Salmos 37
1 De David. No te acalores a causa de los malvados, ni envidies a los que cometen la iniquidad.
[By David.] Do not fret because of evildoers, neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness.
2 Porque muy pronto serán cortados, como el heno, y como hierba verde se secarán.
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither like the green herb.
3 Tú, espera en Yahvé y obra el bien; permanece en la tierra y cultiva la rectitud.
Trust in Jehovah, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Pon tus delicias en Yahvé, y Él te otorgará lo que tu corazón busca.
Also delight yourself in Jehovah, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Entrega a Yahvé tu camino; confíate a Él y déjale obrar.
Commit your way to Jehovah. Trust also in him, and he will act.
6 Él hará aparecer tu justicia como el día, y tu causa como la luz meridiana.
And he will make your righteousness go forth as the light, and your justice as the noonday.
7 Calla ante Yahvé y espera de Él; no te acalores a causa del que prospera en su camino, del hombre que obra torcidamente.
Rest in Jehovah, and wait patiently for him. Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked plots happen.
8 Depón el rencor y aplaca la ira, no te irrites: pues sería peor;
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath. Do not fret, it leads only to evildoing.
9 porque los que obran mal serán exterminados, mas los que esperan en Yahvé heredarán la tierra.
For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for Jehovah shall inherit the land.
10 Aguarda un poco, y el impío ya no estará; y si buscas su lugar, no lo hallarás.
For yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more. Yes, though you look for his place, he isn't there.
11 En tanto que los mansos poseerán la tierra, y se deleitarán en abundancia de paz.
But the humble shall inherit the land, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
12 El impío urde males contra el justo, y a su vista rechina los dientes;
The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth.
13 pero Yahvé se ríe de él, porque está viendo llegar su día.
Jehovah will laugh at him, for he sees that his day is coming.
14 Los perversos desenvainan la espada y tienden su arco, para derribar al afligido y al desvalido, y trucidar a los que son rectos.
The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to kill those who are upright in the way.
15 Pero la espada se les clavará en su propio corazón, y sus arcos se romperán.
Their sword shall enter into their own heart. Their bows shall be broken.
16 Más vale lo poco del justo que la gran opulencia de los pecadores;
Better is a little that the righteous has, than the abundance of many wicked.
17 porque serán quebrados los brazos de los impíos, en tanto que a los justos los sostiene Yahvé.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but Jehovah upholds the righteous.
18 Lleva cuenta Yahvé de los días de los justos, y su herencia será eterna.
Jehovah knows the days of the perfect. Their inheritance shall be forever.
19 No se verán confundidos en tiempo de calamidad, y en los días de hambre serán saciados.
They shall not be disappointed in the time of evil. In the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20 Mas los impíos perecerán; y los enemigos de Yahvé, los altivos ensoberbecidos en su corazón, se desvanecerán como el humo.
But the wicked shall perish. The enemies of Jehovah shall be like the burning of an oven. They will vanish—vanish like smoke.
21 El malvado toma en préstamo y no devuelve, mas el justo es compasivo y da;
The wicked borrow, and do not pay back, but the righteous give generously.
22 porque los benditos poseerán la tierra, pero los malditos serán exterminados.
For such as are blessed by him shall inherit the land. Those who are cursed by him shall be cut off.
23 Yahvé dirige los pasos del hombre, al que le agrada Él le afirma el camino.
The steps of a man are established by Jehovah, and he delights in his way.
24 Aunque resbalare, no caerá postrado, porque Yahvé lo sostiene con su mano.
Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for Jehovah holds him up with his hand.
25 Joven fui y ahora soy viejo, mas nunca he visto al justo desamparado, ni a sus hijos mendigando el pan.
I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread.
26 En todo tiempo es misericordioso y presta, y su estirpe es bendecida.
All day long he deals graciously and lends, and his offspring are a blessing.
27 Huye tu del mal y haz el bien, y habitarás por siempre.
Turn away from evil, and do good. Live securely forever.
28 Pues Yahvé ama la justicia, y no abandona a sus santos; los impíos serán exterminados, y su descendencia perecerá.
For Jehovah loves justice, and doesn't forsake his faithful ones. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 Los justos poseerán la tierra, y habitarán en ella para siempre.
The righteous shall inherit the land, and live in it forever.
30 La boca del justo profiere sabiduría, y su lengua habla con rectitud.
The mouth of the righteous talks of wisdom. His tongue speaks justice.
31 La Ley de su Dios está en su corazón, y sus pasos no vacilan.
The law of his God is in his heart. None of his steps shall slide.
32 El impío anda en acecho del justo, y busca cómo quitarle la vida;
The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to kill him.
33 pero Yahvé no lo deja en sus manos, ni permite que le condenen cuando es juzgado.
Jehovah will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
34 Cuenta con Yahvé y sigue su camino; Él te conducirá a la herencia de la tierra; asistirás gozoso al exterminio de los perversos.
Wait for Jehovah, and keep his way, and he will exalt you to inherit the land. When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.
35 Vi al impío sumamente empinado y expandiéndose, como un cedro del Líbano;
I have seen the wicked wielding great power, and towering like a cedar of Lebanon.
36 pasé de nuevo, y ya no estaba; lo busqué, y no fue encontrado.
And I passed by, and look, he was not. And I looked for him, but he could not be found.
37 Observa al hombre íntegro y mira al que es recto, porque el hombre pacífico tendrá porvenir,
Observe the blameless, and see the upright, for there is a future for the man of peace.
38 en tanto que los rebeldes todos perecerán, y la posteridad de los impíos será extirpada.
As for transgressors, they shall be destroyed together. The future of the wicked shall be cut off.
39 De Yahvé viene la salvación de los justos; Él es su fortaleza en los días aciagos.
The salvation of the righteous is from Jehovah. He is their stronghold in the time of trouble.
40 Yahvé les da ayuda y libertad; los saca de las manos de los impíos y los salva, porque a Él se acogieron.
And Jehovah helps them, and rescues them. He rescues them from the wicked, and saves them, Because they have taken refuge in him.
