San Mateo 16
1 Acercáronse los fariseos y saduceos y, para ponerlo a prueba le pidieron que les hiciese ver alguna señal del cielo.
The Pharisees [Separated] and Sadducees [Morally-upright] came, and testing him, asked him to show them a sign from heaven.
2 Mas Él les respondió y dijo: “Cuando ha llegado la tarde, decís: Buen tiempo, porque el cielo está rojo”,
But he answered them, “When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’
3 y a la mañana: “Hoy habrá tormenta, porque el cielo tiene un rojo sombrío”. Sabéis discernir el aspecto del cielo, pero no las señales de los tiempos.
In the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but you can’t discern the signs of the times!
4 Una generación mala y adúltera requiere una señal: no le será dada otra que la del profeta Jonás”. Y dejándolos, se fue.
An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and there will be no sign given to it, except the sign of the prophet Jonah [Dove].” He left them, and departed.
5 Los discípulos, al ir a la otra orilla, habían olvidado de llevar panes.
The disciples came to the other side and had forgotten to take bread.
6 Y Jesús les dijo: “Mirad y guardaos de la levadura de los fariseos y de los saduceos”.
Yeshua [Salvation] said to them, “Take heed and beware of the hametz ·leaven· of the Pharisees [Separated] and Sadducees [Morally-upright].”
7 Ellos dentro de sí discurrían diciendo: “Es que no hemos traído panes”.
They reasoned among themselves, saying, “We brought no bread.”
8 Mas Jesús lo conoció y dijo: “Hombres de poca fe; ¿qué andáis discurriendo dentro de vosotros mismos que no tenéis panes?
Yeshua [Salvation], perceiving it, said, “Why do you reason among yourselves, you of little trusting faith, ‘because you have brought no bread?’
9 ¿No entendéis todavía, ni recordáis los cinco panes de los cinco mil, y cuántos canastos recogisteis?
Don’t you yet perceive, neither remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many baskets you took up?
10 ¿Ni los siete panes de los cuatro mil, y cuántos canastos recogisteis?
Nor the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many baskets you took up?
11 ¿Cómo no entendéis que no de los panes os quería hablar al deciros: “Guardaos de la levadura de los fariseos y de los saduceos?”
How is it that you don’t perceive that I didn’t speak to you concerning bread? But beware of the hametz ·leaven· of the Pharisees [Separated] and Sadducees [Morally-upright].”
12 Entonces, comprendieron que no había querido decir que se guardasen de la levadura de los panes, sino de la doctrina de los fariseos y saduceos.
Then they understood that he didn’t tell them to beware of the hametz ·leaven· of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees [Separated] and Sadducees [Morally-upright].
13 Y llegado Jesús a la región de Cesarea de Filipo, propuso esta cuestión a sus discípulos: “¿Quién dicen los hombres que es el Hijo del hombre?”
Now when Yeshua [Salvation] came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi [Ruler Loves horses], he asked his disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”
14 Respondieron: “Unos dicen que es Juan el Bautista, otros Elías, otros Jeremías o algún otro de los profetas”.
They said, “Some say John [Yah is gracious] the Immerser, some say Elijah [My God Yah], and others say Jeremiah [Yah lifts up], or one of the prophets.”
15 Díjoles: “Y según vosotros, ¿quién soy Yo?”
He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
16 Respondiole Simón Pedro y dijo: “Tú eres el Cristo, el Hijo del Dios vivo”.
Simeon Peter [Hearing Rock] answered, “You are the Messiah [Anointed one], haBen haElohim Chayim [the Son of the God Living].”
17 Entonces Jesús le dijo: “Bienaventurado eres, Simón Bar-Yoná, porque carne y sangre no te lo reveló, sino mi Padre celestial.
Yeshua [Salvation] answered him, “Blessed are you, Simeon Bar Jonah [Hearing son of Dove], for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but 'Avi shebashamayim ·my Father in Heaven·.
18 Y Yo, te digo que tú eres Pedro, y sobre esta piedra edificaré mi Iglesia, y las puertas del abismo no prevalecerán contra ella. (Hadēs g86)
I also tell you that you are Peter [Rock], and on this rock I will build my assembly, and the gates of Hades / Sh'ol ·Place of the dead· will not prevail against it. (Hadēs g86)
19 A ti te daré las llaves del reino de los cielos: lo que atares sobre la tierra, estará atado en los cielos, lo que desatares sobre la tierra, estará desatado en los cielos”.
I will give to you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven (God), and whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven; and whatever you release on earth will have been released in heaven.”
20 Entonces mandó a sus discípulos que no dijesen a nadie que Él era el Cristo.
Then he commanded the disciples that they should tell no one that he was Yeshua the Messiah [Salvation the Anointed one].
21 Desde entonces comenzó Jesús a declarar a sus discípulos que Él debía ir a Jerusalén y sufrir mucho de parte de los ancianos, de los sumos sacerdotes y de los escribas, y ser condenado a muerte y, resucitar al tercer día.
From that time, Yeshua [Salvation] began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem [City of peace] and suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and Torah-Teachers, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.
22 Mas Pedro, tomándolo aparte, se puso a reconvenirle, diciendo: “¡Lejos de Ti, Señor! Esto no te sucederá por cierto”.
Peter [Rock] took him aside, and began to rebuke him, saying, “Far be it from you, Lord! This will never be done to you.”
23 Pero Él volviéndose, dijo a Pedro: “¡Quítateme de delante, Satanás! ¡Un tropiezo eres para Mí, porque no sientes las cosas de Dios, sino las de los hombres!”.
But he turned, and said to Peter [Rock], “Get behind me, Satan [Adversary]! You are a sin ·scandal, trap snare, entrapment· to me, for you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of men.”
24 Entonces, dijo a sus discípulos: “Si alguno quiere seguirme, renúnciese a sí mismo, y lleve su cruz y siga tras de Mí.
Then Yeshua [Salvation] said to his disciples, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his execution-stake, and follow me.
25 Porque el que quisiere salvar su alma, la perderá; y quien pierda su alma por mi causa, la hallará.
For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, and whoever will lose his life for my sake will find it.
26 Porque ¿de qué sirve al hombre, si gana el mundo entero, mas pierde su alma? ¿O qué podrá dar el hombre a cambio de su alma?
For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life?
27 Porque el Hijo del hombre ha de venir, en la gloria de su Padre, con sus ángeles, y entonces dará a cada uno según sus obras.
For the Son of Man will come in the glory of 'Aviv ·his Father· with his angels, and then he will render to everyone according to his deeds.
28 En verdad, os digo, algunos de los que están aquí no gustarán la muerte sin que hayan visto al Hijo del hombre viniendo en su Reino”.
Most certainly I tell you, there are some standing here who will in no way taste of death, until they see the Son of Man coming in his Kingdom.”
