Números 36
1 Se acercaron los jefes de las casas paternas de la familia de los hijos de Galaad, hijo de Maquir, hijo de Manasés, de entre las familias de los hijos de José y dirigiéndose a Moisés y a los príncipes, jefes de las casas paternas de los hijos de Israel,
Then came near the heads of fathers, belonging to the family of the sons of Gilead son of Machir son of Manasseh, out of the families of the sons of Joseph, —and spake before Moses, and before the princes, heads of fathers belonging to the sons of Israel;
2 dijeron: “Yahvé mandó a mi señor dar por suertes la tierra de herencia a los hijos de Israel; también recibió mi señor orden de Yahvé de dar la herencia de nuestro hermano Salfaad a sus hijas.
and they said—Unto my lord, did Yahweh give command, to bestow the land as an inheritance, by lot, unto the sons of Israel, —my lord, therefore, was commanded by Yahweh, to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother unto his daughters.
3 Mas si ellas se casan con uno de los hijos de las (otras) tribus de los israelitas, la herencia de ellas será sustraída a la herencia de nuestros padres, y aumentará la herencia de la tribu de la cual ellas formen parte, disminuyéndose así la herencia que nos tocó en suerte.
When, therefore, unto any one from among the sons of the other tribes of the sons of Israel, they become wives their inheritance shall disappear out of the inheritance of our fathers, and be added to the inheritance of the tribe to which they shall be received, —and so out of the lot of our inheritance, shall it disappear,
4 Y cuando viene el año jubilar para los hijos de Israel, la herencia de ellas será agregada a la herencia de la tribu a la cual pertenezcan, y así su herencia será cortada de la herencia de la tribu de nuestros padres.”
And when the jubilee shall come to the sons of Israel, then shall their inheritance be added unto the inheritance of the tribe to which they shall be received—and, out of the, inheritance of the tribe of our fathers, shall their inheritance disappear.
5 Entonces Moisés, por mandato de Yahvé, dio esta orden a los hijos de Israel: “Ha dicho bien la tribu de los hijos de José.
Then Moses commanded the sons of Israel, at the bidding of Yahweh saying, —A right thing, are, the tribe of the sons of Joseph, speaking,
6 He aquí lo que manda Yahvé respecto de las hijas de Salfaad: Cásense como mejor les parezca, con tal que sea con una familia de la tribu de su padre,
This, is the thing which Yahweh hath commanded, as to the daughters of Zelophehad saying: Unto whomsoever it may be good in their eyes, let them become wives, —save only unto the family of the tribe of their father, let them become wives.
7 para que la herencia de los hijos de Israel no pase de una tribu a la otra; así que los hijos de Israel queden vinculados cada uno con la herencia de la tribu de sus padres.
So shall no inheritance belonging to the sons of Israel go round from tribe to tribe, —for the sons of Israel shall, each one, cleave, unto the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers,
8 Toda hija que tenga herencia en una de las tribus de los hijos de Israel, se casará dentro de la familia de la tribu de su padre; a fin de que los hijos de Israel conserven cada uno la herencia de sus padres.
And, every daughter possessing all inheritance from among the tribes of the sons of Israel, unto one of the family of the tribe of her father, shall become wife, —to the intent that the sons of Israel may possess each one the inheritance of his fathers;
9 Ninguna herencia pasará de una tribu a otra, sino que las tribus de los hijos de Israel conserven cada una su herencia.”
and no inheritance go round from one tribe to another tribe, —for the tribes of the sons of Israel shall cleave, each one unto his own inheritance.
10 Como había mandado Yahvé a Moisés, así lo hicieron las hijas de Salfaad;
As Yahweh commanded Moses, so, did the daughters of Zelophehad.
11 de modo que Maalá, Tirsá, Hoglá, Milcá y Noá, las hijas de Salfaad, se casaron con hijos de sus tíos.
Thus then did Mahlah, Tirzah, and Hoglah, and Milchah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, become wives, unto the sons of their father’s brethren.
12 Se casaron en familia de los hijos de Manasés, hijo de José; y quedó su herencia en la tribu de la familia de su padre.
Unto men from among the families of the son of Manasseh son of Joseph, became they wives, —and so their inheritance remained with the tribe of the family of their father.
13 Estos son los preceptos y las leyes que prescribió Yahvé, por boca de Moisés, a los hijos de Israel, en las campiñas de Moab, junto al Jordán, frente a Jericó.
These are the commandments and the regulations which Yahweh gave in charge, by the hand of Moses, unto the sons of Israel, —in the waste plains of Moab, by Jordan near Jericho.
