Juan 19
1 Entonces, pues, Pilato tomó a Jesús y lo hizo azotar.
So Pilate [Armed with javelin] then took Yeshua [Salvation], and flogged him.
2 Luego los soldados trenzaron una corona de espinas, que le pusieron sobre la cabeza, y lo vistieron con un manto de púrpura.
The soldiers twisted thorns into a crown, and put it on his head, and dressed him in a purple garment.
3 Y acercándose a Él, decían: “¡Salve, rey de los judíos!” y le daban bofetadas.
They kept saying, “Hail, King of the Jews [Praisers]!” and they kept slapping him.
4 Pilato salió otra vez afuera, y les dijo: “Os lo traigo fuera, para que sepáis que yo no encuentro contra Él ningún cargo”.
Then Pilate [Armed with javelin] went out again, and said to them, “Behold, I bring him out to you, that you may know that I find no basis for a charge against him.”
5 Entonces Jesús salió fuera, con la corona de espinas y el manto de púrpura, y ( Pilato ) les dijo: “¡He aquí al hombre!”
Yeshua [Salvation] therefore came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple garment. Pilate [Armed with javelin] said to them, “Behold, the man!”
6 Los sumos sacerdotes y los satélites, desde que lo vieron, se pusieron a gritar: “¡Crucifícalo, crucifícalo!” Pilato les dijo: “Tomadlo vosotros, y crucificadlo; porque yo no encuentro en Él ningún delito”.
When therefore the chief priests and the officers saw him, they shouted, saying, “Crucify! Crucify!” Pilate [Armed with javelin] said to them, “Take him yourselves, and crucify him, for I find no basis for a charge against him.”
7 Los judíos le respondieron: “Nosotros tenemos una Ley, y según esta Ley, debe morir, porque se ha hecho Hijo de Dios”.
The Jews answered him, “We have a law (of God), and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Ben-Elohim ·Son of Elohim God·.”
8 Ante estas palabras, aumentó el temor de Pilato.
When therefore Pilate [Armed with javelin] heard this saying, he was more afraid.
9 Volvió a entrar al pretorio, y preguntó a Jesús: “¿De dónde eres Tú?” Jesús no le dio respuesta.
He entered into the Praetorium again, and said to Yeshua [Salvation], “Where are you from?” But Yeshua [Salvation] gave him no answer.
10 Díjole, pues, Pilato: “¿A mí no me hablas? ¿No sabes que tengo el poder de librarte y el poder de crucificarte?”
Pilate [Armed with javelin] therefore said to him, “Are not you speaking to me? Don’t you know that I have power to release you, and have power to crucify you?”
11 Jesús le respondió: “No tendrías sobre Mí ningún poder, si no te hubiera sido dado de lo alto; por esto quien me entregó a ti, tiene mayor pecado”.
Yeshua [Salvation] answered, “You would have no power at all against me, unless it were given to you from above. Therefore he who delivered me to you has greater abstract sin ·miss the mark·.”
12 Desde entonces Pilato buscaba cómo dejarlo libre; pero los judíos se pusieron a gritar diciendo: “Si sueltas a este, no eres amigo del César: todo el que se pretende rey, se opone al César”.
At this, Pilate [Armed with javelin] was seeking to release him, but the Jews [Praisers] cried out, saying, “If you release this man, you are not Caesar’s [Ruler]’s friend! Everyone who makes himself a king speaks against Caesar [Ruler]!”
13 Pilato, al oír estas palabras, hizo salir a Jesús afuera; después se sentó en el tribunal en el lugar llamado Lithóstrotos, en hebreo Gábbatha.
When Pilate [Armed with javelin] therefore heard these words, he brought Yeshua [Salvation] out, and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called “The Pavement,” but in Hebrew [Immigrant], “Gabbatha.”
14 Era la preparación de la Pascua, alrededor de la hora sexta. Y dijo a los judíos: “He aquí a vuestro Rey”.
Now it was the Preparation Day for Pesac ·Passover· (Nissan 14), at about three o'clock in the afternoon. He said to the Jews [Praisers], “Behold, your King!”
15 Pero ellos se pusieron a gritar: “¡Muera! ¡Muera! ¡Crucifícalo!” Pilato les dijo: “¿A vuestro rey he de crucificar?” Respondieron los sumos sacerdotes: “¡Nosotros no tenemos otro rey que el César!”
They cried out, “Away with him! Away with him! Crucify him!” Pilate [Armed with javelin] said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar [Ruler]!”
16 Entonces se lo entregó para que fuese crucificado. Tomaron, pues, a Jesús;
So then he delivered him to them to be nailed to the execution-stake. So they took Yeshua [Salvation] and led him away.
17 y Él, llevándose su cruz, salió para el lugar llamado “El cráneo”, en hebreo Gólgotha,
He went out, bearing his execution-stake, to the place called “Skull,” which is called in Hebrew [Immigrant], “Golgotha [Place of skull],”
18 donde lo crucificaron, y con Él a otros dos, uno de cada lado, quedando Jesús en el medio.
where they nailed him to the stake, and with him two others, on either side one, and Yeshua [Salvation] in the middle.
19 Escribió también Pilato un título que puso sobre la cruz. Estaba escrito: “Jesús Nazareno, el rey de los judíos”.
Pilate [Armed with javelin] wrote a title also, and put it on the execution-stake. There was written, “Yeshua of Nazareth [Salvation of Branch, Separated one], The King of The Jews [Praisers].”
20 Este título fue leído por muchos judíos, porque el lugar donde Jesús fue crucificado se encontraba próximo a la ciudad; y estaba redactado en hebreo, en latín y en griego.
Therefore many of the Jews [Praisers] read this title, for the place where Yeshua [Salvation] was executed on the stake was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew [Immigrant], in Latin, and in Greek.
21 Mas los sumos sacerdotes de los judíos dijeron a Pilato: “No escribas “el rey de los judíos”, sino escribe que Él ha dicho: “Soy el rey de los judíos”.
The chief priests of the Jews [Praisers] therefore said to Pilate [Armed with javelin], “Don’t write, ‘The King of the Jews [Praisers],’ but, ‘he said, I am King of the Jews [Praisers].’”
22 Respondió Pilato: “Lo que escribí, escribí”.
Pilate [Armed with javelin] answered, “What I have written, I have written.”
23 Cuando los soldados hubieron crucificado a Jesús, tomaron sus vestidos, de los que hicieron cuatro partes, una para cada uno, y también la túnica. Esta túnica era sin costura, tejida de una sola pieza desde arriba.
Then the soldiers, when they had nailed Yeshua [Salvation] to the stake, took his garments and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also the coat. Now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.
24 Se dijeron, pues, unos a otros: “No la rasguemos, sino echemos suertes sobre ella para saber de quién será”; a fin de que se cumpliese la Escritura: “Se repartieron mis vestidos, y sobre mi túnica echaron suertes”. Y los soldados hicieron esto.
Then they said to one another, “Let’s not tear it, but cast lots for it to decide whose it will be,” that the Scripture might be fulfilled, which says, “They divided my garments among them. For my cloak they cast lots.” Therefore the soldiers did these things.
25 Junto a la cruz de Jesús estaba de pie su madre, y también la hermana de su madre, María, mujer de Cleofás, y María Magdalena.
But there were standing by the execution-stake of Yeshua [Salvation] his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary [Rebellion] the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala [Rebellion of City tower].
26 Jesús, viendo a su madre y, junto a ella, al discípulo que amaba, dijo a su madre: “Mujer, he ahí a tu hijo”.
Therefore when Yeshua [Salvation] saw his mother, and the disciple whom he felt agapao ·totally devoted love· for standing there, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son!”
27 Después dijo al discípulo: “He ahí a tu madre”. Y desde este momento el discípulo la recibió consigo.
Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” From that hour, the disciple took her to his own home.
28 Después de esto, Jesús, sabiendo que todo estaba acabado, para que tuviese cumplimiento la Escritura, dijo: “Tengo sed”.
After this, Yeshua [Salvation], seeing that all things were now finished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I am thirsty.”
29 Había allí un vaso lleno de vinagre. Empaparon pues, en vinagre una esponja, que ataron a un hisopo, y la aproximaron a su boca.
Now a vessel full of vinegar was set; so they put a sponge full of the vinegar on hyssop, and held it at his mouth.
30 Cuando hubo tomado el vinagre, dijo: “Está cumplido”, e inclinando la cabeza, entregó el espíritu.
When Yeshua [Salvation] therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished.” He bowed his head, and gave up his spirit.
31 Como era la Preparación a la Pascua, para que los cuerpos no quedasen en la cruz durante el sábado —porque era un día grande el de aquel sábado— los judíos pidieron a Pilato que se les quebrase las piernas, y los retirasen.
Therefore the Jews [Praisers], because it was the Preparation Day (Nissan 14), so that the bodies would not remain on the execution-stake on the festival Sabbath ·To cease· (for that Sabbath ·To cease· was a special one), asked of Pilate [Armed with javelin] that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
32 Vinieron, pues, los soldados y quebraron las piernas del primero, y luego del otro que había sido crucificado con Él.
Therefore the soldiers came, and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who was placed on execution-stakes with him;
33 Mas llegando a Jesús y viendo que ya estaba muerto, no le quebraron las piernas;
but when they came to Yeshua [Salvation], and saw that he was already dead, they didn’t break his legs.
34 pero uno de los soldados le abrió el costado con la lanza, y al instante salió sangre y agua.
However one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.
35 Y el que vio, ha dado testimonio —y su testimonio es verdadero, y él sabe que dice verdad— a fin de que vosotros también creáis.
He who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, that you may trust.
36 Porque esto sucedió para que se cumpliese la Escritura: “Ningún hueso le quebrantaréis”.
For these things happened, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, “Not one of his bones will be broken.”
37 Y también otra Escritura dice: “Volverán los ojos hacia Aquel a quien traspasaron”.
Again another Scripture says, “They will look on him whom they pierced.”
38 Después de esto, José de Arimatea, que era discípulo de Jesús, pero ocultamente, por miedo a los judíos, pidió a Pilato llevarse el cuerpo de Jesús, y Pilato se lo permitió. Vino, pues, y se llevó el cuerpo.
After these things, Joseph of Arimathaea [May he add of Lofty place], being a disciple of Yeshua [Salvation], but secretly for fear of the Jews [Praisers], asked of Pilate [Armed with javelin] that he might take away Yeshua's [Salvation]'s body. Pilate [Armed with javelin] gave him permission. He came therefore and took away his body.
39 Vino también Nicodemo, el que antes había ido a encontrarlo de noche; este trajo una mixtura de mirra y áloe, como cien libras.
Nicodemus [Victory people], who at first came to Yeshua [Salvation] by night, also came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about one hundred Roman pounds [72.5 lb; 3,289 kg].
40 pues, el cuerpo de Jesús y lo envolvieron en fajas con las especies aromáticas, según la manera de sepultar de los judíos.
So they took Yeshua's [Salvation]'s body, and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as the custom of the Jews [Praisers] is to bury.
41 En el lugar donde lo crucificaron había un jardín, y en el jardín un sepulcro nuevo, donde todavía nadie había sido puesto.
Now in the place where he was executed on the stake there was a garden. In the garden was a new tomb in which no man had ever yet been laid.
42 Allí fue donde, por causa de la Preparación de los judíos, y por hallarse próximo este sepulcro, pusieron a Jesús.
Then because of the Judean [Person from Praise] Preparation Day (Nissan 14) (for the tomb was near at hand) they laid Yeshua [Salvation] there.
