1 El segundo año después de la salida del país de Egipto, el primer día del mes segundo, habló Yahvé a Moisés en el desierto del Sinaí, en el Tabernáculo de la Reunión, diciendo:
The LORD spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the Tent of Meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying,
2 “Haced el censo de toda la Congregación de los hijos de Israel, según sus familias y casas paternas, contando por cabezas los nombres de todos los varones
“Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, every male, one by one,
3 de veinte años para arriba de todos los israelitas aptos para la guerra. Tú y Aarón los contaréis según sus escuadrones.
from twenty years old and upward, all who are able to go out to war in Israel. You and Aaron shall count them by their divisions.
4 Os acompañará un hombre de cada tribu, que sea cabeza de su casa paterna.
With you there shall be a man of every tribe, each one head of his fathers’ house.
5 Estos son los nombres de los varones que os ayudarán: De Rubén, Elisur, hijo de Sedeur,
These are the names of the men who shall stand with you: Of Reuben: Elizur the son of Shedeur.
6 de Simeón, Selumiel, hijo de Surisadai;
Of Simeon: Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.
7 de Judá, Naasón, hijo de Aminadab;
Of Judah: Nahshon the son of Amminadab.
8 de Isacar, Natanael, hijo de Suar;
Of Issachar: Nethanel the son of Zuar.
9 de Zabulón, Eliab, hijo de Helón;
Of Zebulun: Eliab the son of Helon.
10 de los hijos de José: de Efraím, Elisamá, hijo de Amiud; de Manasés, Gamaliel, hijo de Pedasur:
Of the children of Joseph: of Ephraim: Elishama the son of Ammihud; of Manasseh: Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.
11 de Benjamín, Abidán, hijo de Gedeoní;
Of Benjamin: Abidan the son of Gideoni.
12 de Dan, Ahiéser, hijo de Amisadai;
Of Dan: Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.
13 de Aser, Pagiel, hijo de Ocrán;
Of Asher: Pagiel the son of Ochran.
14 de Gad, Eliasaf, hijo de Deuel;
Of Gad: Eliasaph the son of Deuel.
15 de Neftalí, Ahirá, hijo de Enan.”
Of Naphtali: Ahira the son of Enan.”
16 Estos fueron los designados de entre la Congregación. Eran los príncipes de las tribus de sus padres y cabezas de los millares de Israel.
These are those who were called of the congregation, the princes of the tribes of their fathers; they were the heads of the thousands of Israel.
17 Moisés y Aarón tomaron a estos hombres designados nominalmente
Moses and Aaron took these men who are mentioned by name.
18 y reunieron a toda la Congregación el día primero del segundo mes. Entonces fueron registrados, cabeza por cabeza, los varones de veinte años para arriba, según sus familias y casas paternas, conforme al número de los nombres.
They assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month; and they declared their ancestry by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, one by one.
19 Como Yahvé había mandado a Moisés, así los contó este en el desierto del Sinaí.
As the LORD commanded Moses, so he counted them in the wilderness of Sinai.
20 Hijos de Rubén, primogénito de Israel. Fueron alistados sus descendientes según sus familias y casas paternas, nominalmente y cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de veinte años para arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra,
The children of Reuben, Israel’s firstborn, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, one by one, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:
21 y fueron contados de la tribu de Rubén cuarenta y seis mil quinientos.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Reuben, were forty-six thousand and five hundred.
22 Hijos de Simeón. Fueron alistados sus descendientes, según sus familias y casas paternas, nominalmente y cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de veinte años para arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra;
Of the children of Simeon, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, those who were counted of it, according to the number of the names, one by one, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:
23 y fueron contados de la tribu de Simeón cincuenta y nueve mil trescientos.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Simeon, were fifty-nine thousand and three hundred.
24 Hijos de Gad. Fueron alistados nominalmente sus descendientes, según sus familias y casas paternas, los de veinte años para arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra;
Of the children of Gad, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:
25 y fueron contados de la tribu de Gad cuarenta y cinco mil seiscientos cincuenta.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Gad, were forty-five thousand and six hundred and fifty.
26 Hijos de Judá. Fueron alistados nominalmente sus descendientes, según sus familias y casas paternas, los de veinte años para arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra;
Of the children of Judah, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:
27 y fueron contados de la tribu de Judá setenta y cuatro mil seiscientos.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Judah, were seventy-four thousand and six hundred.
28 Hijos de Isacar. Fueron alistados nominalmente sus descendientes, según sus familias y casas paternas, los de veinte años para arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra;
Of the children of Issachar, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:
29 y fueron contados de la tribu de Isacar cincuenta y cuatro mil cuatrocientos.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Issachar, were fifty-four thousand and four hundred.
30 Hijos de Zabulón. Fueron alistados nominalmente sus descendientes, según sus familias y casas paternas, de veinte años para arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra;
Of the children of Zebulun, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:
31 y fueron contados de la tribu de Zabulón cincuenta y siete mil cuatrocientos.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Zebulun, were fifty-seven thousand and four hundred.
32 Hijos de José, hijos de Efraím. Fueron alistados nominalmente sus descendientes, según sus familias y casas paternas, los de veinte años para arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra;
Of the children of Joseph: of the children of Ephraim, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:
33 y fueron contados de la tribu de Efraím cuarenta mil quinientos.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Ephraim, were forty thousand and five hundred.
34 Hijos de Manasés. Fueron alistados nominalmente sus descendientes, según sus familias y sus casas paternas, los de veinte años para arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra;
Of the children of Manasseh, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:
35 y fueron contados de la tribu de Manasés treinta y dos mil doscientos.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Manasseh, were thirty-two thousand and two hundred.
36 Hijos de Benjamín. Fueron alistados nominalmente sus descendientes, según sus familias y sus casas paternas, los de veinte años para arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra;
Of the children of Benjamin, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:
37 y fueron contados de la tribu de Benjamín treinta y cinco mil cuatrocientos.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Benjamin, were thirty-five thousand and four hundred.
38 Hijos de Dan. Fueron alistados nominalmente sus descendientes, según sus familias y casas paternas, los de veinte años para arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra;
Of the children of Dan, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:
39 y fueron contados de la tribu de Dan sesenta y dos mil setecientos.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Dan, were sixty-two thousand and seven hundred.
40 Hijos de Aser. Fueron alistados nominalmente sus descendientes, según sus familias y casas paternas, los de veinte años para arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra;
Of the children of Asher, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:
41 y fueron contados de la tribu de Aser cuarenta y un mil quinientos.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Asher, were forty-one thousand and five hundred.
42 Hijos de Neftalí. Fueron alistados nominalmente sus descendientes, según sus familias y casas paternas, los de veinte años para arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra;
Of the children of Naphtali, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:
43 y fueron contados de la tribu de Neftalí cincuenta y tres mil cuatrocientos.
those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Naphtali, were fifty-three thousand and four hundred.
44 Estos son los empadronados, a quienes contaron Moisés y Aarón, con los doce príncipes de Israel, uno por cada casa paterna,
These are those who were counted, whom Moses and Aaron counted, and the twelve men who were princes of Israel, each one for his fathers’ house.
45 y fue el número de todos los empadronados de los hijos de Israel, según sus casas paternas, de veinte años para arriba, todos aptos para la guerra:
So all those who were counted of the children of Israel by their fathers’ houses, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war in Israel—
46 el número de todos esos empadronados fue de seiscientos tres mil quinientos cincuenta.
all those who were counted were six hundred and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.
47 Los levitas no fueron contados como los otros, según la tribu de sus padres;
But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not counted amongst them.
48 porque Yahvé habló a Moisés, diciendo:
For the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
49 “No contarás la tribu de Leví, y no harás su censo entre los hijos de Israel.
“Only the tribe of Levi you shall not count, neither shall you take a census of them amongst the children of Israel;
50 Encargarás a los levitas el cuidado del Tabernáculo del Testimonio, con todos sus utensilios, y todo cuanto le pertenece: ellos llevarán el Tabernáculo y todos sus utensilios, ejercerán allí su ministerio y acamparán alrededor del Tabernáculo.
but appoint the Levites over the Tabernacle of the Testimony, and over all its furnishings, and over all that belongs to it. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings; and they shall take care of it, and shall encamp around it.
51 Al ponerse en marcha el Tabernáculo, los levitas lo desarmarán; y al pararse el Tabernáculo, los levitas lo armarán; y el extraño que se acercare morirá.
When the tabernacle is to move, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall set it up. The stranger who comes near shall be put to death.
52 Los hijos de Israel fijarán sus tiendas, cada (tribu) en su campamento, y bajo su bandera, según sus escuadrones;
The children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, according to their divisions.
53 los levitas, en cambio, acamparán alrededor del Tabernáculo del Testimonio, para que la ira (de Dios) no estalle contra la Congregación de los hijos de Israel. Los levitas estarán encargados de guardar el Tabernáculo del Testimonio.”
But the Levites shall encamp around the Tabernacle of the Testimony, that there may be no wrath on the congregation of the children of Israel. The Levites shall be responsible for the Tabernacle of the Testimony.”
Thus the children of Israel did. According to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so they did.
