Juan 17
1 Así habló Jesús. Después, levantando sus ojos al cielo, dijo: “Padre, la hora es llegada; glorifica a tu Hijo, para que tu Hijo te glorifique a Ti;
When Jesus had thus spoken, He raised his eyes towards Heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come. Glorify Thy Son that the Son may glorify Thee;
2 —conforme al señorío que le conferiste sobre todo el género humano— dando vida eterna a todos los que Tú le has dado. (aiōnios g166)
even as Thou hast given Him authority over all mankind, so that on all whom Thou hast given Him He may bestow the Life of the Ages. (aiōnios g166)
3 Y la vida eterna es: que te conozcan a Ti, solo Dios verdadero, y a Jesucristo Enviado tuyo. (aiōnios g166)
And in this consists the Life of the Ages--in knowing Thee the only true God and Jesus Christ whom Thou hast sent. (aiōnios g166)
4 Yo te he glorificado a Ti sobre la tierra dando acabamiento a la obra que me confiaste para realizar.
I have glorified Thee on earth, having done perfectly the work which by Thine appointment has been mine to do.
5 Y ahora Tú, Padre, glorifícame a Mí junto a Ti mismo, con aquella gloria que en Ti tuve antes que el mundo existiese”.
And now, Father, do Thou glorify me in Thine own presence, with the glory that I had in Thy presence before the world existed.
6 “Yo he manifestado tu Nombre a los hombres que me diste ( apartándolos ) del mundo. Eran tuyos, y Tú me los diste, y ellos han conservado tu palabra.
"I have revealed Thy perfections to the men whom Thou gavest me out of the world. Thine they were, and Thou gavest them to me, and they have obeyed Thy message.
7 Ahora saben que todo lo que Tú me has dado viene de Ti.
Now they know that whatever Thou hast given me is from Thee.
8 Porque las palabras que Tú me diste se las he dado a ellos, y ellos las han recibido y han conocido verdaderamente que Yo salí de Ti, y han creído que eres Tú quien me has enviado.
For the truths which Thou didst teach me I have taught them. And they have received them, and have known for certain that I came out from Thy presence, and have believed that Thou didst send me.
9 Por ellos ruego; no por el mundo, sino por los que Tú me diste, porque son tuyos.
"I am making request for them: for the world I do not make any request, but for those whom Thou hast given me. Because they are Thine,
10 Pues todo lo mío es tuyo, y todo lo tuyo es mío, y en ellos he sido glorificado.
and everything that is mine is Thine, and everything that is Thine is mine; and I am crowned with glory in them.
11 Yo no estoy ya en el mundo, pero estos quedan en el mundo mientras que Yo me voy a Ti. Padre Santo, por tu nombre, que Tú me diste, guárdalos para que sean uno como somos nosotros.
I am now no longer in the world, but they are in the world and I am coming to Thee. "Holy Father, keep them true to Thy name--the name which Thou hast given me to bear--that they may be one, even as we are.
12 Mientras Yo estaba con ellos, los guardaba por tu Nombre, que Tú me diste, y los conservé, y ninguno de ellos se perdió sino el hijo de perdición, para que la Escritura fuese cumplida.
While I was with them, I kept them true to Thy name--the name Thou hast given me to bear--and I kept watch over them, and not one of them is lost but only he who is doomed to destruction--that the Scripture may be fulfilled.
13 Mas ahora voy a Ti, y digo estas cosas estando ( aún ) en el mundo, para que ellos tengan en sí mismos el gozo cumplido que tengo Yo.
"But now I am coming to Thee, and I speak these words while I am in the world, in order that they may have my gladness within them filling their hearts.
14 Yo les he dado tu palabra y el mundo les ha tomado odio, porque ellos ya no son del mundo, así como Yo no soy del mundo.
I have given them Thy Message, and the world has hated them, because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world.
15 No ruego para que los quites del mundo, sino para que los preserves del Maligno.
I do not ask that Thou wilt remove them out of the world, but that Thou wilt protect them from the Evil one.
16 Ellos no son ya del mundo, así como Yo no soy del mundo.
They do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world.
17 Santifícalos en la verdad: la verdad es tu palabra.
Make them holy in the truth: Thy Message is truth.
18 Como Tú me enviaste a Mí al mundo, también Yo los he enviado a ellos al mundo.
Just as Thou didst send me into the world, I also have sent them;
19 Y por ellos me santifico Yo mismo, para que también ellos “sean santificados, en la verdad”.
and on their behalf I consecrate myself, in order that they may become perfectly consecrated in truth.
20 “Mas no ruego solo por ellos, sino también por aquellos que, mediante la palabra de ellos, crean en Mí,
"Nor is it for them alone that I make request. It is also for those who trust in me through their teaching;
21 a fin de que todos sean uno, como Tú, Padre, en Mí y Yo en Ti, a fin de que también ellos sean en nosotros, para que el mundo crea que eres Tú el que me enviaste.
that they may all be one, even as Thou art in me, O Father, and I am in Thee; that they also may be in us; that the world may believe that Thou didst send me.
22 Y la gloria que Tú me diste, Yo se la he dado a ellos, para que sean uno como nosotros somos Uno:
And the glory which Thou hast given me I have given them, that they may be one, just as we are one:
23 Yo en ellos y Tú en Mí, a fin de que sean perfectamente uno, y para que el mundo sepa que eres Tú quien me enviaste y los amaste a ellos como me amaste a Mí.
I in them and Thou in me; that they may stand perfected in one; that the world may come to understand that Thou didst send me and hast loved them with the same love as that with which Thou hast loved me.
24 Padre, aquellos que Tú me diste quiero que estén conmigo en donde Yo esté, para que vean la gloria mía, que Tú me diste, porque me amabas antes de la creación del mundo.
"Father, those whom Thou hast given me--I desire that where I am they also may be with me, that they may see the glory--my glory--my gift from Thee, which Thou hast given me because Thou didst love me before the creation of the world.
25 Padre Justo, si el mundo no te ha conocido, te conozco Yo, y estos han conocido que eres Tú el que me enviaste,
And, righteous Father, though the world has failed to recognize Thee, I have known Thee, and these have perceived that Thou didst send me.
26 y Yo les hice conocer tu nombre, y se lo haré conocer para que el amor con que me has amado sea en ellos y Yo en ellos”.
And I have made known Thy name to them and will make it known, that the love with which Thou hast loved me may be in them, and that I may be in them."
