciendo):

The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:

7 “He aquí el hombre que no hizo de Dios su baluarte, sino que confió en la multitud de sus riquezas y llegó a ser poderoso por sus crímenes.”

'Lo, this is the man that made not God his stronghold; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.'

8 Mas yo, como olivo lozano en la casa de Dios, confío en la bondad divina para siempre.

But as for me, I am like a leafy olive-tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

9 Por los siglos te alabaré porque obraste, y proclamaré tu Nombre porque es bueno, a la vista de tus santos.

I will give Thee thanks for ever, because Thou hast done it; and I will wait for Thy name, for it is good, in the presence of Thy saints.
