Levítico 16

1 Habló Yahvé a Moisés después de la muerte de los dos hijos de Aarón, los cuales murieron al acercarse a Yahvé;

And the LORD spoke unto Moses, after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they drew near before the LORD, and died;

2 y dijo Yahvé a Moisés: “Di a tu hermano Aarón, que no en todo tiempo entre en el Santuario que está tras el velo, delante del propiciatorio que cubre el Arca, no sea que muera: pues Yo me hago ver en la nube encima del propiciatorio.

and the LORD said unto Moses: 'Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within the veil, before the ark-cover which is upon the ark; that he die not; for I appear in the cloud upon the ark-cover.

3 He aquí cómo Aarón ha de entrar en el Santuario: tomará un becerro para sacrificio por el pecado y un carnero para holocausto.

Herewith shall Aaron come into the holy place: with a young bullock for a sin-offering, and a ram for a burnt-offering.

4 Se vestirá de la túnica santa de lino, se pondrá sobre su carne los calzoncillos de lino, se ceñirá el cinturón de lino y se cubrirá con la mitra de lino. Estas son las vestiduras sagradas que vestirá después de haberse lavado con agua.

He shall put on the holy linen tunic, and he shall have the linen breeches upon his flesh, and shall be girded with the linen girdle, and with the linen mitre shall he be attired; they are the holy garments; and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and put them on.

5 Luego tomará de la Congregación de los hijos de Israel dos machos cabríos para sacrificio por el pecado y un carnero para holocausto.

And he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel two he-goats for a sin-offering, and one ram for a burnt-offering.

6 Y después de ofrecer su becerro por el pecado para expiación de sí mismo y de su casa,

And Aaron shall present the bullock of the sin-offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself, and for his house.

7 tomará Aarón los dos machos cabríos y los presentará ante Yahvé, a la entrada del Tabernáculo de la Reunión.

And he shall take the two goats, and set them before the LORD at the door of the tent of meeting.

8 Luego Aarón echará suertes sobre los dos machos cabríos, una suerte para Yahvé, y la otra para Asasel.

And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats: one lot for the LORD, and the other lot for Azazel.

9 Y presentará Aarón el macho cabrío que haya tocado en suerte a Yahvé, ofreciéndolo como sacrificio por el pecado.

And Aaron shall present the goat upon which the lot fell for the LORD, and offer him for a sin-offering.

10 El macho cabrío que por suerte tocare a Asasel, lo colocará vivo delante de Yahvé, para hacer sobre él la expiación y echarlo al desierto, para Asasel.

But the goat, on which the lot fell for Azazel, shall be set alive before the LORD, to make atonement over him, to send him away for Azazel into the wilderness.

11 Entonces ofrecerá Aarón su becerro por el pecado, para hacer expiación por sí mismo y por su casa, e inmolará su becerro por el pecado.

And Aaron shall present the bullock of the sin-offering, which is for himself, and shall make atonement for himself, and for his house, and shall kill the bullock of the sin-offering which is for himself.

12 Tomará después un incensario lleno de brasas sacadas de sobre el altar que está ante Yahvé, y dos puñados de incienso aromático pulverizado, y llevándolo detrás del velo,

And he shall take a censer full of coals of fire from off the altar before the LORD, and his hands full of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the veil.

13 pondrá el incienso sobre el fuego, delante de Yahvé, para que la nube del incienso envuelva el propiciatorio que está encima del Testimonio y él no muera.

And he shall put the incense upon the fire before the LORD, that the cloud of the incense may cover the ark-cover that is upon the testimony, that he die not.

14 Tomando luego de la sangre del becerro la derramará con su dedo sobre el frente oriental del propiciatorio, y con su dedo hará siete aspersiones de sangre delante del propiciatorio.

And he shall take of the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it with his finger upon the ark-cover on the east; and before the ark-cover shall he sprinkle of the blood with his finger seven times.

15 Después degollará el macho cabrío por el pecado del pueblo, y llevará su sangre detrás del velo, haciendo con su sangre lo que hizo con la sangre del becerro: la derramará sobre el propiciatorio y delante del mismo.

Then shall he kill the goat of the sin-offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the veil, and do with his blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the ark-cover, and before the ark-cover.

16 Así purificará el Santuario de las impurezas de los hijos de Israel y de sus transgresiones y de todos sus pecados. Lo mismo hará con el Tabernáculo de la Reunión, que está entre ellos en medio de sus impurezas.

And he shall make atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleannesses of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions, even all their sins; and so shall he do for the tent of meeting, that dwelleth with them in the midst of their uncleannesses.

17 Nadie debe estar en el Tabernáculo de la Reunión cuando él entre para hacer la expiación dentro del Santuario, hasta que salga después de haber hecho la expiación por sí mismo, por su casa y por toda la asamblea de Israel.

And there shall be no man in the tent of meeting when he goeth in to make atonement in the holy place, until he come out, and have made atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the assembly of Israel.

18 Luego saldrá hacia el altar que está ante Yahvé, y lo expiará, tomando de la sangre del becerro y de la sangre del macho cabrío y poniéndola sobre los cuernos del altar todo en torno.

And he shall go out unto the altar that is before the LORD, and make atonement for it; and shall take of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about.

19 Hará sobre él con su dedo siete aspersiones de la sangre, y así lo purificará y lo santificará de las impurezas de los hijos de Israel.

And he shall sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and hallow it from the uncleannesses of the children of Israel.

20 Acabada la expiación del Santuario, del Tabernáculo de la Reunión y del altar, presentará Aarón el macho cabrío vivo;

And when he hath made an end of atoning for the holy place, and the tent of meeting, and the altar, he shall present the live goat.

21 y poniendo ambas manos sobre la cabeza del macho cabrío vivo, confesará sobre él todas las iniquidades de los hijos de Israel, y todas las transgresiones y todos los pecados de ellos, y depositándolos sobre la cabeza del macho cabrío, lo enviará al desierto por mano de un hombre designado para ello.

And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions, even all their sins; and he shall put them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of an appointed man into the wilderness.

22 Así el macho cabrío llevará sobre sí todas las iniquidades de ellos hacia tierra inhabitada, y el hombre soltará al macho cabrío en el desierto.

And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land which is cut off; and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness.

23 Luego entrará Aarón en el Tabernáculo de la Reunión, y quitándose las vestiduras de lino que se había vestido al entrar en el Santuario, las dejará allí,

And Aaron shall come into the tent of meeting, and shall put off the linen garments, which he put on when he went into the holy place, and shall leave them there.

24 lavará su cuerpo con agua en lugar sagrado y se pondrá sus vestiduras. Después saldrá y ofrecerá su holocausto y el holocausto del pueblo, haciendo la expiación por sí mismo y por el pueblo,

And he shall bathe his flesh in water in a holy place and put on his other vestments, and come forth, and offer his burnt-offering and the burnt-offering of the people, and make atonement for himself and for the people.

25 y quemando sobre el altar el sebo de la víctima por el pecado.

And the fat of the sin-offering shall he make smoke upon the altar.

26 El hombre encargado de soltar al macho cabrío para Asasel, lavará sus vestidos y bañará su cuerpo en agua; después de esto podrá entrar en el campamento.

And he that letteth go the goat for Azazel shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he may come into the camp.

27 El becerro del sacrificio por el pecado y el macho cabrío inmolado por el pecado, cuya sangre fue introducida en el Santuario para hacer expiación, serán sacados fuera del campamento y quemados sus pieles, su carne y sus excrementos.

And the bullock of the sin-offering, and the goat of the sin-offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, shall be carried forth without the camp; and they shall burn in the fire their skins, and their flesh, and their dung.

28 El que los queme lavará sus vestidos y se bañará en agua; después de esto podrá entrar en el campamento.

And he that burneth them shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he may come into the camp.

29 Será esta para vosotros una ley perpetua: En el mes séptimo, el día décimo del mes, os mortificaréis y no haréis trabajo alguno, ni el indígena, ni el extranjero que mora en medio de vosotros.

And it shall be a statute for ever unto you: in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and shall do no manner of work, the home-born, or the stranger that sojourneth among you.

30 Porque en ese día se hará expiación por vosotros para purificaros y de todos vuestros pecados quedaréis limpios delante de Yahvé.

For on this day shall atonement be made for you, to cleanse you; from all your sins shall ye be clean before the LORD.

31 Será para vosotros un sábado solemne, en el cual os habéis de mortificar. Ley perpetua será esta.

It is a sabbath of solemn rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls; it is a statute for ever.

32 La expiación será hecha por el sacerdote ungido y consagrado como sacerdote en lugar de su padre: se vestirá las vestiduras de lino, las vestiduras sagradas,

And the priest, who shall be anointed and who shall be consecrated to be priest in his father's stead, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen garments, even the holy garments.

33 y hará la expiación del Santuario de la santidad; expiará el Tabernáculo de la Reunión y el altar, como asimismo hará la expiación por los sacerdotes y por todo el pueblo de la Congregación.

And he shall make atonement for the most holy place, and he shall make atonement for the tent of meeting and for the altar; and he shall make atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly.

34 Esto lo tendréis por precepto perpetuo, para hacer la expiación por los hijos de Israel, por todos sus pecados, una vez al año.” Y se hizo como Yahvé mandara a Moisés.

And this shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make atonement for the children of Israel because of all their sins once in the year.' And he did as the LORD commanded Moses.
