Números 12
1 Hablaron María y Aarón contra Moisés, con motivo de la mujer cusita que este se había tomado; pues estaba casado con una mujer de Cus.
And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses, on account of the Cushite woman whom he had taken, —for, a Cushite woman, had he taken.
2 Decían: “¿Acaso tan solo por boca de Moisés ha hablado Yahvé? ¿No ha hablado también por nosotros?” Y lo oyó Yahvé.
And they said: Is it only and solely with Moses, that Yahweh hath spoken? With us also, hath he not spoken? And Yahweh heard it.
3 Es de saber que Moisés era hombre muy manso, más que hombre alguno sobre la tierra.
Now, the man Moses, was patient, exceedingly, —above all the sons of earth, who were on the face of the ground.
4 Al instante dijo Yahvé a Moisés, a Aarón y a María: “Id los tres al Tabernáculo de la Reunión.” Y salieron los tres.
Then said Yahweh suddenly, unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tent of meeting. And they three went out.
5 Y descendió Yahvé en la columna de nube, y poniéndose a la entrada del Tabernáculo de la Reunión, llamó a Aarón y a María que se presentaran ambos.
Then Yahweh came down in a pillar of cloud, and stood at the entrance of the tent, —and called Aaron and Miriam, and they both went forth.
6 Y Él les dijo: “Escuchad mis palabras: Si alguno de vosotros es profeta, Yo Yahvé me le doy a conocer en visión o le hablo en sueños.
Then said he Hear, I beseech you my words. When ye have your prophet, As Yahweh in a vision, will I make myself known, unto him; In a dream, will I speak with him.
7 No lo hago así con mi siervo Moisés, el cual es fiel en toda mi casa.
Not so, my servant Moses, —In all my house, trusty, is he:
8 Con él hablo cara a cara y claramente, no por medio de enigmas; pues él ve la imagen de Yahvé. ¿Por qué, pues, os atrevisteis a hablar contra mi siervo Moisés?”
Mouth to mouth, do I speak with him And plainly—not in dark sayings, And the form of Yahweh, doth he discern, —Wherefore then, were ye not afraid to speak against my servant—against Moses?
9 Y habiéndose inflamado contra ellos su ira se fue Yahvé.
And the anger of Yahweh kindled upon them and he departed.
10 Después se retiró la nube que estaba sobre el Tabernáculo y he aquí que María apareció cubierta de lepra como de nieve. Cuando Aarón volvió el rostro hacia María, la vio cubierta de lepra.
And, when, the cloud, removed from off the tent, —lo! Miriam, leprous, like snow! And Aaron turned unto Miriam and lo! …leprous!
11 Entonces Aarón dijo a Moisés: “Oh, señor mío, no nos imputes, te suplico, este pecado; pues hemos obrado neciamente, hemos pecado.
Then said Aaron unto Moses, —Oh my lord, do not I beseech thee lay upon us sin, although we have made ourselves foolish, and although we have sinned.
12 No sea ella como un abortivo, que al salir del seno de su madre tiene ya medio consumida la carne.”
Let her not, I beseech thee, remain like the still-born, —which when it is born of its mother, the half of its flesh is consumed.
13 Entonces clamó Moisés a Yahvé, diciendo: “Te ruego, oh Dios, que la sanes.”
Then Moses made outcry unto Yahweh, saying, —O GOD, I beseech thee grant healing. I beseech thee unto her.
14 Y Yahvé respondió a Moisés: “Si su padre la hubiera escupido en la cara, ¿no se avergonzaría ella por siete días? Sea, por lo tanto, excluida del campamento por siete días, y después será recibida de nuevo.”
And Yahweh said unto Moses: If, her own father, had, but spat, in her face, would she not, have acknowledged the shame for seven days? Let her shut herself up for seven days, outside the camp, and afterwards, let her be received back.
15 Fue María excluida del campamento por siete días; y el pueblo no se movió del lugar hasta la reincorporación de María. Después el pueblo partió de Haserot; y acamparon en el desierto de Farán.
So Miriam shut herself up, outside the camp, for seven days, —and, the people, set not forward, until Miriam had been received back.
Then afterwards, did the people set forward from Hazeroth, and encamped in the desert of Paran.
